I don't know enough about D2R as I'm just now seeing this content come up on my screen but thought i'd chime in here to say that back from playing vanilla D2 all the way to LOD 1.14d, I decided I was done. I really didn't want to go back (it was an addiction TBH) and I was curious about all these bot runs so I figured I would try one and if I get banned, good riddance. I kid you not, I ran this bot for 3 months day and night on a dedicated machine and eventually got gear so good I only had the bot setup to pick up JAH BER or ZOD. In 3 months of 24/7 playtime it found one Jah and one Ber. This really helped me solidify my desire to not go back to this level of RNG scarcity ever again. You have the patience of a saint!
I played D2:LoD every day, all day, for 18 months to grind up from my first Gul rune to my first Enigma through trading and drops. No FG, just in-game trading. I spent more time playing than trading which is why it took so long. Then once I got my Enigma on my pally I realised he was just another sorc and found it to be pointless. So I decided to run a bot. I left it running overnight doing Pindleskin and it found nothing on value. So I turned it off, uninstalled and didn't play again until D2r.
I played a lot when LOD came out then put it down when I went to college. I got back into D2 in 2007. I figured rather than grind for hours I'll just buy the gear for 10 bucks. The site even gave free runes of choice with purchases. I decked out my bowazon and quit within a week. I had nothing left to do and realized I waisted 10 bucks. I just got back into D2R and play offline nice and casual.
I played seriously when D2R first dropped. I was playing 3-4 hour daily for 3 months. This is what it took to make enigma and a few other bis items. In hindsight, moments after I tried it out on my windy Druid, I realized the goal had been reached but also - the goal never really mattered. So my Druid can teleport… so what? I quit for the next year and recently been playing a bit more. The game is too scarce it’s not satisfying. It used to be a fun challenge. But I run 2 businesses, working on an album, a book.. it can’t be done casually

Once you've a near best in slot char it's realy boring because you've no longer any goals to farm twards, just more "wealth" but for what point? kills the game. I've played since og d2 non exp, d2 has always been one of my main games, altho it's much like PoE these days. I play hard for 2-3 months then quit, come back for reset and repeat. And past resets i played d2r classic to try get those old og feelings back, it's fun but also dead as hell. it's like 50 ppl playing lol. And since i'm a PoE player, i tend to play the d2 mod PoD, path of diabo. It's great and good community. Sadly d2r kind of ruined it for me since i got used to the new enchanced graphics, in some way i still prefer the old ones especially weapons/gear skins. But the overall pixelated mess it is once you're used d2r makes it harder to go back. And ye lately i've had d2 itch again but decided to not go online this time since trading makes the game obsolete so fast. And i think game wanted to hook me right back in due i found maras 27 in act 3 hell, then ber rune in chaos. Running a trap assa. So been running some cows for rw bases and hopefully runes. I don't think i can stomach lk runs, to boring and in a way it feels like cheating to me since i'm so used to farming online where you can't just p7 and spam lk over and over. So i'm afraid if i do that and get my infi i'll just get bored and quit again just like in the ladders. Which brings me back to the rmt thing, i just don't get it. Buying your way out of the fun of the game.
It's more about how those 52 hours were spent. Personally, I wouldn't touch D2 another 2 years completely exhausted and completely forgetting what the game is about on the first place.

I love your editing style, it's so addicting to watch. The little cards at the corner showing the item rolls is a great idea for people like me who don't play much d2. @@Little_86 It's a while ago, so I'm not sure. But a rough estimate is 25 seconds per run including load times. That adds up to about 35 hours of mindless grinding 😅 With the help of a lot of podcasts to make it bearable ☺️
Now I feel super lucky I got a Ber rune just as I barely finished hell with my assassin years ago. Came back to d2 and did a paladin playthrough and shortly after entering the endgame I got a ber and a jah very close together in worldstone keep playing totally casually and slow (took me 1h to do countess, summoner, duriel, meph, diablo and ball) And this was on battlenet with players 1.
I've mostly been playing with my Pitzerker for the last few weeks, but this video made me want to farm L.K. with my sorc. I already have Enigma, Infinity, and two Griefs, and a 6-Ist Phase Blade, but I'd like to get some more runewords. I did 18 minutes of farming yesterday with no luck. Today, I played for another 18 minutes on P-7 and I found a Pally Combat skiller, a Gul, and a Vex. Nice Channel!

