I didn't find p5 bitter...I mean ok (SPOILER P5 ahead nownownownownow) the MC is returning home and departing from his friends (and waifu if you had one) but they're spending that day together and the separation will only be temporary, since the MC is attending the last year of high school and he will be back to Tokyo. And probably they will see each other during that year. So, to me, is a happy ending all right

Also in the Arena games you learn that Elizabeth has been searching for a way to free him from the seal. So either he'll be freed naturally because the seal isnt needed anymore or someone will free him hopefully without destroying the seal.
+Jason Warnecke Old comment but Erebus was only temporarily killed. So long as humanity keeps wishing for death Erebus will keep reforming and keep coming back. As you see in Arena Elizabeth has to keep killing it to keep it away from Makoto (Atlus' official name for p3 mc) and the seal.
I think I read somewhere that p3's release had some controversy, from both Japan and western/non Japanese areas where the game was accessable, with the theme being death and using a gun to shoot yourself, so atlus had to make P4 a more light-hearted game with more friend and happy moments and murder, but I can't find the source to where I read it

Felt too cheese tbh, i'm glad i heard about this ending. Not that i didn't like the train one, but this didn't feel too "in your face" and i appreciate that. It was a beautiful experience.

And the game accomplishes making you feel loved, yes, but so it does with the golden ending without screaming i love you in your face. Idk, i find that much more fulfilling. I guess i'm more of a "show, don't tell" person.

I love this gang man, arguably my fave bunch of gangs in jprg ive played. Not many rpg could create this kind of warmth and feel like home kind of ending. Thanks Atlus to make such a wonderful character in a game.
Well it's because a lot of RPG games have things that we the player can't really relate to, but with the Persona games starting from P3 - P5R they added Social Links so we could feel closer to the characters besides just what we get from them in the story which makes them feel more like virtual friends rather than Videogame characters we have to defeat evil with. I remember when I first played P5 & thought the game was amazing & I am glad P4 & P4G didn't disappoint with the content despite the scale of the game being way lower than P5's was.
I thinks that's the point, Persona 3 played off on choosing your own path, Persona 4 emphasised on the bonds made between those you care about while you went down it, and Persona 5 went onto to show us that there is always consequences by choosing those you love and what is right over what is accepted and enforced. Personally I can't wait to see how P6 might play off it.

I find this ending way better than the normal good ending. The normal ending gave the idea that the MC is gone forever. Yes, they do say that "it won't be the last time we see each other" but it really gave off that vibe. This ending just reassures us that the MC isn't gone forever and comes to visit every so often, but even that small of a change made me not feel empty, as opposed to the normal good ending.
Watching this 8 years later and i still cry. Even though i feel teddie's speech was a more powerful note to end on, the remake's epilogue makes me so much more happy even if it slightly subtracts from the originals power. Just seeing teddie and yosuke attempting to surprise him alone gets me choked upp
If you need more to tear over, nanako turns legally into an adult this year. Enough time has passed that someone who was a baby when the game originally came out in 2008 is now capable of holding full time employment. This game really does come from a different time
Charlie Lecher I mean. That depends on your definition of “alive”. The way I understand it, he gave his soul to make the Great Seal, but it’s possible for him to be returned to normal. If he were truly dead and gone, they wouldn’t imply that and not have Elizabeth leave the Velvet Room for him. And I don’t know if Dancing All Night is purely a spin off or not. If not, then he’s still keeping Nyx locked up. If so, then why? Who’s keeping Nyx separated from everything? Of course, I might be talking out my ass here and making pure speculations. He might just be locked in the Seal for eternity unless Atlus decides to bring him back for some reason. Which would probably render his sacrifice moot.

