I, 100%, agree with STELL TRIBE! the price I paid for the winwing Orion Hotas was ONLY $499.99 + shipping : $560.00 waayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cheaper than I paid for the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog.. The throttle on the Orion Hotas sensor is much much precise than the Thrustmaster Throttle. The ONLY reason I did not purchase VIRPIL Throttle because it looks like a TOY compared to the winwing throttle. Winwing Throttle is more 1 to 1 to a fighter jet throttle.

Regarding the comment about indiscrete nature of the packaging: my boxes came via FEDEX who left a note about where to pick them up (a conveniently nearby supermarket station) where I was required to prove my Identity before obtaining those boxes. This was a very well-done review, thanks so much for your efforts!

Being an owner myself of the Super Taurus Throttle/Libra Joystick/Combat panel/Take Off I am at complete amazement at what this Company have done for us as flight sim enthusiast. I have a few gripes with some buttons wasting button presses that could have been used better but still....WOW
Great setup tutorial and review! It helped me a ton! FWIW, I was able to easily pull the throttle cables out from the base and extra centimeter. This helped them not be so stretched and they coiled better in afterburner.
Best breakdown and review of the Orion I've seen so far. I want this rig, but I'm pretty concerned about those throttle wires. Way too expensive to have something like that break in a year. Thanks for the video. 👍

Glad to see that it holds up to all the recommendations I've seen online. Definitely gonna pick this up when I finish upgrading my cockpit
Great review... lighting was good, you showed some great camera angles also. One big thing you showed is the USB-C connects to the devices but USB-A to the computer. I was nervous for a second, thinking I need more USB-C ports (which I don't have and my VR uses the one I have.) Thanks a lot. Thumbs up.
i received mine about a month ago and I am loving it, MUCH MUCH 10 TIMES TO 100 TIMES BETTER THAN the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog ... @33:10, your wires should coil OUT not in. I was able to twisted the cable slightly ( just a little ) then attached to the Handles... my wires don't coils in, they coils outward.

Apparently it is important to go to settings in SIMAPPPRO and select the folder locations for the games ... then do the download .. stil figuring that one out.

One question: I see you posted this vide on June last year so, how was it for the last 6 months with the Orion? Ay further concern on the throttle cables? Agree with Herbert I have had mine for about a month and it's the best I have had to date, better than Virpil (especially in VR as the switches are spread and different so easier to memorize) and Virpil was a great improvement over the TM Warthog. Combat Ready Panel is also great so ordered the Take Off Panel at last restock. The price is also great for what you get.

I just got mine today. This thing is very nice! Interesting your cables wont let the throttle go all the way back as mine will but the cables are tight. I also was able to arrange the right cable so it did not interfere. How has yours held up?
The Reason I asked is that I would like to know how they process there transaction. Also do you know if they accept AMEX. Because at the present time I am unable to place and order for the Orion HOTAS F-18 systems as it is out of stock until the 20th August 2020.
The Winwing orion is marketed as a HWarthog killer, but honesty, it is a disapointment for the price (tax + shpping custom...). After loosing my temper of the grip fixation, I really find the build quality lower than Hotas warthog. now, what matters is precision and durability so let's see how it behave. I found Virpil base better though
Definitely worth it. I enjoy using this throttle a lot. Its held up well for 6 months of solid use and it has a lot of button options. Delivery was excellent, fees were as expected, but I don't remember being charged an import fee. I'll do a follow up video.
hey i have my winwing orion and my throttle works but when i go in to sim app pro and try to update my firmware for the winwing orion joystick base it will not work what should i do?
I'm not Win Wing support so I don't have answers for you. I can tell you that every time I check for new drivers, it says its outdated but shows the drivers as the same as the current version. I'm guessing that they have some refining to do with Sim App Pro drivers.
@@bdog7262 I think I understand your question now. There are other switches that can substitute for the Coolie switch. The Orion does not have the coolie switch. The Orion is a replica of the F18C not the A10. If you want an A10 replica, then the Orion might not be for you. The Orion is very capable of substituting another switches for the Coolie if you're ok with it being in a different place. The Orion has a lot of switches which makes it pretty versatile. But again, this is an F18 replica, not an A10 replica.

My Gripe is the fact that they do not state anywhere on their website that the Orion 2 Joystick HOTAS has absolutely no Z-Axis, Let alone no instructions at all. Pissed me off enough to return them and request a full refund.

spacer plate may just be for shipping so they can have the screws in and be tight to ship
could be, but it doesn't make sense as they had screws in bags too?

those cables on the throttle, i can't imagine they last for a long time even if they don't get 'pinched'.

They have since set up a US warehouse, so that makes a big difference in shipping.

Same move : i sold my T16000M + TWCS for an Orion. One screw was missing and without you help I couldn't build the throttle.
I'm surprised you had a screw missing. Mine came with a lot of extra screws. Glad I could help.

Make sure you have the device plugged directly to the Motherboard USB on back of PC... at least for Updates ! Not thru USB hub.
do you need rudder peddels with this set up or does the stick twist for rudder action
You can get a stick twist, I however went with rudder pedals. You will need one or the other.

You have to buy an additional Z-axis module that you install between the joystick handle and joystick base.
probably more like your last update depending the hotas