Personally i think the hoto helped you a lot & the runs would have taken many more hours if not for you making it. Just my opinion.. but I am of the mindset that improving your character is by far the best investment possible, so take that for what it's worth. Very good video. GG man! that was some patience! i'm also in sp and in abount 2700 hr of playtime since diablo 2 released i have 4 enigma, 2 infinity, 2 grief, dream helm and shield and much more. One time i couldn't sleep so i was up at 2 am and did some farming in the pit and a JAH rune dropped! anyway i really like your videos and i can't wait for the next. cheers

I can totally relate to that. In the original d2 I had dozens of characters parked in nightmare and would also gear up new MF characters only to do 20-50 runs and then abandon them. Making videos for this channel as an additional “goal” has helped me a lot with actually finishing the projects I start!
Wow after 3600 runs combined getting Egnima is crazy. Sick video man. Ive never played in a none trading league but now I feel the pain of ssf players and some even gets fully geared in season time which is even more crazy!!!
doing ssf online 10 times harder. -no players X -no fixed maps (and no rerolling maps to get 'good' map as a consequence) -load times worse -hello failed teleports -no failsafe S&Q on HC.
Trading is not a true diablo experience as Eric Schaeffer confirmed. And seriously, you don't need Enigma or Infinity to absolutely dominate. That's where D2 beauty lies, you can have great value from much less time invested. Those 52 hours, if it wouldn't be for a video is a greatest diminishing return from a video game I've ever seen. There is truly no challenge except you can afford to waste time and health (both physical and mental)
You've found so many more high runes in those thousands of runs than me. Think the highest i've found was Vex. Maybe Ohm and that probably once or twice.
@Kuumior6 sure I have ive beaten hell with a Paladin, with Baranars Star, I found 2 pul runes for an Um to get Duress. Also i beat hell with a summon Necro, with mid gear. Which is pretty damn easy. I dont play the other characters much. Another thing too. I've been playing for a long time, but I don't sit there doing 1000s of runs that absolutely insane to me, but the fact I've never found top tier equipment besides like those top tier javelin, I cant remember the name at the moment, or a few skill charms and SoJ and jewels is incredible if you add up 20+ years of playing. Ive been playing D2R since it came out and still nothing
gz, I am on the same journey with my paladin in SP. 1xBer and 3xSur in stash, also 15%ed 3s MP waiting. Just wanted to add that I have found some wild stuff in P8 LK, for example 27 Mara from a log, a few shakos, arach from a corpse, 3x pala combat sk and the runes (Ber from basket + Vex from regular chest) to make a 40 hoto & coh. I thought Sur runes were my thing as I've gotten like 6 or 7 in total. You have proven yourself and earned a subscriber! 😁
That was really nice of you to show me why i never got any further than a single Sur with this strategy. I probably did like 5% of the amount of runs you did. Just don't ever joke with a Ber hovering over the armour again please :(
That is the thing about this game. There are many items I have never found in this game. Yesterday I decided to make my first ladder hardcore character - a bit late compare to most people. And as I went through Act five normal a unique ring dropped. I just went on and forgot about it, so when I went back to town I realised it was a Soj. I could almost not believe my eyes.
There's something really satisfying listening to other people's journeys about grinding while powerleveling yourself. Factorio, Pokemon, Musou games, Ranked matches, PoE, what have you

You're a madman. I can safely say that without online trading, I would barely get anywhere. I barely get anywhere with it. It would hurt my soul to have to combine 2 Bers into a Jah.
Blessed Hammer is really blessed as farming everything is super easy. All you need is time and patience. The very first character players should be building is Paladin Blessed Hammer so they could farm for items safely.
@@myztikgohan No enemy in this game is immune to blessed hammer while there are combinations like immune to cold/fire, lightning/cold, fire/lightning... which are a problem for the sorceress (unless you ruined her by building all 3 elemental skill trees) and you need to leave it in the hands of your mercenary. Blessed Hammer is unstoppable. And who needs teleport if you have Vigor aura and the area waypoints?

