The one jackass I didn't watch
Matt’s 👏 clap 👏 talking 👏 got 👏 me 👏 dead 👏
“For Weezer?” 😂😂😂 Cecily Strong kills me.
When he said "pork n beans was better than Buddy Holly" I let out an audible wooahhh-ish sound lol .... I had never put that much thought into what type of Weezer fan I was but I guess now I know....
Same! The noise I made… I didn’t even realize I was capable of that
Well to be fair pork & beans is better than buddy holly. 😎

“....you’re not gonna like what I’m about to say”
“Then please don’t say it.”
That’s a response that’s not used regularly enough when it absolutely should be. Thank you for educating the masses!
"Baby calm down I WILL testify this time" is the best line in this hysterical sketch and it went totally unnoticed.
I am screaming that one of the only sketches that Leslie got through without fluffing her lines was screaming about Weezer. An icon and legend
Matt: “No offense, but burn in hell.” “No offense Tammy, but drink my blood.”
😂😂 best one-liners ever 👌🏽
Definitely going to use these!
So true, I completely lost it at both those lines 😂
_Thats a Todd original_
I saw your comment just as he said that 😂
😂😂😂😂😂🤣
"Oh you're trying to die" in that moment I fully believed Leslie was willing to kill Matt Damon live on the air
Besides the great performances by Leslie Jones and Matt Damon, this is a good example of how Kenan Thompson and Cecily Strong bring something to every sketch they’re in even when they’re not the main focus.
Cecily Strong is amazing at every little job she is given.
*YES!*
“I will testify this time” was the hardest keenan has ever made me laugh
Lmao I didn't catch that the first time I saw this sketch 😂 such a good line
Whoever wrote this sketch is my hero.
It was rookie writer, Alan Linic!
I know it's not, but it feels like something Mulaney and Jost wrote years ago and the only reason it made it to air is because Jost is head writer now and Damon is a Weezer fan.
Steven Castillo, Eli Mandel, And Alan Linic
“I WILL testify this time” is so massively underrated as a line oh my god
My thoughts exactly. Like, Matt & Leslie were incredible, but Keenan is fucking awesome in this and nobody seems to notice lol.
Keenan has been an amazing support character in so many sketches. But, the entire disc.. argument escalates so rapidly that even a great line, and performer, that adds to comedy got a little lost in the mix. Thankfully, folks in the comments section are finding it
@debunker300 wikipedia says he's been on sice 2003, so, 16 seasons?
yes!!
I love that they went all the way, balls deep, into this absurd universe that I could not follow for one second. That's brave sketch comedy, and I bet like 12 people appreciated it a lot.
I think way more than 12 people appreciated it. Maybe 12 people got all the references but the attitudes were VERY recognizable.
I am one of those 12 people...thats me 😅😅😅😅😅
@@gpmac-rq4ltOk but... do you get all the song references?
@@badgerbadgerton966there's only a handful of actual song references it's mostly just about sub pop sounding weezer vs pop rock sounding weezer (which neatly divided their discography)
"Is this a thing people care about?"
"No . . . no it isn't."
3:30 “I *will* testify this time” - Hahaha, DEAD!!! Why aren’t more ppl talking about that line?! 🤣
Caught the actual meaning the second time watching the sketch, now I laugh my ass off at it.
I scrolled down in the comments wondering the same thing!
odallard Yes!!! She obviously does this often in other groups!! 😂😂
Favorite line! 😂
I laughed pretty hard when he said that. The audience didn't even respond to the line, despite how hilarious it is!
"Baby, please, it's Christmas". Lol. That's a bad sign
At least she has someone to say "Baby Please".
That might be the joke, believe it or not.

I was born in 1988. You could never convince me that 30 years later that Donald Trump would be President and the best SNL sketch of 2018 was all about Weezer.
We have fallen into a bizarro alternate universe.
Gene Ryan but he his
I mean, technically speaking you wouldn't even know what Weezer is because they didn't exist yet.
To be fair, if someone told you back in 2014 that Donald Trump was about to be president and the best SNL sketch of 2018 would be all about Weezer you’d never have believed it
@@joedshotandsexyjamz1713 Well, and he would have been an infant with very limited understanding of language.

Even more so for catching myself taking sides in the argument

I love this because it's like what an internet argument would look like in real life 😂
This comment is better than the skit itself
That’s spot on lol
This is pretty much ripped from the Weezer Fanclub. Can confirm
Perfectly stated!!!!
This was Leslie Jones’ best moment on SNL. Absolute perfection.
It's pretty good but I think her and Peter dinklage on nakrd afraid is her best sketch
funnily enough matt damon looks like he could fit into weezer

@@mrchiken1341 I think the implication is that they took their fired-up opinions on Weezer as a band as a sign they cared more than most folks, rather than having charged opinions being a fandom norm.

Nope, so wrong, because they'll only play new stuff and it is going to suck.
@@EdwardThimbleHands preach. Weezer only made two good albums. And it's been a long time since the second.
@@SchonseEWBAITE, White...but I guess people ignore those now for narrative purposes.
@@EdwardThimbleHands I've seen them twice this year, and I'm not even a huge Weezer fan. Truth be told, they put on some of the best performances (I've seen) live and don't play an overbearing amount of new stuff; they know what people want to hear more. Like I said, not even a huge fan, but their concerts have gone into my top favorites for how much they really put into it.
@@Hotelsocks right, and I can understand a live concert because while promoting a new release they want to play on nostalgia to get people to buy it. On the other hand, on a show where you play maybe two or three songs, you'll want to play new stuff so people know how that new music is going to sound. Either way, I'm sure the performance wouldn't suck, but I don't think I'd enjoy the music itself.
