If you are using the Oculus Rift S or any Oculus Headset for VR, then go to settings / experimental features then scroll down and hit hand tracking. I somehow managed to make it show my hands in DCS so It might work for you.

Really appreciated that. You helped make my mind up more about whether to go for IR or VR also which was a plus. I suppose if you rebuild the cockpit for the aircraft you fly in sim then VR is good. Or just learn your controls and don't change them? I'm just getting into this so connsidering the cost it's good to have common sense and practical reviews. Cheers 🍻.
Thanks for your feedback matey really appreciate it 🙏 With regards to IR vs VR; You just don't the emersion with a 2d screen. Yes, it's easy to access all controls and better graphics but VR you get a far better situational awareness. I have different mapping for every aircraft... Takes time to learn but no biggy (common mappings like trigger and landing gear are usually the same) . This hotas is designed for the hornet and the local mappings make alot of sense. Everything is covered and I never have to use keyboard mappings. Other aircraft, especially lower fidelity ones ie the SU-25t requires alot less mapping than high fidelity aircraft such as the hornet.
My full build is in the description, I didn't spend huge amounts, its about getting the right components rather than the expensive ones. Remember, DCS is a RAM whore. To get any playability in VR you need minimum 32GB DDR4. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask 👍🏼

I can't decide between a Winwing throttle or a Virpil throttle. I already have a VKB stick, but want a new throttle to replace my TWCS throttle

I was hoping you would share any issues you had putting the base and joy stick together, I am at odds as it doesn't seem to want to thread easily. I have tried several times with out forcing it. as to not ruin the threads, it work's for a couple of threads and then stops.

Thanks! I use the logitech Pro flight rudder pedals. My setup doesn't have a x axis (twist rotation) but I'm pretty sure you can buy it as an add on.

Thank you sir! I mean you could use one of the vertical axis but pedals are the best method. You can also get the z axis grip add-on check the website.
Are there extensions for the ORION ? I see the Super L has one but not to be used for Orion ??

Great video. I want buy the Orion throttle to pair with my warthog stick. But the Orion and every other thing on their website is out of stock! I cannot find any stores in the USA that sell them or other high end quality items like Virpil even Amazon doesn’t sell them.

I still haven't been able to get the ab detents to work correctly. Just doesn't recognise the physical detent at all. In DCS that is.
Check sim app Pro with your presets
Hi where do you get the downloaded configurations from. Nothing appears in mine. Not even winwings default set-up
You'll find them in simapp Pro (make sure its the latest version) or the dcs website may have some as well in the freeware section

Is it possible to remove the detents?
Physically no, electronically yes. As in the physical dentets are part of the cam system whereas the software can just be set to how you like it detent or not.
Does this Orion F-18 stick have a Z-axis even? So that you can do rudder with it? I am really contemplating between the WinWing Orion and Virpil Constellation Alpha. Plan to use it with Tiny Combat Arena mainly.
No z axis on the stock unit but believe you can purchase one from the store... Better off with rudder pedals for not much more money!

How much did shipping come out to abs how long did it take to receive?
Shipping came to about £100 for the UK and around 2 weeks from China
can anyone tell me who has an orion, if there is an issue with binding srs, i want to bind srs comm 1 ans 2 to the mids button but have been told this also triggers the same button number on the joystik at the same time as srs/windows see's them as the same device/button

Once Winwing sells you the product, you never hear back from them. I complained about several issues and NEVER heard back. Stay clear...
Not the case with me I'm afraid... They replaced a faulty switch with no problem.

to sort out the shipping but no one from winning is replying to me...
I wouldn't touch that mate let winwing deal with all of it. Think it's was 5kg in total. They're probably overrun with orders, just give it some time. They replied to me when I had questions.
@@silverback-gjr2805 where I'm from shipping is hectic, so I have to use a 3rd party to deal with shipping sadly.
They have an address in China, I order to that address, then from there the 3rd party takes over delivering to me after clearing customs.
Its really hectic, so I need to Check and let them know the weight sadly. Cons of staying in an LEDC.

Yes if you buy the add on. Not stock purchase no. Recommend you get a set of rudder pedals instead far better

I haven't had a good experience with Winwing warranty at all. Basically they don't honour the warranty. It's not a warranty it's a negotiation. I have the Orion Throttle and it's not useable. The USB plug had come apart...this and other button problems. Recommend you stay away from Winwing.

I don't like suction cups. I'm not going to pay about € 600 for suction cups which I had in my old crappy Saitek x52
You do get a hotas along with the suction cups; you don't even have to install them 👍🏼

Use some velcro strips or buy a rubber mat they won't be expensive.
