Can’t wait to see which pieces and accessories you choose. There are so many good pieces. Thanks for the shout out in the video. I hope you can get the trees to fit. I agree with you that the battle is trying to display all the cool pieces versus spreading out the pieces to make a better looking and more realistic scene. I will enjoy seeing what you design with your display bases.
Very cool Carl! The Apple Barn is 1 of my must haves - I live across the road from an apple orchard !! just waiting to find 1 that is in my budget. I have the Dept 56 Apple Orchard & Jack's pumpkin studio (I don't have the accessory for that though). They are on the left of my big Pumpkin Farm display - along with the Corn Maze, Spooky Barn & Pumpkin patch. In the middle of my display up on a hill I have the Black Cat Diner. Then on the right side is the "amusement park" area - spooky cemetery, fun house, moster house. It's a one stop family fun fall/ Halloween farm 😊
@@HalloweenVillagesbyCarl I still have most of my Punta mini pumpkins you advised me to get. I took some of them that split open, crushed them and covered my landscape with them. Everyone says it looks realistic -Thanks Carl! 😉
Always know fall is coming when I see Carl putting out videos. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I’m sure this will look amazing when it’s finished. I’ve been organizing my scrap/craft space and now I know exactly where all SIX of my glue guns are. 🤣 Had to keep running out to get another 🤦♀️. Looking forward to seeing your display come together.
Totally agree that less is more! Last year I switched from a big display mindset to smaller vignette designs due to limited space. I will rotate which pieces get displayed each year, which boosts my creativity. I can focus on making just a few houses shine.
Hi Carl, Nice to see another DIY and what a great time it will be in terms of building and designing. You mentioned that you don't like crowded and busy dioramas... that's exactly my thought. It looks so unnatural and I am a person who likes precision and as realistic as possible. I'm going to build a bit of a Country style tour myself. So a bit of farm-like scenes with lots of pumpkins, corn fields and hay bales. I combine this with some rural houses that will then combine in a somewhat village-like manner with the farm theme. As for trees and plants, I am already a diorama builder and have learned a lot over time. I make trees with iron wire and wrap them with air-drying clay. I also use real pieces of twigs in them. I also make the pumpkins myself from clay, as well as the corn stalks and hay bales. I enjoy being busy in the hours when I have free time. I can't wait for the upcoming videos you'll make. And i like to learn bew things from others every tip and trick and ideas that other people come up with. Enjoy building and crafting. Greetings from the Netherlands, Peter.
Thanks Carl for the frank discussion. I am struggling this year because I’m so disappointed with the new D56 pieces. I guess I’m just going to dig into some of my older less used pieces and come up with something. I need spooky for Halloween. Been looking at your creepy circus and thinking I might be able to go that route. Always appreciate your motivation!
Hello Carl, I like how you did the Apple Barn base! I have a couple questions. How do you get the striations on the outside base to go horizontal? Do you have another video where you show filling it with the joint compound. I have watched many of your videos and either forgot or never heard you say you used joint compound. I love watching you create and the process to get there…. Also how did you carve the ramp? I have purchased all your tools but do not have a lot of experience with them yet. Love your new craft room! I thought you should have added a small center island in the room because you do so much on your kitchen island. I also love the sound of the jets when you are outside! Are you a pilot and did you fly jets in the service? Thank you for all you do!! You are teaching me so much!
Hi there. I cut them with the hot wire tools in a horizontal direction. Joint compound is simply used to fill in the larger cracks, I cut the ramp with my Proxxon-same as I did the driveway on the Grimsly tutorials. Glad you’re enjoying the channel!
Do you have any Lemax Halloween houses? If so, which ones? Want to start collection but Dept 56 ones are so pricey but worried about quality with Lemax
I don’t-I use to collect them years ago and the quality has really gone down hill. Cost comparison to Dept 56 is worth it to me as the Dept 56 houses are way better quality-they don’t even compare honestly.
Corn field!!! What a brilliant idea! I’m now on the hunt for miniature corn stalks 😊
Have fun!
It will look great! Can't wait to see the finished project! Keep up the great work!
Thank you!

I'm excited! I've been going back and forth for days wondering how to do my fall village. You are an inspiration!
Awesome! Thank you!!
Looking good so far Carl! I always love your villages and holiday displays.
Thanks so much
So looking forward to this! I finally got my proxxon and love it! I wish I had more space to create alot more! Please keep up the good work!
Thank you and congrats on the Proxxon-foam cutting will never be the same!!
Very cool Carl!

@user-ht2iv7rz5r awesome!!!!
I love the piece that is the ufo beaming up the cow. I would like to do that in a farm scene like this!
Very cool-you should do it!!

Awesome-agree with all of your comments! Do you have a TH-cam channel as well??
@HalloweenVillagesbyCarl I don't have a channel (yet) maybe for.the future.
The Apple Barn is lowkey one of the best buildings ever!
100%

You’re welcome! I love the creepy circus and really thought about putting it up again this year!
A resin stream into a pond on the last piece would look great. Maybe a bridge to cross the stream.
Yeah-I was thinking the same…we’ll see how it progresses!

Looks good. Trying to do my first display this year. Maybe you could do a corn or hay stack maze!
Thanks!
I love fall 🍁
You and me too!!!
Looking forward to all of your Halloween villages.
