  • Tearing down an old house with the Takeuchi TB2150. I have two building to take down on this property a house and concrete block building. This is some property one of my neighbors bought and plans to build a new house here so we are getting the place cleaned up. We lucked out because it's just a few miles from the dump and I was able to load Dad's dump truck and haul it away the same day. This is the first house I have tore down with a machine this size and it was awesome! The 2150 makes quick work of it and the reach is fantastic! Also the Werk Brau pro link thumb makes it great for picking up the debris. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #housedemo

    Just enough wind to keep the dust cleared out! Oh, and the carpet was a total throw back fashion statement!
    RIP to the GoPro 7! She’s probably staring at a scrap of the old ‘70’s wall paper right now.
    That bluestem is one of the native prairie grasses. The Giant Blue Stem grows 8’ tall. Other varieties were smaller… they are known as Buffalo grass. And yes, it burns like a wild fire.
    Did you happen to notice which way that trash panda went? I don’t need him over here… I already have plenty!
    I spent yesterday afternoon burying a neighbors cow. She died trying to deliver a calf. The baby backhoe dug the hole in about an hour. It was great getting out in the sunshine and digging again… but, the reason was troubling.
    Enjoy the weather tomorrow… looks like we’re heading for a cool off again!

    @shitloveaduck 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey Brandon!!
    I think you and your dad are doing great here. 5.5 hours??? Not bad. It looked like you were moving right along there. That machine seems to be just the right size for this demolition!! Crushing the bricks and using them as fill is perfect! It doesn’t go to the landfill which can really just be a wasteland,,,', even after burying, there’s the soil on top, but it needs to be aerated so you forever have pipes coming up from the pit to keep it aired out!! There is a large park in SouthEast Calgary that is on top of a landfill. It’s an expensive park to have as a result. The fill will definitely be clean enough to fill in a pond. The bricks are just not worth much cleaned. It’s not like it’s some rare Chicago brick of some sort form a historic building. It’s just a 1940s or 50s shop built with brick! Even to save the place, there would be so much work to properly insulating the place.
    That brick really doesn’t work well here in Alberta. There are some brick shops around of course, but I haven’t been in one that was truly warm without a huge heating bill each month. We had one and it became vehicle storage for myself. It was dry, I kept it sealed from the dust mostly, kept it mice free with cats and traps. It really was a lot more work than the 36x40 garage I had next to it, that was stick built much like a house, insulated with Rock Wool, and drywalled. No work with that place!
    The hauling is going really quick as you said, and the tipping fees don’t sound too bad. You won’t need the dumpster!!
    So this yard, with a little maintenance while you are there, and then the owners getting some of the landscaping in place by way of saving some trees etc.. Maybe even create a water irrigation set up with an old well or drill one as it would be needed anyway. Could be a very nice location! A bit of good work for you as well!! Road, land levelling for water drainage, a new basement,,,,,,, maybe even a POND in the years down the road!! Some very nice work for sure. It has a pretty nice layer of topsoil as well!!
    I’m terrible and always think of these places as if they were mine and what I would do,,,,,. There’s some nice country around there I suspect!!
    On to the Brick tomorrow!!! Eh!
    Ohh yeah!! Feelin so good I forgot to tell you I’m apparently recovering well! I am back in the city, but there was a great surprise in the ensuite bedroom downstairs!! My wife bought a bedroom suite I had liked and she set it all up for our “soundproof” ish sanctuary!!!! I knew there was a reason I kept her around!!! Hahaha. Never tell he I said that last bit,,,,,,,, heh heh. Later.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
