It amazes me how those Korean fanboys compare Korean reliability to Japanese. My uncle had a 98 Accord with 275,000 miles and never had an issue, he sold it to a coworker a few years ago for $300 and he is still driving it today in 2021. Meanwhile my 2015 Sonata is falling apart with only 65,000 miles.
I found a 2012 Civic LX 5 speed in good condition. 88k miles with good owners. The biggest service was a clutch replacement in 2020. Biggest cosmetic issue is it may need a new paint job. Had a small fender bender bumper but only cosmetic. Drives and shifts into every gear with no grinds or pops. Clean fully stock everything. They wanted $8300 and got them to go to $7500 due to the paint. One side of the hood line looks a little off compared to the other side. Clean carfax but that only shows what was reported. The current owners dont know if the previous owner had any accidents not reported. Thoughts anyone???
Clean carfax i would go for ir honestly but drive it around, im getting an ex with 90 k miles from a dealership i trust because people on the streets love to scam unfortunately smh
I love Honda civics! I have bought a 2015 lx or ex (idk which one lol) at 89k miles and I love it. My mileage is at 32 mpg with mostly city miles, it sav3s me a lot on gas and it feels much nicer to hav a car than a suv/higher up vehicle bc of the better handing and turns
I have the same 2012 Civic, same exact color with 275,000 on it. I bought it last April for $3k because of some front end damage. However mine gets about 38mpg but I know I can easily exceed that on a long interstate highway journey. I also have the original sticker when it was bought brand new. It claims the vehicle is capable of 46mpg. It was a 1 owner car and I love it. Best $3000 I've ever spent!!!
I have this car , and it’s 110K km , and shift like dream . Only problem that I have it’s very low and it drags on snow and damaged the bottom plate all the time . So far I replace 2 plates and 3rd is already due . Other than that it’s really good car
Looks like a great car! I’m from the Uk, over here we have a hatchback version of the civic, I own a 2013 mk9 civic and to me it’s funny when you call this car ‘small’, the hatchback civic is seen as a moderate size over here :)
The new Civic is effectively a midsize vehicle, so you're not wrong in noting their ever-growing size. My favorite generation, Gen 6, Civics were subcompacts!!
I just bought one with this same color, 174k miles for $6000, maybe not the best deal, but prices are high right now and these are reliable. Kelly blue book had it valued with an average price of $6500. Only using it as my A to B car while I’m in college and then I’ll upgrade when I graduate and get a job. Or maybe I’ll still keep it later, who knows.
ive been using this car since 2016 for pizza delivery and i never got engine problem. its always tires and oil that i spend money on never engine parts
I am looking to possibly purchase one tomorrow. I think around same mileage. I feel so much better now. Mine will have leather and the navigation. I was nervous about the mileage. Did you get an extended warranty? Should I get an inspection first? I have the car fax. It is a really clean car physically.
If the car tax is good and the car looks good with that kind of mileage on it. I say go for it! Civics will last a very very long time! And you’ll love it

2:33 "average fuel mileage 26.6mpg" Finally, someone else drives their 2012 civic harder than I do! (I bought the 5-speed manual so I'm required to flog it) It's the modern-day version of a 1980s Volvo. Regular maintenance and it'll last forever... except maybe the pins that hold the bumpers on.

What’s your take on a 2013 civic, and what model? Example, is the si reliable and if not what should I get? I’m torn between a civic and a Corolla 2012. Over all it’s between these two and I have zero idea idea what models are best and most reliable for both? For me it comes down to reliability and resale value. What’s the best?
@@drewt1 I’ve noticed the Corolla for the same millage and year is around 4K cheaper though. As long as the civic holds value for when I decided to sell it than I’ll go with a civic. Do civics hold value or would I be spending an extra 4K for nothing?
You can’t go wrong with neither. My friend has a Toyota Yaris 2012 coupe and still reliable. I have the Honda Civic Si 2012 coupe in blue, both of our cars are manual transmission so hence why the reliability is even superb.
