- Have you ever wondered how few Star Points you can beat this game with? So did I. Using glitches I tried to avoid as many Star Points as I could. Here is the result.
Huge props to the Paper Mario Speedrunning Community for discovering these tricks and completely breaking the game.
I would highly recommend looking up the names of the tricks I use. You'll find a lot of them have an interesting history.

People have already informed me there's a new version of "Teleporter Room Early" I wasn't aware of. If I'm correct, you can use this glitch to skip the Shadow Sirens in Chapter 2, the two X-naut battles in the Great Tree AND getting Bobbery. This potentially skips 39 Star Points.
It would also skip getting Flavio, sooo...

Not worth it if it means losing Flavio

This run was originally thought to be only possible through TAS, since it was considered inhuman to proceed without Vivian, and only a computer wouldn't feel guilty leaving her with her sisters.

Low% typically means whatever counts towards a completed save file; this just focuses solely on Level, and one wouldn't/shouldn't obtain any Pianta Parlor item/badge

Yeah but to fight you, one has to perform 73 half-presses of the A button, then look under the truck to find a key, get a Game Over 14 times against Jim the X-Naut, and tell 7 friends about the secret, but only on a Friday. Or is it a Thursday? I'm not entirely sure about that. Anyway it probably won't work on anyone else's console but I'm telling the truth, I've done it but I can't show you because I lost the game disc. The method in the video is infinitely easier.

Great Video! I love how "Mario" sequence breaking was so confused on who these people are and why he's here. Sooner or later, a legit level 1 run may be possible. Or not... the shadow palace might be too much to handle.

Initially, I expected the answer to be 0 because the Shadow Queen can be beaten at Level 1. Then I remembered several battles are mandatory.
Really liked the editing. Wish there was a list of music used, though. A lot of really good tracks, a few I wish I knew!

Here I was expecting a series, when it was all in one vid! I once did a similar challenge in regular Paper Mario, although that was a glitchless run. I never had the balls to try the same in TTYD, but seeing how this was possible, well...

This is why low% speeduns are fun. Doing silly things not to save time, but game progress, so you end up with absolutely stupid glitches and tricks that you need to do.

@fatguy703 you could have skipped the 3 blue dudes/getting bobbery by using jump storage in the west sides underside to get to the opposite side of the area to get to teleporter.
Also very happy you used the Wizpig theme from ddkr.
To use Super Jump anywhere, you need to be able to get there from a Save Block without jumping. So no, that's not possible.

Early speedrun routes were 6 hours. Since then, enough skips were found to slash the shortest possible time in 2/3s.

what's stoppping us from using Goombella Buffering to get around the Chapter 8 Bones Horde event (and subsequent 100 star points)?
If you have to get star points fighting the bones in the palace anyways, could leveling up to the level you end up at anyways before the fight result in you getting less star points, since the reward scales with level?
how exactly would getting to Level 3 before the quintuple Bones in the Palace yield lower when he'd still receive one-hundred Star Points right after-placing him at 300 (or 313 courtesy of the Phantom Ember)

I thought there was a way to autogenerate a Yoshi without having to go into chapter 3. Maybe it was from the Doopliss cutscenes? You'd probably be able to avoid the Chapter 3 star points that way.

Are there any situations where you face a boss close to a level up and you'd actually collect fewer star points total if you grinded to the level up and then fought the boss?
Where do you get all the coins for the fright masks? Especially during the glitz pit section? I dont understand
Fright Masks don't cost a whole lot; moreover, simple Sleepy Sheep selling strategy, cooking food to yield higher-priced items, selling field items, and selling badges can easily garner enough

Actually you don’t need bobery to get past that one wall, there’s and entrance on the other side that’s usable once you unlock paper mode. Real total star points is 363
There is technically a trick that allows you to skip grodus and bowser by using a superjump to get to gloomtail’s door with the floor lowered/after palace skip, but as far as I know it has only been done in a tas.
Pretty sure you actually can't skip Grodus/Bowser. I think the trick you're talking about just skips the first part of the Shadow Queen cutscene.

Does Loading zone storage no longer work in TTYD? Any battles triggered by picking up an item could be skipped using LZS if it still works
Loading Zone Storage is from 64, not TTYD.
I've always felt put off by speed runs that use save caches from other files (unless they include the save file creation in the run).
I know this isn't a speedrun. Just making a general statement about the Super Jump in general.

Fatguy doing Palace Skip was not something I knew I needed until now. (Or just any of these crazy glitches).
Any reason for playing on the English version? Or is there no real difference between the two now because of Kooper Super Jumps?
The Japanese run would fight the Goomba Trio but skip the two X-naut battles in the Great Tree and getting Bobbery because you can clip into the teleporter room with Flurrie, resulting in two less Star Points.
However, I wasn't aware that a new way to do "Teleporter Room Early" was discovered that works in all versions. Using that one, I'm pretty sure the English version would actually come out ahead because you can skip the Goomba Trio.

Bowser and kammy are actually susceptible to showstopper which would save about 52 star points if you get astronomically lucky
