This is a great blog when I was in thiland I eat thia food for my breakfast & it las till 5pm if I got hungry I would eat stet food going by ur lifestyle which I like I could live there 😊😊

As Thai, I'd love to have around $1400 to spend each month. While I'm not a wasteful person, it's not easy to live on $300 the entire month. The reason for $1400 is that I could have enough margin for investment and emergency fund while still living comfortably. There are more stuffs we could do other than eat and walk around. Hobbies are more important the more your minds are free. If you're living somewhere for a long time, you'd starting to get used to it and the normal life would become dull. So either moving around when that happen or have some kind of hobbies. And hobbies take money. $900 is the general number of household income, so of course you'd be able to live. But as I mentioned above, we need enough margin for investment and emergency.

I did it on 700AUD PM😂😂😂it was my challenge actually and that was my absolute sweet spot! Where I felt happiest w evetytbing covered! I dont drink nor party! I did t go out..I ate as a local!

ps. I'm Thai office worker in chiangmai, as native with free rent, i spend around $400-$500 per month for fix cost and food (my salary; $900/month)
Last year we were at Crete, Greece in July and it had actually 46 degrees Celsius. I can totally relate to "melting" 🥵

$900 is luxury mate .I lived for a year ( my last year in the Kingdom ) in Chiang mai on $600 per month /B15,000 .Fan room no A/c .Had a balcony .That was 2018 to 2019 .My rather nice Condo in the Suburbs was B2,200 /Month which included WiFi .I still had 4 large Changs a day ,and ran a scooter 125 cc .

John it’s strange but I prefer Thai food but if I was living in chaing Mia as a single man I think £1200 would be brilliant for me about 55 000 thai baht
You'll always make do with what you have. I lived off 10k a month in Bangkok throughout covid. 4k baht apartment, 2k baht renting a 125cc, plus food. Also preying to god I didn't get into an accident without health insurance.
Now I'm working remotely and living off 50k and saving the rest, I wouldn't like to go back to being so broke

@@tylerraffy2642 programmer, I was teaching English online during covid, learnt to code during that time and got the job that way.
If you have no experience nowhere is going to give you a remote job. I had to suck it up, go back to UK for a year, then asked my employer to go remote, and they said yes 💪
I believe that with $900 per month it is achievable. It depends on our lifestyle. As for retirees over 65, it is more difficult. Medical insurance costs much more.
Yep, the health insurance does go up considerably over time.

As John said we should have realistic expectations with a $900 budget. The question is, where else in the world could you get better with $900?
Except perhaps Vietnam i cant think of anywhere.
The point is, if $900 is your budget you can live a simple, peaceful life with medical insurance and food on the table

Is it hot all year around over there?
Now is hot season, usually its a bit cooler around the low 30s, in winter it can get quite cool on the evenings and mornings.
I'm over extreme heat and for that reason Thailand would never work. It's one thing to be 40c+ for a week or a month but averaging 30c year round I'm done with. Bad enough living in South Australia where 6 months it is above 25c to 40+. Bugger the budget I'd have the AC on 24/7.
Yep the heat this year has been insane, can't remember it being this hot!
Everybody has their sweetspot, that the great about se-asia. u can survive on 10$ - or live in total luxury for 1000$ a day. its all up to you.
Most important is that u thrive and are happy and healthy

This was for things like the odd grab and tuk tuk but you could run a motorcycle with this budget also :)

Yep, usually to block out the sun. Could do with being a bit cooler :)
Long sleeves takes the heat from sun same as a hat or cap.
.u are pretty cool under it cloth and material takes the most of the heat .
I often go with a very thin black hoodie and thin jeans here in se asia..laughing at other westerners going in tanktop cargoshorts and sandals sizzling like bacon in the direct sun.
When in Asia - dress like a local, they know
Sorry I disagree because I was there 3 weeks ago. I had the runs for 4 weeks. Breathing problems with the worst air quality in the world because of burning season add the continuous 42 degrees and you’ve got a ripper of a holiday
Spend a bit more and go to Europe with its pristine blue beaches. That’s my trip having sampled both 5 times over

@@Zen.Daemon of course walking is standard but still u need a scooter when living in CM. Unfortunately it comes with some risk...

@@carstensanonym7527 I did not have a scooter but I did have a bicycle.and used to cycle up to Doi Suthep and all round the city. Plenty of short cuts for a bike but you do get the occasional dog that chases you.

Sounds do-able! I was living on 1000 Bhat / Day as a single guy on my trip there last year. (after rent) Had a great time and was eating Farang food here and there.

No, you could maybe cook on the balcony, but small places like this don't usually having anywhere to cook.

900 us dollars might cover your basics . If you want to partake in everything your surroundings has to offer as opposed to being an envious spectator , aim for at least $ 2000