Need advice anyone please??? I can't decide between a 2012 Scion Tc auto, 120k miles or a 2012 Honda Civic LX w Manual Transmission, 88k miles. I like the idea of a Honda with lower mileage even though it's slow and not sporty look. The Tc is faster as far as hp goes and looks better than the Civic LX but the 2 doors might make car insurance higher. I just want a fun daily, driver car and yes, I considered a Civic Si but they're out of my budget and most are high mileage or heavily modded. Let me know your thoughts??? Thx

How do I know what body/interior style a 2012 Honda Civic 1.8 LTR just like this one is? Some folks may say, DUHH, it says LX right there in the heading of this video. They may be right, but when you go to buy parts for any car you better make sure 100% you know what part it is, and the style of these vehicle's are. We have all the same features of your car, and it's a 2012 with only 57,000 miles on it. So now we are going across country, and want to make sure everything as far as Battery, Alternator, Tires, ETC are in order, and we can cruise the country with no worry's at all. We always carry the basic tools and emergency equipment with us when we hit the road, but firestone has called this vehicle a DX, and a LX, on tires and regular maintenance 2x's. Are car has the clothe interior, with power windows, ABS braking system, power locks, power trunk via the key fob. I got into it the other day, and left the hazard lights on for about 45 minutes and when we were ready to go the car wouldn't start. I had it checked by 3 auto parts store and they all said everything is fine. I left the car sitting for 4 days and went out there and it started right up. But Being a elder statesman i know you should be able to leave the hazard lights on for hours without it draining the battery. I left it sitting again for 3 or 4 days driving my Truck, and went out and the 2012 Honda started right up. So as a Honda civic lover for just the fuel savings, we now have are first ever doubts about this car. It sounds crazy but it's the honest to gods truth. I been told so many things like, oh, sometimes it will do that. Well on a cross country trip in a 2012 Honda civic probably a LX I am not so sure now. The moral to my comment is, If anyone knows why this would happen we would appreciate any knowledge you may have. We bought this car in 2013, and have never had 1 issue with it. Thanks for the video, and may God Bless us all.

do you plan on keeping it? i have a 2012 too
I’m getting one this weekend from a buddy of mine. It’s got 176,000 miles, do you have any advice on how to keep it running as long as yours did?
I found this car at used car Lott for $8,400 and I was doing research to see if it’s worth and you just hooked me on to it. I look forward to buying this when I get my license in a week
Getting one sooon exicited
130k on my 2012 lx. Zero problems and running like a clock.
Great review ..how do you find the passing power and merging on the highway?
I have the same 2012 Civic, same exact color with 275,000 on it. I bought it last April for $3k because of some front end damage. However mine gets about 38mpg but I know I can easily exceed that on a long interstate highway journey. I also have the original sticker when it was bought brand new. It claims the vehicle is capable of 46mpg. It was a 1 owner car and I love it. Best $3000 I've ever spent!!!
i have a 2006 honda civic. bought it 4 yrs ago. havent failed at all!! im going to upgrade soon. will def be a honda!
I have this car , and it’s 110K km , and shift like dream . Only problem that I have it’s very low and it drags on snow and damaged the bottom plate all the time . So far I replace 2 plates and 3rd is already due . Other than that it’s really good car
Great Video easy to understand..
I'm definitely looking for honda to purchase
Looks like a great car!
I’m from the Uk, over here we have a hatchback version of the civic, I own a 2013 mk9 civic and to me it’s funny when you call this car ‘small’, the hatchback civic is seen as a moderate size over here :)
The new Civic is effectively a midsize vehicle, so you're not wrong in noting their ever-growing size. My favorite generation, Gen 6, Civics were subcompacts!!
@@bernlin2000 you have to google honda brio. 😂😂😂😂
My 2009 has been pretty amazing but I do like the 2012.
Civics are just amazing!
I loved this review, you finally convinced me on the Honda
Got the same car. Really good car but I got bunch of things modified
Got mine in 2020 for Christmas from my family love it
I got one myself a few months back it’s a great daily driver, but I’m skeptical about modding because of the r18 engine
Do not mod it. That’s the best way to turn a reliable car into an unreliable car.
If you want to mod for fun,buy a mid 90s Civic and leave the 2012 for a daily.
ITS A HONDA! 😂
Love it
Hahaha famous words!
Awesome review, hope your channel gets bigger
We appreciate the love man! Thank you!
I found one that needs paint work for 3k...It has 120k miles, 1 owner, and clean interior. Think it's worth it?
Dang! Only 3k?? If paint is the only issue I would easily take it for 3k!
You did an excellent job .Thank you. Very informative
Plain, simple and nice... it makes so much sense 👏
ive been using this car since 2016 for pizza delivery and i never got engine problem. its always tires and oil that i spend money on never engine parts
2013 was the best of 9th gen. Which is rarer: 2013 LX or 2012 LX?
Just bought one its perfect not gonna lie
I am looking to possibly purchase one tomorrow. I think around same mileage. I feel so much better now. Mine will have leather and the navigation. I was nervous about the mileage. Did you get an extended warranty? Should I get an inspection first? I have the car fax. It is a really clean car physically.
If the car tax is good and the car looks good with that kind of mileage on it. I say go for it! Civics will last a very very long time! And you’ll love it
@@IgnitionHub1Thanks! It did say it had a minor accident on side. Car looks great now though. Is that a deal breaker?
Nah it shouldn’t be a deal breaker!
I am getting the exact same car and would love your advice on accessories and cost of regular maintenance please if you don't mind... :) Loved the Vid Bro... Keep going...
im 16 i need a quick car that isnt too ugly but this too expensive at the moment, I'm buying it myself, I want a 2013 civic as my second car
Great review, very helpful. Thank you!
I just bought one civic 2012. Let's see what happen 👀 🤔 Will be updating
2:33 "average fuel mileage 26.6mpg"
Finally, someone else drives their 2012 civic harder than I do! (I bought the 5-speed manual so I'm required to flog it)
It's the modern-day version of a 1980s Volvo. Regular maintenance and it'll last forever... except maybe the pins that hold the bumpers on.