Im now having post game depression after finishing P4G. The feelings after watching epilogue feels like you just said goodbye to your friends, and it sucks so much. This was the best game i have ever played in a while!
First persona game you play always cuts the deepest when you have to leave all your friends behind after such a long and epic adventure together, but there's definitely a stronger bond between the group in 4 then any other of the games so it's a harder goodbye to swallow (and none of the waifus ever leave with you, so you feel kind of like you go through a break up as well)

Just got the Golden ending. I love this game so much, hurts that it's all over now and likely won't see them again. But knowing Yu visits Inaba whenever he can and that the rest of the group, Rise included (cuz she's an Idol doing all sorts of things) are willing to go out of their way to make time to hang out together makes me really happy. Wonder how they're doing as a group by Persona 5.
By the time of Persona 5 (set in 2016): 1) Rise Kujikawa have successfully made her comeback as an idol. You can see her poster. There was also a report saying she may take a hiatus to help her grandma at her tofu store. 2) A news report revealed that Yukiko Amagi have taken over the Amagi Inn and she is the owner now. 3) Although not mentioned by name, there was a random person who mentioned a girl in a police academy who knows Kung Fu, which is definitely Chie Satonaka. 4) Naoto Shirogane presumably still work as a detective and she was mentioned as the first Detective Prince before Goro Akechi who became known as the second Detective Prince. 5) Yosuke Hanamura, Kanji Tatsumi and Teddie are not mentioned at all but Yosuke mentioned he planned to go to college (as he said in Arena games), Kanji might be working at his mother's textile shop and Teddie might be working in Junes. 6) As for Yu Narukami, his fate is currently unknown.

Watching the P4G Anime made Marie's job as a weather forecaster sensible. I just realized it when she said that she'll be the one keeping the fog away in the Anime. Oh and her new name, Mariko Kusumi, does make sense since her name's Marie and she was Kusumi-no-Okami
Damn. I love Naoto’s character arc. Throughout the game she felt like she needed to dress, speak, and act like a man in order to be taken seriously as a detective and as a human being, however you look at her in the time skip she fully accepts herself as woman and is proud of it. One of the best female characters ever written. Period. Also Best girl no contest.
@@onma07ksa She was never trans. Her story is meant to be a commentary on how women are treated in the work force compared to men in Japan. This misunderstanding is like with Kanji. People think his arc centers around his sexuality, but in truth it was centered around the concept of masculinity and what it means to be a man. His social link is about him expressing and being accepted for his feminine hobbies despite being a dude. Naoto’s is her proving herself that her gender doesn’t make her lesser or dumber, she’s a great detective and will continue to prove that fact to herself and to others.
Starlight -angel We got plenty of love for the Persona 3 and Persona 4 casts already with Persona 4 Arena and Ultimax, AND Persona Q. If anything, I'mkind of bummed the original Persona 1 and 2 cast are completely ignored beyond the very sporadic callbacks you'd get on the TV program in Persona 3.
P1 and P2 cast aren't tied with 3 and 4, so it's impossible to add them all to one story... How combine plot with "all rumors came true" in Sumaru with Inaba events? Don't forget that behind in SL P3 they add theme od Maya from P2. I think They closed story P1 & 2 - in more decent Persona games old cast should have more than 30 years - so, it's impossible to combine all parts. Sorry for my english.
I could not actually agree with you more. I really want p5 because persona....but the p4 cast is absolute perfection (besides Yukiko). I really want to see them as adults, and how their lives went for them, but most importantly I want to see that Yu and Chie get married because she's the motherfucking best.

I remember the first time I got this ending and i dated both Rise and Marie at the same time because there's no consequence for dating Marie and any other girl in the game so when Marie professed her love for me and Rise snapped, I legit thought that was a custom ending for the cheating part xD Scared the hell outta me

I'm not into JRPG even Japanese stuff in general but damn this game caught me off guard Hands down best game I ever played even beating Witcher 3 (2nd favorite game). The connection I had with the Persona 4 cast just means something too me, It's almost felt absurdly real.

