Pink flamingos, upside down pineapples (NOT the cake, thank God!), and sponges, good grief. I didn't need to know that, LOL. (I Googled.) In a (probably) related matter, there was a guy camped close to me at Hi Jolly in 2020 with a big 5th wheel toy hauler. He was by himself (always) but he told me his rig has three queen size beds in it. I asked him why he needed all of those beds and he just looked at me. In retrospect, I'm REALLY glad I never took him up on his offer of coming over for coffee or whatever... Thank you, Mike, for helping @WanderingJeepsy Sarah and LIl' One get back to Vegas safely with two Jeeps! You are a good friend! Great to see you back in the saddle again, so to speak! Those redwoods so close to the ocean are pretty amazing, even if I did already watch the full video. Glad you are doing well and back up and running. ❣Take care!
It’s great to see you back on the road. I love your channel. I grew up in Moss Landing. My dad was a commercial fisherman so I’m reminiscing ❤ Best of travels to you and your friend Mike 🙏💕
Great time in Northern California…thanks for giving me the opportunity to check it out since I’ve never been there…always a pleasure to help a good friend out
Thank you for a great video of the Pacific Ocean. I miss my ocean. I grew up hanging at the pacific ocean. Newport Beach at 17 st. Was my fav. Then later on Laguna. I swam so much in the ocean, I feel like I'm part fish.😁 Glad to see you back on the road. Super nice jeep!! A lovely gift. Sorry about the loss of your friend. Good of you to help him on his journey. That's a special thing to do.😊 I took a sick friend from CA to her moms farm in Kansas. I stayed for 3 years but had to return to help family. She passed shortly after but, I'm happy I stayed as long as I could. We do what we can for friends and family. Life is sometimes pretty rough. I'm struggling right now but I know it will get better eventually.❤
The birds can smell the death boat as GHOSTS people who stayed on the old war boat. Liked the creepy boat. Thank you for show the war boat long times ago.
I knew a guy who built a huge ocean going sailboat out of concrete . Took him about 15 years off and on . When it was done , he had it transported to Lake Michigan and sailed off into the sunset . Everyone around him thought that it was nuts to build a boat out of cement . Thanks for the great video .
The Pali Alto was a great fishing pier in the 1960/1970 era. At that time, the only bow section was fenced off, due to structural decay. The deck had a fish cleaning station, and a bait shack. Busy always with fishermen, and crab pots. Sometimes large salmon were caought. Many perch and flounders. The inside below water line was a nursery for young fish and crabs. The Seacliff State beach campsites were legendary. Until the 2023 storm which destroyed more the ship, and pier. The remaining pier was demolished shortly after in 2023. Disappointing, but we respect nature's ways.
lived in Aptos during early 80's and remember just the bow being off limits. Great times @ that beach and those campsites fetch a pretty penny in the Summer.
Just learned about the pineapples but didn't know about the sponges. Good thing i have a big enough shower tent to hang my stuff to dry inside. Thanks again mike fir helping Sarah get both jeeps back to Vegas. Safe travels for you and little one 😊
I'm glad seeing you Sarah , glad you got Mike to help you get one of your jeeps back to Vegas . Give little one a hug for me and you too lol . Be safe love ya ❤
I went out on that Boardwalk Years ago. Back in the 1930s they actually had a ballroom on board that ship for a lot of the big bands of the era played.
You can ride the standard Gauge train between the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk by the shore up to Felton through the Redwoods. From Roaring Camp at Felton by Highway 9 you can ride the Narrow Gauge train up the hill into the forest.
Hey Sarah 👋 really nice video! Loving the ocean 🌊 and then immersed in the big beautiful Forest!! Thats the best of both worlds in one video! 👍 Good one...😁 Love the info on the ship by the beach. So good to see you smile 😁 and getting back to yourself again! Safe travels back to Vegas, and a big shout out to your friend for the assistance! 👊 Love ya girl...❤️ Be safe and well. ✌️
I've never heard of that ship, when you posted about a cement ship I was thinking of somewhere in SoCal that is totally submerged. It was uncovered by a storm a few years ago. As I remember, after it's war service, it was bought by the mafia and turned into an illegal floating casino and then purposely sunk to avoid prosecution. Nobody even knew there was a buried ship under that beach until being uncover by a storm. I actually thought the SS Palo Alto was more interesting because of all the use it had as a pleasure pier.
That was an awesome video, such interesting history of the ship...then only 7 miles into the forest. I can't believe the height of those redwood trees. What a great area to live in! Did you see any upside down pineapples in the campground?
Gees Bath sponges too now??? First Pineapples now pink Flamingos, and bath sponges, Pretty soon we will have to stop using campers anymore or convert to their way of life. lol
Tom Linskey (Titanic Honor & Glory channel) did a video a couple of years ago showcasing a cement ship off of New Jersey. I forgot it's name. I didn't know any existed off California. So thanks for this adventure.
Hurry up and get back to Arizona 🤪 Not too soon it got real hot again here in Prescott..You may want to wait lol.. But I did just send you a hundred on PP I listed it as Wandering Exploration Funds 😂 Anyway thanks for your great videos keep them coming 👍🏻🤟🏻
I remember seeing that Huell Howser Video. They still had the boardwalk up, if I rememeber right. Someone mentioned it already, and I agree, it's good to see you smiling more. Heading South soon.(yesterday, tomorrow?) Will be real close to Vegas for a little bit. Do you like Bowling ? I have my Dad's Ball(16 lb Hammer), that needs the holes re-drilled. And I'd like to get some Bowling Shoes. Or maybe just a Hike somewhere if you like. Oh, and thanks for the Camping Heads Up. I didn't know. Lil one, listen to Mommy.
boats float by the principles of displacement. the weight of the concrete hull that displaces the water is less than the weight of the volume of water it displaces hence it floats.
If someone donated a window-mounted swamp cooler that you put ice and water in would you test it for us it only works in Arizona and the desert area in California it is a 1950s design it hangs in the window and looks like a torpedo and you put ice and water in it have you ever seen one?

