    Thanx for the info Tommy and Kyle. It has helped a bunch. I am only at Pro2 level with around 1200 trophies and in my 2 games have beaten a guy with 1600+ trophies and a guy with1700+ trophies. Neither used your method, they just guessed. Meanwhile in the shootouts I put both of mine under 0.5 from the hole( I used too much back spin) . Lol. Thanx again

    For viewers curious like me that are initially confused on how you figure out how to face north, pan/orbit your view around the ball until the wind direction indicator is facing perfectly away from you, unless the wind already is, in which case you skip that alignment step up and then begin the ring compensation. Hope that helps. Also, initially, I had wondered if the chart was club specific, but it is not. It is only a list of all possible accuracy measurements, to which you find your clubs current accuracy and apply it, meaning you can screenshot the chart and apply it the same all throughout upgrading your clubs. Ps. I just opened a clan under titled ConservativeJoes if newcomers would like an open clan to come join . I'm the only one in it so there's no pressure. Probably not worth the time if you're in an active clan, but for anyone not in one, feel free.

    As someone put it, a driving range with variable wind speed would be fantastic. I’m 4 years into playing this game and still guesstimate my shots without even looking at the rings. It’s experience that makes me perform good shots, not a sheet of notes for each club, the conversions and a calculator.

    Thanks for putting this together! The issue for me is understanding the sequence of the take shot button and how that actually works. I understand the wind rings and their relationship to club accuracy, now I just need about a half hour to get everything just right...LOL

    • @topgoat4421
      @topgoat4421 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The take shot button is just used as a reference when you're pulling your shot back so you're not just guessing. Line your take shot button with the ring that you want to adjust to. So say you want to adjust for 3mph wind with the sniper. You'd face your wind north, then line up your take shot button with the 3rd ring for the 3mph adjustment and then pull your bullseye back to the take shot button. This makes a perfect 3mph wind adjustment every time.

    great work guys! I've been pestering Tommy to do this for a while :) wind 2.0 probably needs to factor in the difference between headwind and tailwind - the rings don't work exactly right when there's a headwind - and the stronger the wind the greater the error.... I haven't managed to work out exactly how this works - maybe this can be for the next tut :)

    • @GolfClashTommy
      @GolfClashTommy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you have man and there will be more features in 2.0 :). Its hard to crack the code, but I believe that if we all work toghether we will find it.

    • @GavinRain
      @GavinRain 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      totally agree. and your tuts for Tour 6 were right on - I raced through it. T7 is ALL about the wind - so this wind tut couldn't have come at a better time! Now we all need a tut to show us how the hell you hit perfect when you're overpowering like a maniac. Or do you have tiger blood?

      Depending on wind is where you leave ball guide line. For example tail wind leave just short of ring side wind leave ball guideline right to the hole and for head wind leave ball guide slightly past the hole.

  • @jcbenson01
    @jcbenson01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey guys, 1st: thank you for the help with understanding the logic of the game. But 2nd: I’m having trouble. On longer shots I seem to have little to no trouble compensating for wind. But with more “accurate” clubs on shorter range shots I am struggling. I especially notice this with winds upwards of 7 mph. Ie: my razor is rated at 100% acrcy. Which translates to 1.0 mph per ring. If I have 10 mph of wind and compensate 10 rings in the direction of the wind, I am nowhere even remotely close to the hole.

    Ok I have to give an update, I recently mentioned this shit didn't work but it 💯% works , i lost about 30 games in a row trying to figure it out and a ton of coins but it was worth it bc you can have confidence in where the ball is gonna go exactly , I recommend starting out learning on the first 3 tours bc you are gonna lose a little often until you get it down, I wrote it all down on a piece of paper so I could have it right there, each time you level your club and it moves your accuracy it's gonna change the rings but it works

      Golfclashnotebook.io Then click on clubs find your club, click on wind chart and input the club level and what power level your ball is, as well as where you are aiming (max, mid, min).
      This is one place, I'm sure there are others but it's pretty helpful.

    • @mikemewett9258
      @mikemewett9258 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steven what does Max, Mid and min refer to ?