I suppose it would be harder to do in Royal especially though. Few tears came out when I got this ending. Who wouldn't after spending 80+ hours with a cast like that. With new scenes in Golden no game can top it yet. Everyone desperately trying to find good arguments that their favorite is a canon choice. We've been over this guys thousand times already. Canon is what you've done in your playthrough. All the girls like the protagonist, some are more expressive then the others and that is that. Of course romance won't continue in the new games cuz' it would be a bad decision from business standpoint. They won't say ''this is canon'' and make countless other people rage cuz' it wasn't their favorite. I love Rise myself but I'll never go and bash someone else's favorite. The girls are so awesome I'm thanking Atlus for giving us such a choice in a first place. :3
If you really think that everything about this game's story and character interactions were disappointing then this game clearly wasn't for you. Simple as that.
The school system+dating sim+dungeon crawling is something you don't see much in other JRPGs and the characters themselves are really likable, since you spend so much time with them. It's not like you see characters celebrating New Year's eve or going on a Ski trip often in video games. The duality of characters and their inner conflicts that are presented in this game are flashed out so well that are relateble to real life. Yet I see you only talking about detective story and only mentioning interactions like it's a side thing. So I stand what I said. This game is not for you cuz' you clearly went in it for a wrong reason. Yes the game is epic for a lot of people, myself included. It's an epic journey and the game clearly gives a picture for what it stands for.

***** I get the impression that you wouldn't recognize a good story if someone beat you over the head with it. The S Links don't conflict with the main plot. In terms of pure story telling, they add depth to the characters and world. The most important thing in any good story is being interested in the characters. You could have a meandering plot that barely advances at all and still have a great story if people are invested in the world and characters (See: Name of the Wind). Getting rid of the S Links would be a major detractor from both the gameplay and the story telling. The whole plot wasn't the cast dealing with their personal issues. I don't even know where you're coming up with that. The main plot is told to you by the teacher on the school trip well in advance. This can easily be overlooked, but one of the points in a mystery is to pay attention. The game also draws extra attention to this story by giving the main character the Persona Izanagi. This is also consistent with the theme of all the character arcs. Izanagi refusing to face the truth and running away from his personal issues by locking Izanami away the same way the cast is running from their own issues. The final attack of the game is even Izanagi using "Myriad Truths" on Izanami. The murder case was excellently written. The clues are well laid out and, like any good mystery, give you opportunities to solve things for yourself without making them obvious. The twists are surprising, but it's completely possible to predict all of them. I don't even understand what more you could have wanted from the ending. It tied up all the character arcs and the main plot. That's the end. Did you want the game to follow them for the rest of their lives?

"Many" is still a small minority. So the S Links don't conflict with the main story, only the intimate S Links? I do think they should have gated S Links and made it so you could only become intimate later in the game, but that's an incredibly small criticism. Between this true ending and 5’s, it’s good to know for certain that Atlus will always have me on strings when it comes to eliciting the intended emotions. Golden leaving me very happy and the post royal depression still going strong over a month later
At least with royal you can jump straight in to strikers to ease the depression - the gameplay is a bit of a janky beat em up and not as refined but it's still very nice to see the phantom thieves back together again for a pretty fun adventure.
Finished the game today, still cried more in persona 5 royal because the final arc is the best and most emotional in the franchise. But i cried A LOT in p4g ending too, happy endings normally touch me a lot

Got a little teary eyed when saying goodbye both before and after the final boss. And then when Yukiko said "Thank you for everything" I fully lost it with everyone else's words of affection. I love this game so much.
looking back at this now is ridiculous but the p5 protagonist literally is chained to a jail and gets beaten up by his attendants in the velvet room, while yu gets a limo, free with booze and music.
Each Velvet Room represents the trial of the guest. P3: "Time to find your answer to Life" P4: "Travel to discover yourself and accept who you are" P5: "Broke the chains and rebel against an evil power"
.... God damn, I love Persona 4! This is the game that finally got me hooked up to the Persona Series itself. And I gain interest in the other Shin Megami Tensei games as well. And while I'm not interested in the main game and the other spin-offs, I find them pretty awesome. X3 And the other thing that got me hook up to Persona is Teddie. Well, he is soooo cute and adorable. If he was real, I will not pet him, unless he says so. X3

