What's painful is that they rarely use said words in their appropriate context. They literally hinder their ability to communicate to try and sound smarter, which is something an idiot would do. My professor for physics in college with like 6 ph.d's spoke and wrote e-mails with accurate and effective verbiage. They're the same kinds of people who call others stupid for not knowing arbitrary facts or don't read books as a hobby. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. Meaning, they pass down the histories in their culture through storytelling, gossip, etc. For example, we know a lot about ancient chinese civilization or so because of their books and art preserved carefully, but not so much about ancient austronesians, who wrote on leaves and rock.
2) Different perspectives. For example, the african slave trade. You will always hear how he europeans profited from it because of the labor force, but not that many people take into account the african slave holders (mostly royalty and high class), who had slaves waaay before then

Why are people using their IQ as a ranking system. Just because your IQ is higher than someone else's doesn't mean you're any better than them. The work you put into improving yourself and helping out is what makes you a good person, not some random three-digit number you got from an online quiz.