I had started this same challenge, from scratch full bis (aside from rolls) paladin totally solo in offline mode. Stumbled across this video while looking for some background youtube during farming and getting a sense of how much time this might take somehow made me feel better. This video just made me play D2R again. Was playing the mod Project Diablo 2, but i kinda missed the base game a lot in my subconscious. Its about time we put our precious freetime into countless disappointing runs. Good work!
The Hammerdin ... I am pretty sure I invented the build. As I was writing about it at the D2 Tavern forums decades ago, everybody was still like: MiD-sKilLs arR bS tHiS iS bAd! A year later everyone was playing Hammerdin ... ah, good old times.
@@w0pke They certainly did. I am not insisting that I was the first coming up with it. Interent wasn't that common a thing back then, surely many players who never showed up online did the build before. But as I proposed the build to the world, everyone was still like I said above. There was this notion that ONLY the high-level skills where any good, which is BS as we know today.
I did the same soul-crushing thing on Plugy SP while I was living abroad during COVID, but on a 200% FCR Sorc, so the LK runs were significantly faster. I was planning to build an infinity next but couldn't farm 2 more BERs so I just enjoyed the Enigma and made a pitzerker. Good times !
Man those WT's gamble is crazy ! Gg you are a machine. I recently made my first ssf enigma by cubing bers I found during farming.. 5 bers and not a single jah, my heart broke when I cubed 2 bers tho

I've done that grind years ago on vanilla D2 and it is as painful as described, maybe even worst 😆 But recently I've started D2R from scratch and I I've been insanely lucky, I just found both a Jah and a Ber off of Pindleskin on my first char, blizz sorc, in the span on just 2 days (maybe a total of 4-5 hrs) right after finishing Hell. At least I'm happy I don't have to farm LK for now 🤣
I can't believe I used to spam runs like this too... granted it was an online toon but good lord It's hard to think i'd spend months doing this. Loved doing it though! Nothing felt better than making my own farmed enigma spirit and hoto when I was 13 during summer break back in 2003/2004 - Also to answer your question if you are crazy. All of us Diablo 2 players are crazy to farm the way we do. But somehow we have fun doing it. Loved the vid :)
i stopped playing d2 mid through act 3 campaign...never seen engame for myself, i dont know what all those runes and charms and unique do but dang i watched this video and i like it =)
I found my Ber and Jah both in Travical about 90 runs apart a few years ago. That hammerdin is still sitting there waiting for me to come back. This video makes me wanna go back
That’s the dream! Cubing Bers to a Jah was painful but it’s so hard to find Jah runes SSF. Same, the enigma Paladin has gotten very little playtime after I made this video

What a wonderful video! I love you way you used those low level runewords and a hammerdin, your recipe is almost identical to my old ladder start character. Dual spirits, lore and stealth. I actually prefer the dual spirits than a hoto and spirit, its 1 less skill but better FHR and mana etc. I also think you did the grind wrong. 🙂 of course LK chests are great, but my ladder technique from the old days was to run river of flame with the hammerdin. Its a lvl 85 area, so can drop hi runes no probs and is a very easy access area with big ooen spaces for the hammerdin. Basically i would just rack up max kills there and get godly loot, including hi runes, just from the monsters. Remeber they increased the chance of HR drops from monsters, to stop people farming countess and chests. Anyway from your 30 hours of farming you would have got tons of exp, much better loot, and more hi runes if you just did river of flame runs and kill everything. And it is reasonably pleasant running that area with a hammerdin, much nicer than 1000 LK grinds 😎

Been doing a couple cows since my gear is still trash, and well hoping for RW. (edit, RW bases) Considering doing the kurast farm, and its how i ended up on this video. I think you just convinced me of sticking to cows/chaos for abit because atleast that's fun :D Also holy crap that sur drop near miss... Makes me miss lootfilter from PoD (path of diablo, d2 og mod) But ye for surs or maybe a ber which i would need for infi perhaps kurast is the way to go. Altho since i'm used to online play, i almost feel like sp kurast runs feels like cheating, even tho it'll take 1000+ runs lol.
from my xp from similar projects from starting out in hell: nothing beats Kurast rack and chest runs, you can almost force good bases (including pala shields), decent charms, a broad variety of lower mid runes and crafting materials with little to no fighting; so no cows or countess required Edit: oh, 30 seconds later into the video you're doing exactly that