I'm sorry I'm an American playing a Japanese video game and I didn't feel like using google ok?...Such a great game.
I know we're all here to relive the conclusion to this great game, but I also want to take a moment to gush over how much I like the new character art for everyone at the end. And it's not just because they stylistically still look great, but because it each design shows visually how far they've all come. Yosuke's pink shirt shorter hair is, while not necessarily feminine, not traditionally masculine. He spends the bulk of the game trying to be a tough cool guy, but now feels perfectly comfortable expressing himself just as he is. Chie meanwhile has ditched her kung fu aesthetic regarding her jacket and haircut. While she still no doubt loves them all, it shows she feels more confident in her abilities to protect herself and those she cares for that she doesn't need to don the warrior costume. Yumiko's clothing is more relaxed and with a less professional/girl boss vibe. It shows she doesn't feel the need to live up to expectations of her family's inn, and that she can do what she chooses. Kanji's is a pretty stark and obvious contrast, since he went from punk atire to nerd atire. But since he knows he can still kick anyone's ass and that he's fine being who is, it doesn't matter what he presents himself as. Rise's look is more glamourous and flashy, showing she's come to terms with that side of herself who likes it while still not going to the extremes her pop star life was like before. Naoto's look is also quite obvious, no longer wearing concealing clothing that hides her gender. She's fine with who she is, and presenting herself as such. Even Teddie, who desperately wanted to be a lady's man with that open shirt corsage thing he had on before is willing to don more moderate clothing. All of these characters face their true self, grow, and change and I love that we see that change in the epilogue well after the protagonist leaves. It's another facet that makes these characters feel so real and why the Persona series is so damn good at getting the player invested in everybody. Kudos to everyone at Atlas, and I can't wait to see what they have planned for Persona 6! Oh, and Marie's a weather girl I guess. Sure, why not...
Every 6 to 12 months I come back to re-watch the train scene, and every time I cry like a baby. When the gang runs with the train is IMPOSSIBLE not to cry. This time I rewatched all of it, including the epilogue. Gives the ending a fairly happy tone. Was the last frame of the ps2 ending the photo?
One of the best games I ever played. Easily one of the best jrpgs I ever played. Love these characters and the story. This ending Is so Bittersweet. Haven't got emotional like this since KH2. What a masterpiece!

I think I read somewhere that p3's release had some controversy, from both Japan and western/non Japanese areas where the game was accessable, with the theme being death and using a gun to shoot yourself, so atlus had to make P4 a more light-hearted game with more friend and happy moments and murder, but I can't find the source to where I read it

Felt too cheese tbh, i'm glad i heard about this ending. Not that i didn't like the train one, but this didn't feel too "in your face" and i appreciate that. It was a beautiful experience.

And the game accomplishes making you feel loved, yes, but so it does with the golden ending without screaming i love you in your face. Idk, i find that much more fulfilling. I guess i'm more of a "show, don't tell" person.

Well it's because a lot of RPG games have things that we the player can't really relate to, but with the Persona games starting from P3 - P5R they added Social Links so we could feel closer to the characters besides just what we get from them in the story which makes them feel more like virtual friends rather than Videogame characters we have to defeat evil with. I remember when I first played P5 & thought the game was amazing & I am glad P4 & P4G didn't disappoint with the content despite the scale of the game being way lower than P5's was.

I thinks that's the point, Persona 3 played off on choosing your own path, Persona 4 emphasised on the bonds made between those you care about while you went down it, and Persona 5 went onto to show us that there is always consequences by choosing those you love and what is right over what is accepted and enforced.

