Need your thoughts please. I have 2007 Chevy impala also and the transmission fluid drains within two days after I just put some in? Broken line maybe?
Lol. Mine makes that same sound in The dash. Lol. Thought it was mice at first. I noticed the sou d happens every single time you close the door and the dome light times out. Right before it times out the sound happens. Open Open door and close it and wait. On time everytime. I've been having a major issue with stalling after driving 20 minutes. Or it can be parked and once fully warmed up about 15 to 20 minutes in it stalls. No engine light on. Got a c0561 code. Traction Control. Abs is messed up on driver side. But when it stalls after its all warmed up if you are driving you can Rev it back to life and it will backfire and run rough but stay alive. I've you are stopped you can catch it but it happens fast and without notice. Unless its during a Rev or acceleration. Then you can catch it. Backfire back to life and the tachometer stops working. Let it sit for a bit and cool down and it will run until it gets all warmed up again. When it starts after a full stall the tachometer will work again. But if you catch it and Rev it the tachometer go out.
Stalling was the crank sensor and the harness was trash so we rebuild the harness from three separate pigtails. A three pin, a two pin, and a 5 pin connector spliced together worked amazingly. No more stalling. Chevy wanted 3200, to do the sensor and pull a head to change a broken bolt. Got it all done at my super Pakistani mechanic for 1200. I paid separately for parts.
GM needs to make a website where you can order new transmissions from them because many are used, rebuilt and won't last they need to sell some or recall them it ain't too late because police enforcers use them also
2011 Impala 3500 V6. Sometimes when I come to a stop light the engine revs up but the car moves very slow. If I hold the gas peddle down I'll feel "something" kick hard & the car will jolt forward like normal. I've gotten to where I accelerate very slow from a stop, so if I feel the car reving up but not really moving I back off the gas pedal. After it starts slowly moving forward it will accelerate normally. This is a sometimes thing, but I think it's happening more often. Would anyone think it's the transmission??
@@moneyhungry5.743 No sir. It happens on random occasions. (Not often) A couple of notable incidents were when driving very slowly up a steep hill. I'm wondering if it's an electrical problem (bad wiring harness). Maybe it's the traction control acting up? Maybe it is the beginning stage of a bad transmission. I drive it like a baby now. My 2007 did the same thing. Bought it at 64k and noticed it soon after owning it. Lasted to 160k but finally went. But I think that is the beginning of them going bad
The main problem is that cheap asf shifter cable that gets stuck somewhere in the way back or forth thats what is burning transmissions since we dont pay attention to the weird sounds that makes because its driving just fine...nevertheless its wearing out the transmission faster than it should not shifting right into the right fork or gear letting it jump back and forth if it wants

@@aksgarage3230 no it really wasn't, my car is still drivable but the transmission shifts hard now and revs a little high. I'm going to buy another transmission but I need to know what one to buy. Got any advice?
Those actuators under the dash on the Impalas do that and it's very annoying! I'm on my 3rd set. Luckily it's an easy fix taking out the glove compartment thankfully. I have an original transmission with 212,000 miles on it and I'm having the exact same issue with my transmission now.
I hate those actuators. There very cheaply made. You know i wonder if these car manufacturers test the cars out before they put them out for sale now days. The impala wouldn't make it to a hundred thousand miles on transmission, power steering pump, the actuators, the driver door, headlight brackets.
I had a 2005 Impala with the 3.8 and the trans went bad at 131,000 miles....Solenoids went bad causing harsh shifts and then one day, heard what sounded like marbles circulating around inside the trans and then after that started happening, the trans would only work when car was cold...As soon as it warmed up, it would not move. Trans shop said that the clutch material on the lockup torque converter had broken down and circulated into the trans, clogging the filter and passageways. They installed a rebuilt transmission and I drove the car another 120,000 miles, finally retiring the car this month due to other issues at 251,000 miles. These 4T65E transmissions seem to run hot.....I changed the fluid on the 2nd transmission with 40,000 miles after installation (171,000 miles on car by then) and the fluid had already gone from a light pink color to a dark dark red....almost black....so there were issues with the design of that transmission. GM switched over to a 6 speed automatic on later model Impalas which hopefully is a better transmission.....I bought a used 2017 Impala a few weeks ago with the 6 speed and 32,000 miles.
I had two Impalas. One a 2003 Impala LS with the 3.8 V-6, and the other a 2005 with the 3.4 V-6. Both had transmission problems with the clutch. It's not the solonoid. The transmission shops, and GM dealer's service department said they all do it. The GM dealer also said the same transmission appeared in the Buick Century, Skylark, and Le Sabre. The problem is the engines have torque the transmission cannot handle. Even with the fluid changes, and new filter every 25,000 miles, I still had transmission problems. The transmission fails between 65,000, and 70,000 miles. The shops say they all do it, and they find clutch material inside the transmission upon teardown. The cost was about $3,500.00 each time I had to replace. After replacing the tranny's, the top end gaskets failed on both cars, and that was another $2,500. each time to repair. The heads on the engine had to be removed, and sent to a machine shop. After the same problem on both cars, I said I was done with the Impala.

