If you watch her in some of the plotline scenes, she's shown to be really compassionate towards her friends and has a good sense of empathy and understanding for their feelings. also, her social link scenes goes to show that she's actually quite understanding and says some pretty wise and mature things. despite her persona, she's shown many times that she's really got quite an insightful and profound mind. She has a sense of conviction in her ideas and words that the others don't share. Like how she rallies the team for the concert, when she says "I don't have dreams, I have goals", or when she justifies the motives of identity and conformity in a group by understanding that "there's no malice involved" and that collectivism in situations naturally breeds chaos. she has a sense of the importance of identity and individuality, understanding that people are made by the sum of their parts. I also love that line when she says "I didn't say anything pathetic like 'I'll do what I can...'" when talking about organizing the concert, declaring that she's going to do what she set out to. she's the only one in the group with that amount of assuredness, diligence, and capability in going after her goals, which makes me think that she's likely the most competent and reliable person out of the whole group (other than the almighty being that is the MC ofc). she didn't become an idol for nothing. it's because she is strong-willed, hard-working and one that takes initiative that earned her her prestige. She also never boasts about her idol status and is the only one mature enough to directly go after her goals by being frank with her romantic interest in the MC. In short, she strikes me as someone who is more than capable of getting things done. There's much more than a few respectable aspects to her character. Yes, she can be a little devilish (like in this scene), but that cheekiness is just part of her charm as a character. it's not meant to be taken seriously: if it were, this game wouldn't be a "mature" rated game but rather a preteen cartoon drama, because that's the stuff only early teens take seriously. its all in good fun; its not an act that intends malice. acting a little mischievous or boastful or flirtatious doesn't make you a bad person. beyond her surface level demeanor that's really meant to be an exaggeration of her persona for entertainment purposes, she's really a caring and mature person with a strong sense of will and conviction. those are the things you're _supposed_ to take seriously about her character. there's a reason this game is called 'Persona'.

love comparing this to P3!. in that game its from the guys point of view and you see them interact together joking about peeping on girls. than the girls walk in! however, its not a good thing as the terror of Mitsuru's execution prevents you from peeping, and instead has you focus on survival! i find it interesting to compare the girls in this to the ones in P3. they are all very close and open with each other here, while in P3 they take much longer before they can trust one another and eventually bond over events.
Obey I discovered that is canon to be caught in the hot spring scene, but when I played P3P, this part is harder to survive because it's all based on choices and paying attention (Seriously, there's a moment when you can choose imitate a cat, and Yukari says "Is that a Fox?" And I'd keeping pressing X, I may had chosen to say "It's a cat, dammit" and fuck all the operation).