I find this ending way better than the normal good ending.
The normal ending gave the idea that the MC is gone forever. Yes, they do say that "it won't be the last time we see each other" but it really gave off that vibe.
This ending just reassures us that the MC isn't gone forever and comes to visit every so often, but even that small of a change made me not feel empty, as opposed to the normal good ending.
I finished the game a couple of weeks ago and only just discovered that this ending existed - persona 4 is pretty damn cryptic with it's endings

Watching this 8 years later and i still cry. Even though i feel teddie's speech was a more powerful note to end on, the remake's epilogue makes me so much more happy even if it slightly subtracts from the originals power. If he were truly dead and gone, they wouldn’t imply that and not have Elizabeth leave the Velvet Room for him. And I don’t know if Dancing All Night is purely a spin off or not. If not, then he’s still keeping Nyx locked up. If so, then why? Who’s keeping Nyx separated from everything?
Of course, I might be talking out my ass here and making pure speculations. He might just be locked in the Seal for eternity unless Atlus decides to bring him back for some reason. Which would probably render his sacrifice moot.

First persona game you play always cuts the deepest when you have to leave all your friends behind after such a long and epic adventure together, but there's definitely a stronger bond between the group in 4 then any other of the games so it's a harder goodbye to swallow (and none of the waifus ever leave with you, so you feel kind of like you go through a break up as well)

Just got the Golden ending. I love this game so much, hurts that it's all over now and likely won't see them again.
But knowing Yu visits Inaba whenever he can and that the rest of the group, Rise included (cuz she's an Idol doing all sorts of things) are willing to go out of their way to make time to hang out together makes me really happy. Wonder how they're doing as a group by Persona 5.
By the time of Persona 5 (set in 2016):
1) Rise Kujikawa have successfully made her comeback as an idol. You can see her poster. There was also a report saying she may take a hiatus to help her grandma at her tofu store.
2) A news report revealed that Yukiko Amagi have taken over the Amagi Inn and she is the owner now.
3) Although not mentioned by name, there was a random person who mentioned a girl in a police academy who knows Kung Fu, which is definitely Chie Satonaka.
4) Naoto Shirogane presumably still work as a detective and she was mentioned as the first Detective Prince before Goro Akechi who became known as the second Detective Prince.
5) Yosuke Hanamura, Kanji Tatsumi and Teddie are not mentioned at all but Yosuke mentioned he planned to go to college (as he said in Arena games), Kanji might be working at his mother's textile shop and Teddie might be working in Junes.
6) As for Yu Narukami, his fate is currently unknown.

Watching the P4G Anime made Marie's job as a weather forecaster sensible. I just realized it when she said that she'll be the one keeping the fog away in the Anime. Oh and her new name, Mariko Kusumi, does make sense since her name's Marie and she was Kusumi-no-Okami
Damn. I love Naoto’s character arc. Throughout the game she felt like she needed to dress, speak, and act like a man in order to be taken seriously as a detective and as a human being, however you look at her in the time skip she fully accepts herself as woman and is proud of it. One of the best female characters ever written. Period. Also Best girl no contest.

This misunderstanding is like with Kanji. People think his arc centers around his sexuality, but in truth it was centered around the concept of masculinity and what it means to be a man. His social link is about him expressing and being accepted for his feminine hobbies despite being a dude. Naoto’s is her proving herself that her gender doesn’t make her lesser or dumber, she’s a great detective and will continue to prove that fact to herself and to others.

Starlight -angel We got plenty of love for the Persona 3 and Persona 4 casts already with Persona 4 Arena and Ultimax, AND Persona Q. If anything, I'mkind of bummed the original Persona 1 and 2 cast are completely ignored beyond the very sporadic callbacks you'd get on the TV program in Persona 3.
P1 and P2 cast aren't tied with 3 and 4, so it's impossible to add them all to one story... How combine plot with "all rumors came true" in Sumaru with Inaba events? Don't forget that behind in SL P3 they add theme od Maya from P2. I think They closed story P1 & 2 - in more decent Persona games old cast should have more than 30 years - so, it's impossible to combine all parts. Sorry for my english.