    • @MrTevens
      @MrTevens 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikemewett9258 It's referring to the range you can use that club. Max would be when you have the aiming circles a far away from you as possible, either when it turns into the next club or just as it can go. Min is the opposite, when it's as close to you before turning into a different club or at your feet. Mid is if you put it in the middle of the usable range for that club.
      Mid is a bit of a guessing game but you can usually figure it out by moving your club aiming circles back and forth to see where you are.

    • @mikemewett9258
      @mikemewett9258 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steven I think I get it

    • @MrTevens
      @MrTevens 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikemewett9258 Yeah it's kind of weird at first. But basically the amount of time the ball is in the air will change how much the wind will move it's landing spot.

    Firstly, thank you for taking time to teach! When I use the formula 3-A/50 to calculate the wind/ring, I'm not getting the same results as listed in some of the wind tables that are published out there (Golf Clash Notebook, Golf Clash University Calculator). For example: Hornet 3 has an accuracy of 91, so it's rings per wind should be 0.85 (or wind per ring = 3-91/50=1.18). For a 4 mph wind, that is 3.4 rings of adjustment. However, Golf Clash Notebook and Golf Clash University Calculator report 3.1-3.2. That's not a huge discrepancy, but as the wind increases, so does the discrepancy. For winds of 8-10, the formula predicts about 0.5 rings MORE than the tables. I'm really curious to why this is; do you have any insight?

    Heya! Love the game! And the tips you and Tommy put up really help shorten the learning curve for beginners. That being said, the explanation of how to use the rings to judge for wind really worked well. But lately I have seen some anomalies that defy understanding. Have they changed something in the physics of the game? As you know, when playing in tournies, eagling every hole you can is imperative and unless I can properly adjust for wind the chances of doing this is highly unlikely. I have seen a 1 MPH wind move by ball from slightly right of the hole to 4-5 yards left.

  • @eckoseventwo
    @eckoseventwo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The wind sensitivity changes the closer you are to the hole though.
    With a short iron shot I find it’s pretty much cut in half and with a wedge approach or close rough/sand approach it gets cut again in half

    • @v10ramTony
      @v10ramTony 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is true but I don't believe it's due to the proximity to the hole. I think it's the phenomenon of wind being stronger as altitude increases. The shorter game clubs generally keep the ball lower to the ground.

    To me it seems on drivers u need to add a ring for extra windage. For example if your rings are 1 each and you have 3mph wind adjust to 4 rings. Due to the ball being in the air longer.

    This is great info and works well most of time. Only problem I've found is it doesn't work well with sand wedge or rough iron shots. (I know, try to not have to use these clubs, but can't be perfect every time). Especially when hitting shorter shots. The rings don't seem to shrink like they do with other clubs. Also wind seems to have even greater effect if using any type of curve on the shot. Is it just me, or anyone else find this to be true?

    • @GolfClashTommy
      @GolfClashTommy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome. Its hard to get the adjustment for the wedges. You really need to chech the ball guide line which decides on how you aim the shot.

    • @topgoat4421
      @topgoat4421 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the rough and sand wedges are different, I usually just eyeball those unless I'm full power. The reason for this is because the rough irons travel through the air at a lower height than the rest of your clubs while the sand wedges travel through the air much higher.
      As for the curl, I try to use this as little as possible unless necessary as I find it much more difficult to be precise with the curl, as it's just guesswork.

    Thanks so much for the guide. The one thing that's confusing me is having the fact that if you have 100 accuracy that's 1 per ring. If I'm facing a 10 mph wind that's like two full targets. If I have less accuracy it's say 2.5 mph per ring. So that's just 1 target. So less accuracy means the wind affects your shot less??

    • @aaronpuddy6043
      @aaronpuddy6043 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Don't worry think I figured out my own answer. The size of the target is a lot bigger on the course when the accuracy is low.

      I have the same question.. My driver is 3 per ring and my wood is 1.1. But if I have wind over 6mph for my wood, thats beyond my target so why does the target range get smaller the more accurate the club is.