5:41 - depending on loading time switching acts to repair your staff might be a good idea, for example in act V Larzuk is just next to waypoint. But that's just a small optimization that doesn't make sense, because you're probably spending much more time on other stuff, not sure why I brought that up :) I also did some LK runs with Pala, but it's nothign compared to what I've done with Sorc. If you do it with Sorc then you probably hate doing it with any other char even more. Respect!
@TagLizzard I’m not a HC player so don’t take my word too seriously, but probably something safe like a Paladin, or a wind or fire Druid. I like the necro as well with minions and curses, but at least if it were me the risk of a mistake would be high and his life pool is much smaller. Though if going for 99 I would pick the class I enjoy the most
you have convinced me that without trading I don't like this game. I'm not doing nearly this much even if I am grinding for something. This is just too much. Like Diablo 2 needs to take those 2000 runs to find something and divide it in half at least. I like Diablo 2, but not enough for the amount of effort it takes to do this. Maybe like 10 - 15 years ago. Congrats on finding out how much work it takes, and confirming it takes way too much.
I think you want to play vanilla D2R. But i recommend 1-2 Mods for you. 1. Pseudo Loot Filter --> this is a perfect loot filter for you. You can disable every item you dont want, so these items will replaced with NoDrop. 2. Light Pillar Expanded --> you get for some items you want a light pillar. This is perfect if there drops a high rune but you didnt see it. There are many other mods for like a bigger stash or up to 8 stash tabs (1 charakter and 7 for your account). But i think the 2 mods above would be very nice for you. :)

Found spellsteel on nightmare. It gave me the ability to fast track difficult areas in Hellmode like the maggots lair and act 3. It kinda gets expensive, specially for ort runes, but it gives you the ability to farm chaos sanctuary must earlier than usual until you get your own Enigma.
Now you have the Enigma, you can farm more efficiently.....by going back to lower kurast and opening chest!

Also, I used a sorceress with max fcr and high running speed, so my runs would have been quite a bit faster than yours. Still, such a boring grind 😅 I also ended up having to cube some runes to get to Enigma, but it's just what you have to do on single player 🙃
Interesting that you didn’t find a single sur while I found 5 (ok I guess only 3 were from LK). D2 rng is really random.

@@Little_86 It's a while ago, so I'm not sure. But a rough estimate is 25 seconds per run including load times. That adds up to about 35 hours of mindless grinding 😅 With the help of a lot of podcasts to make it bearable ☺️
Now I feel super lucky I got a Ber rune just as I barely finished hell with my assassin years ago. Came back to d2 and did a paladin playthrough and shortly after entering the endgame I got a ber and a jah very close together in worldstone keep playing totally casually and slow (took me 1h to do countess, summoner, duriel, meph, diablo and ball) And this was on battlenet with players 1.
I've mostly been playing with my Pitzerker for the last few weeks, but this video made me want to farm L.K. with my sorc. I already have Enigma, Infinity, and two Griefs, and a 6-Ist Phase Blade, but I'd like to get some more runewords. I did 18 minutes of farming yesterday with no luck. Today, I played for another 18 minutes on P-7 and I found a Pally Combat skiller, a Gul, and a Vex.

That War Trav is a thing of beauty from gambling haha. great video though. You've given me more motivation to finish my enigma grind on single player.
Personally i think the hoto helped you a lot & the runs would have taken many more hours if not for you making it. Just my opinion.. but I am of the mindset that improving your character is by far the best investment possible, so take that for what it's worth. Very good video. I really enjoyed the editing involved with the bonus drops; it was so seamless that you don't even notice it's there. Very good. Thank you for posting. I will be watching more.

GG man! that was some patience! i'm also in sp and in abount 2700 hr of playtime since diablo 2 released i have 4 enigma, 2 infinity, 2 grief, dream helm and shield and much more. One time i couldn't sleep so i was up at 2 am and did some farming in the pit and a JAH rune dropped! anyway i really like your videos and i can't wait for the next. cheers
Well done mate. I always aspire to do these kinds of things, but get maybe 50-100 runs into it and give up cause nothing drops...I admire your determination friend!
I can totally relate to that. In the original d2 I had dozens of characters parked in nightmare and would also gear up new MF characters only to do 20-50 runs and then abandon them.
Making videos for this channel as an additional “goal” has helped me a lot with actually finishing the projects I start!

Wow after 3600 runs combined getting Egnima is crazy. Sick video man. Ive never played in a none trading league but now I feel the pain of ssf players and some even gets fully geared in season time which is even more crazy!!!