I could not actually agree with you more. I really want p5 because persona....but the p4 cast is absolute perfection (besides Yukiko). I really want to see them as adults, and how their lives went for them, but most importantly I want to see that Yu and Chie get married because she's the motherfucking best.

The connection I had with the Persona 4 cast just means something too me, It's almost felt absurdly real.

Few tears came out when I got this ending. Who wouldn't after spending 80+ hours with a cast like that. With new scenes in Golden no game can top it yet. Picked up Dancing all Night as well cuz' I just can't have enough of this gang. Well, let's see what P5 will bring on the table. ˇˇ
But man, waifu wars are still raging on. Everyone desperately trying to find good arguments that their favorite is a canon choice. We've been over this guys thousand times already. Canon is what you've done in your playthrough. All the girls like the protagonist, some are more expressive then the others and that is that. Of course romance won't continue in the new games cuz' it would be a bad decision from business standpoint. They won't say ''this is canon'' and make countless other people rage cuz' it wasn't their favorite. I love Rise myself but I'll never go and bash someone else's favorite. The girls are so awesome I'm thanking Atlus for giving us such a choice in a first place. :3
If you really think that everything about this game's story and character interactions were disappointing then this game clearly wasn't for you. Simple as that.
The school system+dating sim+dungeon crawling is something you don't see much in other JRPGs and the characters themselves are really likable, since you spend so much time with them. It's not like you see characters celebrating New Year's eve or going on a Ski trip often in video games. The duality of characters and their inner conflicts that are presented in this game are flashed out so well that are relateble to real life. Yet I see you only talking about detective story and only mentioning interactions like it's a side thing. So I stand what I said. This game is not for you cuz' you clearly went in it for a wrong reason. Yes the game is epic for a lot of people, myself included. It's an epic journey and the game clearly gives a picture for what it stands for.

The S Links don't conflict with the main plot. In terms of pure story telling, they add depth to the characters and world. The most important thing in any good story is being interested in the characters. You could have a meandering plot that barely advances at all and still have a great story if people are invested in the world and characters (See: Name of the Wind). Getting rid of the S Links would be a major detractor from both the gameplay and the story telling.
The whole plot wasn't the cast dealing with their personal issues. I don't even know where you're coming up with that. The main plot is told to you by the teacher on the school trip well in advance. This can easily be overlooked, but one of the points in a mystery is to pay attention. The game also draws extra attention to this story by giving the main character the Persona Izanagi. This is also consistent with the theme of all the character arcs. Izanagi refusing to face the truth and running away from his personal issues by locking Izanami away the same way the cast is running from their own issues. The final attack of the game is even Izanagi using "Myriad Truths" on Izanami.
The murder case was excellently written. The clues are well laid out and, like any good mystery, give you opportunities to solve things for yourself without making them obvious. The twists are surprising, but it's completely possible to predict all of them.
I don't even understand what more you could have wanted from the ending. It tied up all the character arcs and the main plot. That's the end. Did you want the game to follow them for the rest of their lives?

I do think they should have gated S Links and made it so you could only become intimate later in the game, but that's an incredibly small criticism.

It's called try-fail cycles. How the hell are you even debating the story if you missed the lecture from the teacher about Izanami and Izanagi? How did you completely miss that?
The character arcs are closed at the end of their social links. I'm sorry that you apparently prefer overwritten, ham fisted stories that overstay their welcome, but this wasn't one. It was well written, which is probably why you didn't like it.

