    RYTM Mk2 is by far the best purchase I've made in years. It's good to know that I don't have to buy another drum machine for the rest of my natural life. Great jams, Jeremy. Thanks!

    This is exactly how I have been using Rytm the last 6 months. Never been in love with a drum machine til I got one of these. It complements modular so nicely.

    With all the music RMR is making on his YT channel...he's going to drop 20 new albums this year.
    Holy synth balls & modular noodles 😱

    Another great video! These setup/Performance explanations are really interesting. I also love how you sprinkle in all these useful arrangement tips without them being overwhelming and with a summary at the end. Cant get a better resource!

    Always love to see a process from scratch. Great soundscape you've built here. That Hapax is a beast and definitely something I'd like to get my hands on. Most of my sets are built from scratch live so I always need gear that can be really consistent within a range I can expect.

    tip from the manual - so as to time muting and unmuting all the better!
    While in MUTE mode: Press and hold [FUNC] and then any of the [PADS] to preselect a mute, or mute/unmute several tracks in one go. Once you release [FUNC], the selected mutes come into effect. Blue colored
    show the preselected mutes.
    Tip the second, regarding mutes:
    When MUTE mode is active, press [RTRG] and one of the [PADS] if you wish to activate solo, in other words, mute all tracks except the one selected. Press again to deactivate solo. Keeping [RTRG] pressed, multiple tracks may be solo activated/deactivated. Solo activated are of turquoise color.

    Congrats on the 400K+ subs. Another super helpful sequencing video. I use the Korg SQ64 and some Reasonstudios sequence generators - Bassline GEN, Chords SEQ, Pattern Mutator, ChordsSQ, and others sent out from DAW to real synthesizers. Your pattern was groovy and very danceable.

    Wow. Red's gone deep! I used to check out your tutorials all the time. I mean plastic LXR and Model Cycles kinda stuff. So varied and helpful. Kinda going Semi Modular at the mo but the RYTM thumps also. You should do some low key Modular vids (do they already exist?) to guide novices in.😀

  • @510th
    @510th 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yooooooooooooo. =). I’ve also decided modules for drums waste space and I can get most sounds from modules and then sample them to one of a few sample players to use… but also trying to learn the rytm and be able to do drums either way. Curious what that midi controller is you are playing the 4ms and other modules with… seems sick to be able to select a module/chain to play on demand. Thanks and cheers

  • @phillippegreenough1971
    @phillippegreenough1971 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you use for MIDI>CV ? I know the Hapax has CV Outs, but I'm building a modular rig and am wondering what a good option is.......

  • @danieldemayo6209
    @danieldemayo6209 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you tried using the impulse machine on the AR with your modular? Haven’t seen a lot of info on it…

  • @Drakkar6163
    @Drakkar6163 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    so switching to the AR you lose all the trigger possibilities from the modular system (euclidean, burst, etc).
    is it something you are not interested in anymore or it's just for a particular need you have right now?
    either way cool process, thanks for sharing

  • @faremissound

    Loving your videos man, learning a TON from them! This one is dope! I’m in a bit of a bind trying to decide whether to expand my current eurorack setup with drum modules (say get an upcoming Erica’s lxr-02 eurorack module and Pam's NEW Workout) or get an Elektron Syntakt or RYTM and keep my drums outside of modular? I know you enjoy both approaches so I was wondering if you’d be willing to share your thought process choosing between those depending on music you produce? I know - a loaded question! Thanks!

    • @RedMeansRecording
      @RedMeansRecording  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't get the lxr. Pam's is a terrible drum sequencer. Go syntakt digitakt Rytm or tr8s

    • @faremissound
      @faremissound 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RedMeansRecording Thank you for these thoughts! Sounds like you are favoring drum machines over modular drums these days. I just watched your awesome video on Erica's Sample Drum. What about pairing it with Varigate 4+ and Basimilus Iteritas Alter? I'll probably go with a Elektron box in the end but still would love your opinion on modules above as an alternative.

    • @festuswilliams654
      @festuswilliams654 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@faremissound in terms of real estate, it is hard to make an argument for modular drums.. I'd start getting a good drum machine you can work with and maybe supplement it with modular later..

    • @faremissound
      @faremissound 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@festuswilliams654 thank you!

    • @festuswilliams654
      @festuswilliams654 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@faremissound no worries.
      When I think about drum sequencers, you'd need one that does basic programmable drum patterns e.g. Steppy but then you'd need something with special sauce e.g. Trigger riot, or a Euclid monster (ADDAC 402).
      Though my knowledge may be out of date, I've not looked deeply into something like the Erica drum sequencer or the WMD which maybe do both elements...either way the money and space makes it a hard sell. You could in this scenario forgo modules and just settle on a sampler for your drums sounds (Bitbox or Squid Salmple) but then you lose the play/tweak ability for individual drum modules which is so much of their fun. One way or other it ends up a Phil Leotardo sized compromise... Nobody wants that.

  • @Handheldsounds

    Have you tried using Hapax as a drum sequencer? I'm wondering how intuitive it is compared to the Elektron sequencer.