  • @pooryorick831
    @pooryorick831 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe I am a dope. I was never great with math. I still struggle with wind. This tutorial appears helpful but goes through it so quickly I can't get it. How do you remember the accuracy of each club. And how does spin and wind resistance affect the equation. There are multiple variables. The one thing it does is give me an appreciation for the complexity of the entire thing. I wish I knew calculus and could do it in my head quickly
    Then I could solve for club accuracy, wind speed and direction, ball wind resistance, and ball spin in 15 seconds. That would give me another 15 to then line up the shot and hopefully hit in the "perfect" range. That is hard enough without using a phone I hold in my hand that could be at different angles to my eyes. But I have a new appreciation now of why I go into the water hazard with a "perfect" shot lined up, with spin and curl adjusted, while my opponent makes it across just fine. A perfect shot is the one that goes into the hole or on the green or fairway.

    • @GolfClashTommy
      @GolfClashTommy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, Paul, totally. There are so many variables to understand with the wind that it can seem confusing. I do always keep my notes for each club, so it is worth looking at golfclashnotebook.io/ where you can plug in the clubs and levels you have an explains this for all the ranges. You can also print it off or save it on your phone.
      But a lot of this does come from experience and taking some notes on how the hole behaves or if it is uphill and downhill. The biggest thing to remember if practice, practice and practice and don't worry about progressing quickly. Allowing yourself time to become a better player and being more prepared for the higher tours is absolutely crucial.

    Am I the only one that thinks this is backwards? I would think that a higher accuracy would mean the wind impacts it less. Thus, accuracy of 100 means each ring is worth 3mph and accuracy 0=1mph. The way it stands you have to move your target more times when you have a higher accuracy, and that just doesn’t make sense to me. Somebody please explain if I’m far off base.

    Love you videos. I have a question though on the wind "guide" Kyle uses. When your club has an accuracy of one, outside rings will be worth 5. But what do you or does Kyle do when the wind is 8mph for example? That's way out of the ring guide. Thanks!

    So there's something I could not quite understand. Please enlighten me. According to that chart, a club with high accuracy requires more shot adjustment since one ring is worth less wind. Let's say there's a 5mph wind. With a 100 accuracy club I'd have to move my shot by 5 rings, while with a 0 accuracy club I'd have to move it by roughly 1,5 rings. How is that possible? What am I missing here?

    • @topgoat4421
      @topgoat4421 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the lower the accuracy of the clubs, the larger the rings are. Therefore a larger ring=more wind.

    • @topgoat4421

      Tommy is right but at full power with special balls because you have added distance and your ball is in the air for longer you will have to make a slightly larger adjustment

    This guide is great. My only wonder is how do higher accuracy clubs require more movement of the club to adjust for wind? Example: 100 accuracy you say is 1 wind per ring vs 50 accuracy is 2 wind per ring. So for a 5 mph wind, the 100 accuracy you move to the outside of the white ring while the 50 accuracy you move half the distance. How does that make sense. I see the results, but I’d say the 50 accuracy seems better as you move it less.

  • @ladefisse
    @ladefisse 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great stuff.
    But I what I can't work out is. With better accuracy you need to move the circles more. Seems to me it should be the opposite way in theory.
    And what do you do with the sniper at winds above 5? Then you need to move longer than the last ring? Being a little blind?
    Or have I just misunderstood the whole thing?

    • @GolfClashTommy
      @GolfClashTommy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You lay up some valid points. We will come out with a 2.0 guide soon aswell when we will go more deep in with this with wind.

    • @topgoat4421
      @topgoat4421 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      With better accuracy on the clubs, the rings are smaller. That's why you have to move more than with worse accuracy. You're still moving the exact same distance for both clubs, it just looks like you're moving more because of the difference in ring size. As for the sniper and moving above 5 mph, I make multiple movements. So if I had a 7mph wind I'd move the 5mph first and then make another adjustment for 2mph. Hope this helps :)

    Awesome teaching! Love it. So helpful. One follow up. Does wind affect shorter range clubs as much? Is there a distance or club level at which the rings don't equate this accurately? Thanks again.

    • @topgoat4421
      @topgoat4421 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wind does not affect the shorter range clubs as much. The rings are still fairly accurate on short iron clubs and the accuracy chart still works because short iron clubs with the same accuracy as say a driver or a wood will have smaller rings in proportion to the change of distance.