Trading is not a true diablo experience as Eric Schaeffer confirmed. And seriously, you don't need Enigma or Infinity to absolutely dominate. That's where D2 beauty lies, you can have great value from much less time invested. Those 52 hours, if it wouldn't be for a video is a greatest diminishing return from a video game I've ever seen. There is truly no challenge except you can afford to waste time and health (both physical and mental)
You've found so many more high runes in those thousands of runs than me.
Think the highest i've found was Vex. Maybe Ohm and that probably once or twice.
For reals, ive been playing for more than 20+ years and have never found anything higher than a pul

@Kuumior6 sure I have ive beaten hell with a Paladin, with Baranars Star, I found 2 pul runes for an Um to get Duress. Also i beat hell with a summon Necro, with mid gear. Which is pretty damn easy. I dont play the other characters much. Another thing too. I've been playing for a long time, but I don't sit there doing 1000s of runs that absolutely insane to me, but the fact I've never found top tier equipment besides like those top tier javelin, I cant remember the name at the moment, or a few skill charms and SoJ and jewels is incredible if you add up 20+ years of playing. Ive been playing D2R since it came out and still nothing
gz, I am on the same journey with my paladin in SP. 1xBer and 3xSur in stash, also 15%ed 3s MP waiting.
Just wanted to add that I have found some wild stuff in P8 LK, for example 27 Mara from a log, a few shakos, arach from a corpse, 3x pala combat sk and the runes (Ber from basket + Vex from regular chest) to make a 40 hoto & coh. I thought Sur runes were my thing as I've gotten like 6 or 7 in total.

That was really nice of you to show me why i never got any further than a single Sur with this strategy. I probably did like 5% of the amount of runs you did. Just don't ever joke with a Ber hovering over the armour again please :(

To put things in perspective, i still havent found a single soj in 20 years+ of gaming.
That is the thing about this game. There are many items I have never found in this game. Yesterday I decided to make my first ladder hardcore character - a bit late compare to most people. And as I went through Act five normal a unique ring dropped. I just went on and forgot about it, so when I went back to town I realised it was a Soj. I could almost not believe my eyes.
I think I've found 4 soj since the game came out... only item I've not found is Tyrials might...
There's something really satisfying listening to other people's journeys about grinding while powerleveling yourself.

You're a madman. I can safely say that without online trading, I would barely get anywhere. I barely get anywhere with it. It would hurt my soul to have to combine 2 Bers into a Jah.
Blessed Hammer is really blessed as farming everything is super easy. All you need is time and patience. The very first character players should be building is Paladin Blessed Hammer so they could farm for items safely.
Killing monsters doesn't matter for Lower Kurast runs, first character should be a Sorc for Teleport
@@myztikgohan No enemy in this game is immune to blessed hammer while there are combinations like immune to cold/fire, lightning/cold, fire/lightning... which are a problem for the sorceress (unless you ruined her by building all 3 elemental skill trees) and you need to leave it in the hands of your mercenary. Blessed Hammer is unstoppable. And who needs teleport if you have Vigor aura and the area waypoints?

I had started this same challenge, from scratch full bis (aside from rolls) paladin totally solo in offline mode. Stumbled across this video while looking for some background youtube during farming and getting a sense of how much time this might take somehow made me feel better. I guess we are all inherently insane
Diablo II taught me a lot... about programming. Because I made a custom bot to avoid all the grinding. While on a private hacked server that is xD
This video just made me play D2R again. Was playing the mod Project Diablo 2, but i kinda missed the base game a lot in my subconscious. Its about time we put our precious freetime into countless disappointing runs. Good work!

The Hammerdin ... I am pretty sure I invented the build. As I was writing about it at the D2 Tavern forums decades ago, everybody was still like: MiD-sKilLs arR bS tHiS iS bAd! A year later everyone was playing Hammerdin ... ah, good old times.
With a millions of players lamerdins were just a fact. If anyone invented it, it was the devs creating patch 1.10
@@w0pke They certainly did. I am not insisting that I was the first coming up with it. Interent wasn't that common a thing back then, surely many players who never showed up online did the build before. But as I proposed the build to the world, everyone was still like I said above. There was this notion that ONLY the high-level skills where any good, which is BS as we know today.

I did the same soul-crushing thing on Plugy SP while I was living abroad during COVID, but on a 200% FCR Sorc, so the LK runs were significantly faster. I was planning to build an infinity next but couldn't farm 2 more BERs so I just enjoyed the Enigma and made a pitzerker. Good times !
Man those WT's gamble is crazy ! Gg you are a machine. I recently made my first ssf enigma by cubing bers I found during farming.. 5 bers and not a single jah, my heart broke when I cubed 2 bers tho

Gz! I've done that grind years ago on vanilla D2 and it is as painful as described, maybe even worst 😆
But recently I've started D2R from scratch and I I've been insanely lucky, I just found both a Jah and a Ber off of Pindleskin on my first char, blizz sorc, in the span on just 2 days (maybe a total of 4-5 hrs) right after finishing Hell.
At least I'm happy I don't have to farm LK for now 🤣

I did 1619 LK runs on p7 and countless cows runs on p3 to find and cube runes to reach enigma runeword in SP plugy. Nice job man.