Cool video!
I spend a lot of my childhood on the cement boat and the pier, strolling, fishing. Precious memories. I’m now in my 70’s.

Cool video! I like the shot of the downed tree over the roadway. I would like to bicycle tour through that area sometime.

Great video Sarah as and thanks for sharing it with us. Safe travels my friend 😉
Watching this makes me want to go to the shore, spoken from a Jersey girl who spent lots of time at the shore (beach)
I can relate, being a Jersey girl as well. The shore is a part of us.
Hi, I just dropped in to say hello. I love your content. Keep up the good work.
I've always wanted to see the redwoods! Pink flamingos mean "family" woot woot, they my people!!
I've never heard of that ship, when you posted about a cement ship I was thinking of somewhere in SoCal that is totally submerged. It was uncovered by a storm a few years ago. Nice vid! Stay safe
LMAO Lil One definitely has selective hearing. Want a treat!?😂
Oh wow. I didn't know that about pink flamingos. Just had to google it. I knew about the pineapples though. 😂
Same!
It is nice the birds got a home on the ocean.

Glad to see you out and about again. Sending my best wishes from Indiana.
I too am clueless as to how a cement ship doesn't sink into the ocean. I mean.....???!! 😮😮😮
❤Sarah ❤

@@wanderingjeepsy Thank you also, for providing great content, and if you want you can use some of that to buy Lil One a treat 😂
🍍I swear l saw an upside down pineapple ornament in that 5th wheel window.😉
Google told me about both symbols at the same time... I didn't need to know that, but I guess forearmed is forewarned.
@@PulpParadise Ah, those snowbirds with all over year round tans. 😉

Santa Cruz CA think you can get a post card of this ship
Hi,👍💪🏻🙏❤️🇫🇷
huel howser has a videio on it.
👍🐾

Cement ships were used as barriers to make reefs along the Eastern Shore
Think pink flamingos mean the couple inside are swingers?
OMG! 😮 You learn something new every day. 🤣
Cool video and story 🤙
Oh wow besae girl😊
they still use concrete for ice brakers