@@aksgarage3230 so my Impala won't move in Drive but moves when I put it in first but after runs through every gear good in your opinion would you think it's worth it to do the solenoids just did the fluid and filter in transmission
The transmission routinely gets too hot because stupid GM made some cars with the radiator end caps on the sides instead of the top and bottom. Therefore they have to put the transmission cooler in the side oriented vertically instead of in the bottom horizontally. The radiator is 30 degrees hotter in the top than the bottom--about 215 versus 185. The upper part of the transmission cooler is always too hot. Transmissions need to stay below 200. An auxiliary cooler will prevent 90% of the problems if installed soon enough before too much damage is done. Dumb ass GM engineers.
Its really not the fluid that's the problem. Its temperature. A lot of the transmissions are running too hot which will cook the fluid. Also if you have a cvt its poor design.

The SS's (V8 Models) are almost a guarantee to have the transmission go bad. The stock trans is an HD, and it still isn't enough. It's a FWD car with a fair amount of heat giving into the trans. Googling Ls4, will help you. The car has It's own following and manufacturers of aftermarket parts and rebuilds. To help save your transmission, a tru-cool 40k trans cooler is great for them. Not a transmission problem but I just bought a 06 Impala LTZ with 180k miles and there is dried oil on the front side of the engine near the engine cover. The car has been sitting for 6 months but I was thinking it could possibly be the Intake manifold gasket. Any ideas?
Valve cover. The front of that v6 engine is at the front passenger wheel. So where is the oil leak?
I got a 2009 Chevy impala lt with no reverse…do u know if it’s a easy fix ?
This may be the reverse band. Just rebuild it or get another transmission.
I have a 2008 with a 6cyl and since day one when in gear it disengages when stopped and slips and bangs into gear when you accelerate . No one seems to know whats causing it , anybody got an idea ?
This sounds like a torque converter, Transmission fluid pump or solenoids.
@@aksgarage3230 Thanks Bro ! will look at that.
Need your thoughts please. I have 2007 Chevy impala also and the transmission fluid drains within two days after I just put some in? Broken line maybe?
Transmission holes leak probably
Had that same thing on my 2001 Buick LeSabre
Did you ever figure it out
?
@@moneyhungry5.743 No sir. It happens on random occasions. (Not often) A couple of notable incidents were when driving very slowly up a steep hill. I'm wondering if it's an electrical problem (bad wiring harness). Maybe it's the traction control acting up? Maybe it is the beginning stage of a bad transmission. I drive it like a baby now. I hope it doesn't conk out on a trip many miles from home. As usual, if I can't figure it out myself nobody can help me.
My 2007 did the same thing. Bought it at 64k and noticed it soon after owning it. Lasted to 160k but finally went. But I think that is the beginning of them going bad
I have a problem on my trash machine when you drive-in shipping start nature
When you replace the shift solenoids. Replace all of them at once
Well done 👍 Thanks for sharing. New Sub
I have a 06 Chevy impala 3.5 and it’s slipping so bad. I replaced fluid, trans pan and filter but still slipping. I guess could be the clutches but I have no idea how to do that
Probably the solenoids in transmission!!!
Mines was the same as yours replaced pan gasket and filter thank God it worked ! Got stuck in the desert at night lol
The transmission in my red 2009 impala is going out I had an axle seal go out and it dumped all the transmission fluid and I drove it for a week
This isn't good.
@@aksgarage3230 no it really wasn't, my car is still drivable but the transmission shifts hard now and revs a little high. I'm going to buy another transmission but I need to know what one to buy. Got any advice?
Can you fix mines it’s leaking bad
Yes. I'm sure it's leaking out at the dip stick
I need your help my car won’t start but the radio and everything work
Talk to me. Maybe I can help
@ericknoblauch9195 I'm at 205,000 right now on my 2004 impala and just started to bang into gear just did timing chain, lower and upper intake, think went to deep I'm happy with the 3.8l engine but the tranny might be the death of her, what ur thoughts needs an entire rebuild or can u swap solenoids and cross fingers at 205,000 was just hoping to get it to 300 but think might be time😢
Any updates about this issue?
I haven't had time because I'm fixing car after car.
I still have the transmission and I will make a video.
chevy impala 2011 as well. My mecanic removed it opened it fix some stuff but it's still not doing so well.
It's better to just get another transmission
@@aksgarage3230 I think you're right man! Thanks!
You have to examine the whole inside of the transmission then replace.
What kind of transmission do you have?
I have 3.5 2011 ls impala
I wish you would make a video of the transmission not going in the drive and pulling
I do have one.
i got a 2008 impala ss , and the car cranks and then dies but when it does not die immediately it’ll rev real high but wont go nowhere or it’ll get to 20mph then slowly lose speed when im reviving it then once it reaches 0mph it’ll either die or just stop moving
Ok. I like for you to do test for me. Put the car in gear 1 then try to drive off. After that i want you to put the car in gear 2 and try to drive off. After this tell me how it drove.
