yesterday's enemy is today's friend. Trust me on this. Many bruins end up going USC grad while many trojans end up going UCLA grad. Both are really good schol.

I have been a student at both schools and preferred USC over UCLA. Much better access to professors, and contrary to what many UCLA students think, classes are just as difficult or more so at USC. I think it's because they have to compete with UCLA which is a great university and competition has contributed to USC's excellence in educating its students.

USC's campus is definitely pretty in my opinion! Although I think Legally Blonde also went to UCLA, and UCLA is called the "prettiest campus in the US," so I think LA might've won in that arena. I think USC may have better tech facilities though.
UCLA is sandwiched between Beverly Hills and Santa Monica and usc is in Compton! UCLA by far the nicer campus. Not even close!

Most of my friends who went to SC didn't get into UCLA.
All of my friends from UCLA got into both.
David Kim I got into both and chose USC. Our acceptance rate is lower, retention rate is higher, and average SAT is far better (even accounting for super-score). The facts don't agree with you. ;)
I also chose USC over UC LA (and Cal) this year as a freshman, class of 2019. I felt that it really is the perfect overall balance of a school. Fight On!

Zelaphin Strraughend You can always pay student loans or try to get a scholarship :) I'm personally getting into USC because it's the best college for Video Game Design, but it is more expensive than UCLA, if you don't want to be in debt for years to come, I suggest you go to UCLA, but if you want to get into cinematics or arts and stuff like that, I suggest you go to USC. There really ain't a big difference between both universities. I hope I have helped you out with my opinion and good luck btw :)

***** I'm an international student who's been accepted to UCB, UCLA and USC. I'm going to USC because of the insane network they have, and because I don't want to just be "a number".
The thing that I don't get is that both universities are difficult to get into. They are both filled with Smart People. They are both amazing universities.
I'm a USC Alum and that was hilarious! Both schools are amazing and represent CA and LA quite well. (FIGHT ON!)

I loved both colleges after visiting - they both seem to have an amazing, traditional college atmosphere. but as a high school senior from NY who would probably have to pay sticker price at an out-of-state public school, I think you can guess which school wins my heart... :p

Hi guys, that was funny! I am proud to say that I know students at both USC and UCLA. Both are great schools with proud traditions. Keep up the good work!
No one gives a shit about rankings. It's what USC can do IN Los Angeles. And so far, USC reigns in what L.A. can do best.... BUSINESS, FILM, MEDICINE, & ART. UCLA is falling behind in all 4 IN LOS ANGELES. USC opened up a new hospital in Glendale, & took away the LONI program from UCLA within the same year. We don't have to talk about film, because USC is already known for that department. So what would some guy from London know about Los Angeles??? If UCLA is so awesome, why did USC admit the most students on an international scale? Shows that USC is quite popular in other parts of the world too.
LOL, you lost all credibility when you said that USC "reigns" in medicine. What a fucking joke. UCLA is so superior in medicine it isn't even funny. And yes, rankings do matter to those of us not attending some shitty TTT school. LOL at anyone willing to pay 45K in tuition alone to major in art. i have a genuine question: how do average American students afford college education? 50k a year? my brain refuses to understand...
The average cost to go to a 4-year state university is not 50k, maybe around 20k a year, including tuition, room & board, etc. subtracting scholarships which are not hard to get at all (at most uni's) and maybe 15k a year for the dead average college student. If you are poor, smart, or both, that number goes down even lower. Even the top-tier schools that cost 50k+ on paper are usually heavily subsidized by generous financial aid (especially the Ivy's). The only people that actually pay that much are rich kids who get into top schools and don't qualify for need-based financial aid, but they're usually well off enough in life that it's not such a big deal.

I attended BOTH schools and ucla cannot hold a candle to USC. This was a very well done video but the bRuin argument was that USC people do not care about the Community and that cannot be further from the truth. The volunteer involvement by USC is extremely high and well documented outside of Westwood. Also the household income of families of student attending ucla is Higher which shocked even me. ucla is a great discounted education but USC is much stronger University experience that continues until you die. Amen and Fight On!

Let's be honest here. You're likely a boomer. Back when you were applying to college, USC was a complete joke and anyone could pay their way in. It has been that way for the vast majority of USC's existence. It certainly wasn't very difficult to get into UCLA back then either.
The "bruin argument" was essentially that we've been ranked higher than USC for about 100 years, USC has historically been comprised of spoiled children that bought their way in, that these spoiled children primarily major in fields that take no real intellect (like business, communication, and film), that you're located in South Central, and that you pay 45K in tuition for an inferior education. All of this is still true to this day. LOL. And on the graduate school level, UCLA is superior in just about every department. It isn't even close!

Look at any reputation rankings (such as the ones from The Higher Education World Reputation Rankings) and you'll see UCLA dominates USC and it isn't even close. LOL, we have the most NCAA titles out of every college in the entire nation. No one knows or cares about gauntlet trophies. UCLA is superior in UG rankings and prestige. We're still trending upwards. You have it wrong. UC Berkeley is trending down and we're still trending up. UCLA is incredibly superior in GS departments. UCLA has superior faculty and conducts superior research compared to USC. And btw, our centennial campaign is underway right now because in 2019, we will be celebrating our 100th anniversary.
And those "most dangerous" reports are irrelevant. Our police handle a ridiculous amount of calls about incidents that don't even take place anywhere near our campus. How could anyone from LA think the area of Westwood and Bel Air is more dangerous than SC? LOL!!!!!!!!! I'm dying of laughter right now. You can't possibly believe USC is a "safer" school. This video is funny. I'm a Trojan, but I would give the UCLA guy the slight edge in this video. Both covered the classic stereotypes with both schools. Both schools need each other to be great and I think they both are. I do think SC suffers a bit from its location. It's getting better with new campus expansion and the Figueroa corridor slowly becoming better.
As a medical professional, UCLA is just a tad better.

and between UCLA and USC, as someone who's lived outside the states for a very long time I can tell you if you told someone you went to UCLA they would instantly know what you were talking about, if you said USC they would look at you blankly then ask what USC was. I.E. UCLA has a stellar reputation worldwide, USC has a non-existant rep. dont even try and argue with that because it's the truth.