Between this true ending and 5’s, it’s good to know for certain that Atlus will always have me on strings when it comes to eliciting the intended emotions. Golden leaving me very happy and the post royal depression still going strong over a month later

At least with royal you can jump straight in to strikers to ease the depression - the gameplay is a bit of a janky beat em up and not as refined but it's still very nice to see the phantom thieves back together again for a pretty fun adventure.
With everyone's glow-up my favorite's still Nanako's. She looks so grown up and I felt immense pride for her

Got a little teary eyed when saying goodbye both before and after the final boss. And then when Yukiko said "Thank you for everything" I fully lost it with everyone else's words of affection. I love this game so much.
looking back at this now is ridiculous but the p5 protagonist literally is chained to a jail and gets beaten up by his attendants in the velvet room, while yu gets a limo, free with booze and music.
Each Velvet Room represents the trial of the guest.

.... God damn, I love Persona 4! This is the game that finally got me hooked up to the Persona Series itself. And I gain interest in the other Shin Megami Tensei games as well. And while I'm not interested in the main game and the other spin-offs, I find them pretty awesome. X3
And the other thing that got me hook up to Persona is Teddie. Well, he is soooo cute and adorable. If he was real, I will not pet him, unless he says so. X3

I love P4 golden's epilogue, I couldn't help but smile and laugh a bit throughout the whole thing.
"Although my heart may be weak, it's not alone. It's grown with each new experience. And it's found a home with all the friends I've made. I've become a part of their heart, just as they've become a part of mine. And if they think of me now and then, if they don't forget me, then our hearts will be one. I don't need a weapon. My friends are my power!"...And by kingdom hearts logic Yu took over the universe. And no one had dinner that night. I'm sorry I'm an American playing a Japanese video game and I didn't feel like using google ok?...Such a great game.
By Kingdom Hearts logic, Yu just killed Xehanort, got the X-Blade, and opened up Kingdom Hearts.
I know we're all here to relive the conclusion to this great game, but I also want to take a moment to gush over how much I like the new character art for everyone at the end. And it's not just because they stylistically still look great, but because it each design shows visually how far they've all come.
Yosuke's pink shirt shorter hair is, while not necessarily feminine, not traditionally masculine. He spends the bulk of the game trying to be a tough cool guy, but now feels perfectly comfortable expressing himself just as he is.
Chie meanwhile has ditched her kung fu aesthetic regarding her jacket and haircut. While she still no doubt loves them all, it shows she feels more confident in her abilities to protect herself and those she cares for that she doesn't need to don the warrior costume.
Yumiko's clothing is more relaxed and with a less professional/girl boss vibe. It shows she doesn't feel the need to live up to expectations of her family's inn, and that she can do what she chooses.
Kanji's is a pretty stark and obvious contrast, since he went from punk atire to nerd atire. But since he knows he can still kick anyone's ass and that he's fine being who is, it doesn't matter what he presents himself as.
Rise's look is more glamourous and flashy, showing she's come to terms with that side of herself who likes it while still not going to the extremes her pop star life was like before.
Naoto's look is also quite obvious, no longer wearing concealing clothing that hides her gender. She's fine with who she is, and presenting herself as such.
Even Teddie, who desperately wanted to be a lady's man with that open shirt corsage thing he had on before is willing to don more moderate clothing.
All of these characters face their true self, grow, and change and I love that we see that change in the epilogue well after the protagonist leaves. It's another facet that makes these characters feel so real and why the Persona series is so damn good at getting the player invested in everybody. Kudos to everyone at Atlas, and I can't wait to see what they have planned for Persona 6!
Oh, and Marie's a weather girl I guess. Sure, why not...

Steel Midnight I know right, I was playing the third game for the first time when they announced this one on pc it was just way too lucky.
Every 6 to 12 months I come back to re-watch the train scene, and every time I cry like a baby.
When the gang runs with the train is IMPOSSIBLE not to cry.
This time I rewatched all of it, including the epilogue. Gives the ending a fairly happy tone.

The only difference that the anime only has that is better than this ending is yu saying how he'll never forget them
