    Thanks for confirming that locking something to scale, will now also quantize the pitch to scale. As you mentioned this has been something that's been requested a lot by the community, and I have t seen anyone else mention it. This gives me hope that this will be implemented in the Syntakt and other elektron gear.

    • @SURCOlive
      @SURCOlive  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey! Unfortunately that was incorrect. I was just lucky to hit the right notes. After further tests, it is not quantized to scale yet. I edited that part out of the video. In my live stream on the RYTM today, I'll talk more about it. Thanks for tuning in

      Am sure they will. Be silly not to. They are likely wanting to milk the Rytm stock and once the curve drums out on that they’ll release the other, to stave off anyone making it a decision between two flagships; see?

    It’s nice to have a channel doing such a good content.
    I’m trying to figure out what is better for me. An Analog Rytm mkt 2 or the digitakt + the syntak.
    I need one or the other to create my own drum samples in the studio.. I work a lot with sound design and in the DAW I usually use synth and sample layers to make my own drum sounds.
    When I say digitakt + syntak it’s because I’m thinking about syncing the MIDI of the two devices and layering the synth (of syntak) with samples (of the digitakt). Example: in digitakt a clap sample and in the syntak a synth model clap.
    I’m trying to figure out which choice has more sound design power.
    In the Analog Rytm mkt 2 I can resample… but in the digitakt + syntak it looks like there is a bigger range of sounds for me to tweak and experiment with.
    What would be your suggestion?
    Thank you!

    • @SURCOlive
      @SURCOlive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Glad you are enjoying the content. For my personal experience the RYTM is my number one favorite for making drum sounds. It’s amazing to have that layering power in one box with the resampling. I love Syntakt as a 12 voice mono synth and the Digitakt as a one shot sample player. I never find myself designing drums on either, but I do with the RYTM all the time. This is for me, so your needs may be different. The good news is that they are all awesome machines so no wrong choice! Thanks for watching!

    Pass-the-god-damm-butter! I've tried for weeks to understand the polymeter vs polyrhythm thing, and finally the penny dropped watching this video so many thanks :) My old Mk1 is reawakening thanks to Elektron's amazing update to you & @EZBOT - one question if you don't mind; What's your swing value with your Elektron gear? Is it different for each unit? Do you just set & forget? Use it as a performance tool? And lastly do you know the Elektron equivalent for the esoteric TR-909 shuffle 2?
    Heh sorry that's 5 questions... but one answer would be great cheers :)

    • @SURCOlive
      @SURCOlive  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that pattern almost broke my head. :) I don’t usually mess with swing much unless I feel something needs it. I build variation in other ways like lfos on velocity or using micro timing (but only when I produce not live) thanks for watching!

    • @SURCOlive
      @SURCOlive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Hector. There is no ‘need’ for any of the other machines. You have everything to make awesome music. That said, each of the others do things that the digi boxes don’t. A lot depends on what type of music you are making. They are each really great at what they do. Thanks so much for watching!!

      @SURCOlive  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which menu structure feels different?

    • @chinmitten
      @chinmitten 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SURCOlive most of the backend stuff on the RYTM (loading samples, MIDI settings, etc) and some of the retrig stuff. Maybe I’m crazy but the Syntakt/Tone/Takt feel just slightly more updated. With that said, RYTM is never leaving me.

    • @SURCOlive
      @SURCOlive  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chinmitten it might just be a function of the sharing of the analog synth controls with the sample controls. The Digis only have to handle one menu each. I feel like the sample loading menus are the same. The midi is really different for sure as that was added after the fact on the Rytm and is not very capable. The Digis are way better set up for midi use.

    Maybe you can consider doing your videos in higher res - 1080p or more. At 720p the writing on the Rytm's screen is too blurry to read so it makes it a little harder to follow.