Got it for 7500 CAD with 108,000 Kms!!
So far so good 👍 since I bought it. Oil changes and brakes and is good to go. Every American car i have owned was in the shop every 2 weeks so honda is the way to go
I just found a dealership 2012 coupe 5spd with 33k mi for $15k. It's my favorite car yet even tho it's been less than a week. Looking forward to some years with it
Great deal bro
Buying this car tomorrow(October 17 , 2023) for $9k… that might sound like a lot for the age but it only has 54k miles on it! Looks like it came out the lot , inside and out.. Did I make the right choice?
definitely
Where to see the engine temperature gauge and how to read it?
There is none
Same car 🚙 178k miles never broke down 36.7mpg on the dash i once fit a lawn mower in it 10/10
So nice this is what I was looking for I am so greatful
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the video! Expect more!
I think this is what I’m going to get for my son
It's a great first car!
Hey .. that's my car 🤔🧐
Get the civic. That Corolla is pretty ugly and boring as hell to drive.
@@drewt1 I’ve noticed the Corolla for the same millage and year is around 4K cheaper though. As long as the civic holds value for when I decided to sell it than I’ll go with a civic. Do civics hold value or would I be spending an extra 4K for nothing?
@@CadenMichnal honestly I’m not that sure but if it were up to me I would rather get the civic.
You can’t go wrong with neither. My friend has a Toyota Yaris 2012 coupe and still reliable. I have the Honda Civic Si 2012 coupe in blue, both of our cars are manual transmission so hence why the reliability is even superb.
08 Honda fit sport has 5 speed automatic transmission I was getting 37-38 MPGs with no Eco button!
Where did you get the cover for the trunk carpet? Do you have a link?
Unfortunately I don't know, it came included with the car.
Getting my son first vehicle hopefully he like it
He will definitely love it!
Thx
Going to Tulsa OK, to purchase an Ex with 107xxx miles on it. I love Hondas!!
Nice planning to buy 9th gen for daily
I have a 2015 LX. It's reliable indeed, but I've definitely turned it more colorful than oem.
I am really hoping to find a manual version of this car.
4:27 istg i be doin shit like that😂😂😂
Do the 8th Gen review as well please.
I just got exactly this car for 1 month. I got 1 problem about the acceleration. I feel it has a slight hesitation when reaching 20km/h, feel like changing gears. It has no problem above 50km/h.
Change transmission fluid
Do a drain and fill twice. Did it to my 2013 and it feels so much better!!!
Does the 2012 has a backup cam?
Unfortunately not 😞
Hella easy to get put on though
2013 does have one standard on the base model and up
@@takeabongripwitme6905 hey do you the cost to set up a rear view camera and if it's even worth it
Be aware you will need cvt transmission pressure switches. They fail a lot. Starters also fail. But otherwise very good car.
I’m thinking of buying one.. it has 230k miles on it though and the owner says it runs great. How many miles do you think it has left?
If the previous owner took good care of it, I'd say another 70k!
Seen one at 125K miles for $5900, is it worth it?
Is there a truck release by the headrest in the back seat?
Hola buenas, estoy pensado en comprar un HONDA Civic 2.2 iDTEC Executive diesel, pero mido 1.85 y soy bastante corpulento, estare comodo en el coche? y es fiable este coche?
i searched up "2012 honda civic" just because i was curious how it looks like
now this got in my recommended
i feel unsafe
Hi everyone can anyone please suggest me should i buy this car or 2012 mazda 3 sp20 hatchback SkyActiv model? Which one is better at fuel consumption?
Please reply.
Trust me, your best bet is a Honda. Depending on your budget look into a 2013 civic and up. You’ll get a way better fuel economy
I agree!
What year should not buy for a Honda Civic I’m looking around
Please help im between honda civic 2012 and 2013 i love the interior of honda civic 2012 but i don't know
Well no matter what you’re getting a very reliable car with great MPG. For me I would go for whatever has the lowest mileage on it
Idk of it’s just Massachusetts, but the cheapest one I found was a 2013 civic lx with 152x miles for $6k, everyone else is selling it for more than $10k because there’s a “shortage” is a civic for $6k with that many miles a good deal?
Not a good deal. This “shortage” creases the price of used vehicles. Be patient eventually this “shortage” will come to an end.
@@THEETROLLERZI’m dying out here
Great review dude🔰🕹🇯🇵
Thanks bro!
Do you think one with 126k miles for $5,500 is a good deal?
As long as the previous owner took care of it then yes! Great deal
Do you think 7500 for a EXL 2012 4D with 110k miles is good?
I believe that’s a good deal! Maybe try to bring the price down to $7k but if not it’s still a great deal
Is that including the tax and other payments or not
GREAT VIDEO!
Thanks man!! Glad you enjoyed the video!
I know what you mean. I love my 2011 Civic lx manual
That’s awesome!
How much gas mleage you get in city?
