    They are probably one of the most humble bands, that do not have ego complexes. They’re studio guys, which means they don’t like the limelight, and focus on their craft instead. Curt Smith is just a regular guy that you would hang out with. Seeing him in Psych was awesome. You know how amazing their talent is and how influential they’ve been, when a good majority of their hit songs have been redone by MAJOR label artists. They are both truly talented, and have deserved all of the success they have received over the years.

      Please watch "Scenes from the big chair" and rethink your "studio" comment. They were awesome live then. Manny and Ian were a HUGE part of the band's sound and not continuing with them hurt them quite a bit.

      Actually in the 90s they both had their own egos and split up due to them wanting to show eachother up by going solo

    • @davedempsey5282
      @davedempsey5282 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gardetto265 no, they split over musical differences. Roland kept going as TFF with his long time collaborators, which was part of the musical differences they had. He only had one solo album, Tomcats Screaming Outside, in 2000. Elemental was a popular album, Raul And The Kings Of Spain less so.

      Both of them are great singers, with very different voices, and that works really well. Some tracks are more suited to Curt's softer vocal style, Mad World being a great example, whereas other tracks are suited to Roland's more strident vocals, The Working Hour being my personal favourite.

    I'm a pro sound man and been a musician myself for about 15 years. Today I realized that, in this crazy world that we all live in, I haven't taken the time to listen to an entire album or live recording top to bottom in months, if not years... I remembered the old days where I used to listen to all 13 albums of The Beatles (plus Past Masters) on repeat about 10 times each minimum... no kidding... I would let each of them on the plate for 3 months and listen to the whole thing after class every day. Instead of increasing the volume, I would listen so quietly you could hear it spinning - I'm talking CDs, mind you! That's how I got ears able to hear up to 14kHz after years of live drumming. Today I found this... I closed the light... couldn't stream the image properly so I blacked out the screen... sat in my chair, got my best pair of headphones, bring the volumes down to 1-2 notches (youtube volume at about 1 third of the way) and this was enough, because great mix sounds huge without a lot of gain in your sound system or headphones at all.
    I forgot what it was not to had a single thought running consciously thought your head, not to look up the comments, not to say something or play or tap along the music of watch the camera work (which is quite nice)... just the sound, just the music... and they are performing for you right there in your room... the best mix I heard in years... transcend the soul... amazing!

However, also a non-smoker non-drinker, my voice has got better since the early 80s, better technique, better control, better tone. I am so glad I came across this. I really needed to hear them and these songs to remind me who I used to be. Ive been going through so many crazy changes and they calm my mind and elevate my soul. They still got it. I'm going to listen to this again and again. I am so amazed.

      They are using tracks though. There's a reason it sounds so good, this has been pre-produced, like all pro's do nowadays. Combined with incredible musicians and an amazing sound engineer, great gear and a fantastic room.

    I was once of the fans onsite during this day. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, it was all live (well mostly, a few songs had synth bass and some drum loops) the guys sounded this good (the mix is better than it was there) and I will be grateful for the experience for the rest of my life... a bucket list moment for sure.

    I think the key with them is that they did not waste thier voices and abilities to play on drug addiction etc.which is pretty rare and I am grateful to be able to hear this great band still sound as good as they did 30plus yrs.ago.

      Are you 100 percent sure of the opinion you state as fact? I am a bit skeptic of the sound being presented as recorded livevas same as the video...simultaneous? Darylrs house is one of the best if not the best recording places . what Im saying is that the clarity of sound is way to clean to be recorded as you observe a so called or pertrayed live performance.

    It's amazing how true to the original studio recordings they still are... something that so few artists can still do so many years later.