@@aksgarage3230 it just dies and when he doesn’t js die it wont move
@@nostickdrfit how did you make out with your transmission?
We have an 07 Impala that is doing the same thing, but it has 230,000 miles on it with the original transmission.
Mines is the same thing 07 with about 237732 miles on it & my transmission is not working.
Mine went out at 107
They definitely all make that sound, I think theirs a fan that gets caught and makes the noise, if the noise on the passenger side you can take glove box out and see the fan
That sound is annoying you are correct from the A/C
I have a 07 LT 3.5 I had the transmission rebuilt twice😩and also had it opened back up a more work done 1 year later🙄🤦🏾♀️
Nothing new with these transmissions. The engine is great but the transmissions just isn't. good.
They do sell the solenoids separately
If you have 177,000 thousand miles on it your going to need the whole service. A new, or rebuilt, or a used low mile transmission replacement.
I will be making a video on that transmission teardown
@@aksgarage3230 Hey Ak, I have a 08 that made it 280,000 miles before it went to crap. It's been leaking for 3 or 4 years but I stayed up on fluid level. Did you ever make a part 2 to the transmission removal video? I would also love to see the tear down video also. I have replaced them blend doors 3 times as well, you get about 2 years out of them it seems. I unplug them till I get a chance to replace them to avoid going crazy. Thanks for the content 👍
Yo where are you located?
Texas
To late after you bought gm. Folks quit buying g.m. When you drop the T. Oil pan there are accumlator pumps check for loose steel tubs and the rubber hose connector to steel lines that have springs + pistons you get from a shift kit. Each pump is labeled like 1-2, 2-3 etc. May Not solve the problem but $60 for parts.
I'm trying to figure out why my impala won't stay in park after I take the emergency brake off
There's a number of two reasons.
1 trans brake broken in the transmission.
2 you never put it in park.
Look at the linkage on the transmission.
Vale body, channel plate rebuild is the main topic for these
So far mines is solid 240k but I don't abuse it,or haul ass from light to light. I do how ever service it every 50k
Hey bro I had a question
Ok
My car will reverse but it won’t move in drive
Omg that clicking in the god damn dash drives me nuts sometimes!
Sound like it is the rubber and plastic around steering column sometimes!
What'd you see???
Have not looked yet. Working on a audi right now.
👍
I have problems with my 07 ss monte carlo transmission. Once it warms up car does not move but if I start the car while its cold the car will move ???
This sounds like a bad solenoid. Its inside the transmission. Basically a rebuild time. But solenoids can be changed.
I have metal flakes in my transmission oil
No it’s not cool to waste your time I done replaced the solenoids and still have issues it ran great for like a day then it wouldn’t go past 20
And that damn blend door is always the passenger side one, the one that is a pain to replace. :(
Doesn't that drive you crazy!
I have a 2011 impala 3.9 reverse works but won't shift into drive
I HAAATE my 2011 LS that I JUUUUST bought 3 months ago... dash tick noise and all!
I got a 2005 Chevy Impala
Dam I just bought a 07 impala
If people would drop the pan and change the filter. The transmission would last longer.
Its really not the fluid that's the problem. Its temperature. A lot of the transmissions are running too hot which will cook the fluid. Also if you have a cvt its poor design.
@@aksgarage3230 Temp is not the problem. People think when they see burn clutches. The unit over heated. Burn clutches come from too much slipping.
@@blackericdenice your both wrong GM used cheap parts in them so they fail even if you change fluid i know iv had 5 of them 100 to 200 k max if change fluid every 50k miles
@@jonsworld5307 You are wrong. GM used better parts than the transmission shops. If you change the filter one time @ 50k miles. The trans will go well over 200k miles. You are lying about you had 5 of them. You would be a fool to keep buying them.
@@blackericdenice 4 of the 5 was in same car hated to not fix it to good of car then i found one or sell cheap got it to teach kid to drive in everyone after it went bad i said id never by another even if its great deal shops one told me there some kind pin in there they used wrong metal thats what brakes but not worth rebuilding
just unplug the blend door motor simple
2008 chev impala
The SS's (V8 Models) are almost a guarantee to have the transmission go bad. The stock trans is an HD, and it still isn't enough.
It's a FWD car with a fair amount of heat giving into the trans. Googling Ls4, will help you.
The car has It's own following and manufacturers of aftermarket parts and rebuilds.
To help save your transmission, a tru-cool 40k trans cooler is great for them.
A tune will also extend the life of the transmission.
I own an '09, it's getting its 2nd replacement transmission put in.
Great cars otherwise.
This is the absolute truth my 07 SS trans went out just out the blue
The gears are plastic
You are talking too much need to get to the problem was wrong with it
Get to the point next time.
That sound is annoying you are correct from the A/C