I can't believe I used to spam runs like this too... granted it was an online toon but good lord It's hard to think i'd spend months doing this. Loved doing it though! Nothing felt better than making my own farmed enigma spirit and hoto when I was 13 during summer break back in 2003/2004 - Also to answer your question if you are crazy. All of us Diablo 2 players are crazy to farm the way we do. But somehow we have fun doing it. Loved the vid :)

What a wonderful video! I love you way you used those low level runewords and a hammerdin, your recipe is almost identical to my old ladder start character. Dual spirits, lore and stealth. I actually prefer the dual spirits than a hoto and spirit, its 1 less skill but better FHR and mana etc.
I also think you did the grind wrong. 🙂 of course LK chests are great, but my ladder technique from the old days was to run river of flame with the hammerdin.
Its a lvl 85 area, so can drop hi runes no probs and is a very easy access area with big ooen spaces for the hammerdin. Basically i would just rack up max kills there and get godly loot, including hi runes, just from the monsters. Remeber they increased the chance of HR drops from monsters, to stop people farming countess and chests.
Anyway from your 30 hours of farming you would have got tons of exp, much better loot, and more hi runes if you just did river of flame runs and kill everything. And it is reasonably pleasant running that area with a hammerdin, much nicer than 1000 LK grinds 😎

I recently started a ssf char, due being tired of online play always and had the itch for some d2. Made a trap assa, found maras in hell a3, then ber rune in chaos. Talk about a great start!
Been doing a couple cows since my gear is still trash, and well hoping for RW. (edit, RW bases)
Considering doing the kurast farm, and its how i ended up on this video. I think you just convinced me of sticking to cows/chaos for abit because atleast that's fun :D

Makes me miss lootfilter from PoD (path of diablo, d2 og mod)
But ye for surs or maybe a ber which i would need for infi perhaps kurast is the way to go.
Altho since i'm used to online play, i almost feel like sp kurast runs feels like cheating, even tho it'll take 1000+ runs lol.
from my xp from similar projects from starting out in hell: nothing beats Kurast rack and chest runs, you can almost force good bases (including pala shields), decent charms, a broad variety of lower mid runes and crafting materials with little to no fighting; so no cows or countess required

5:41 - depending on loading time switching acts to repair your staff might be a good idea, for example in act V Larzuk is just next to waypoint. But that's just a small optimization that doesn't make sense, because you're probably spending much more time on other stuff, not sure why I brought that up :) I also did some LK runs with Pala, but it's nothign compared to what I've done with Sorc. If you do it with Sorc then you probably hate doing it with any other char even more. Respect!

@TagLizzard I’m not a HC player so don’t take my word too seriously, but probably something safe like a Paladin, or a wind or fire Druid. I like the necro as well with minions and curses, but at least if it were me the risk of a mistake would be high and his life pool is much smaller.
Though if going for 99 I would pick the class I enjoy the most
you have convinced me that without trading I don't like this game. I'm not doing nearly this much even if I am grinding for something. This is just too much. Like Diablo 2 needs to take those 2000 runs to find something and divide it in half at least. I like Diablo 2, but not enough for the amount of effort it takes to do this. Maybe like 10 - 15 years ago. Congrats on finding out how much work it takes, and confirming it takes way too much.
Light plate gamble to a 48% war travs seems rarer than finding a Ber at LK. haha good work!

I think you want to play vanilla D2R. But i recommend 1-2 Mods for you.
1. Pseudo Loot Filter
--> this is a perfect loot filter for you. You can disable every item you dont want, so these items will replaced with NoDrop.
2. Light Pillar Expanded
--> you get for some items you want a light pillar. This is perfect if there drops a high rune but you didnt see it.
There are many other mods for like a bigger stash or up to 8 stash tabs (1 charakter and 7 for your account). But i think the 2 mods above would be very nice for you. :)

Found spellsteel on nightmare. It gave me the ability to fast track difficult areas in Hellmode like the maggots lair and act 3. It kinda gets expensive, specially for ort runes, but it gives you the ability to farm chaos sanctuary must earlier than usual until you get your own Enigma.
