The size , I think, is thought for the watch being easily read under water, sometimes with very bad light conditions.
6’6" man here. A 44mm case is a feature, not a problem!
being a 6'6 man already solved tons of problems in life for you bro
I have the same height as you. love watches from 42 mm
6’5, and agreed
I'm 6'3 and don't like watches under 40mm!
NOBODY CARES
It's perfect for me, but it would be an excellent idea to have 2 versions, like Seiko did with the late SKX model. So, a 38/39 mm duro would be a sweet little brother. It would be a hit
It still fits well, under 49mm lug to lug. The 44mm is part of the overall charm of this watch. It's such a charmer to wear. I have a hard time not smiling when I'm wearing it. It has no business being as good as it is.
I agree, fantastic watch. It's not so much the discomfort of wearing, just the sheer visual size when on the wrist.
I normally like a 38mm to 40mm max size for a watch, that said, I LOVE my Duro. It doesn’t feel as big as the number suggests and it still looks great. I put mine on a NATO and it is so comfortable, I absolutely love it.
I can’t be how much I love this $50 watch.
Fits me well. First thing I did was to change the strap to a Bond type NATO strap that I had cut the extra loop off. I bought it from Amazon, a year ago, for $40.
Accurate to -1 second a month.
I bought one for my dad who's worn a Rolex datejust for 30+ years and he loves the Duro. I have one too, and although it doesn't get much wrist-time, it still holds a place in my collection.
So true. I'm loving smaller dials now than larger
I’m 5’10” with 7.5” wrists and it looks fine on me. I prefer a 40mm, but the right 44mm watch looks fine.
i have a 6.5 inch wrist and the duro fits me. it definately is an aquired taste but it works.
Have the Starbucks Duro and love it for my 7.5 wrist. Wish they’d make a quartz gmt watch like the gmt Pepsi.
It’s a perfect size 🎉
A 40mm or 38mm Casio Duro will be an instant hit as long as it maintains the same price range.
Unfortunately, I fear that it will be gobbled up by hoarders and flippers that it will be near impossible to get one at retail.
Remember the Tiffany Blue Casio? You can't one of those at retail anymore.
Casio has just announced a 38.5mm version of the Duro. It has the same case shape, dial and hands, but the WR is low - 50m I think.
@@mr22guy I was about to buy it but I realised the 15mm bracelet is a NO GO.
Damn, this didn't age well.
I have a black/gold Duro as my daily beater. The seize and weight is okay although I have a small wrist. The lug-to-lug is small. The hands are not small and really suit the dial. My only problem is the bad legibility of the date.
I have an average size wrist I have no problem with the duros size. I feels smaller than 44mm.
for me with a 6.5 inch wrist, the duro is fine because of the short lug to lug. if you are in the fence with the same wrist size, i say go for it
It's also preference, although the lug to lug means it doesn't overhang the wrist edges, it's still not comfortable. I also have a 6.5 inch wrist and didn't enjoy the wearing experience at all. A 38mm watch is infinitely more enjoyable to wear.
@@TopTierTicker for me i like around 40-42mm
It looks good on my 7.5 wrist with Popeye forearms 💪
I've resigned myself to wearing some watches that are a bit bigger than I'd ideally like. 😕
I’ve made that mistake recently bought two watches that I really liked but now on the wrist I realize they’re a little to big for me. I’ve come to find that NATO straps help regulate the issue.😂
It is sort of head scratching that there isn't a 40mm version. I guess when you're at that price point, you'll overlook the obvious flaws.
I love how large this watch is!
19.5 mm wrist here. Even tough 44 is a big watch, the lug to lug isn't so it's wearable for more... lets call "unfortunate" wrists, the diver besel also makes it look smaller.
Make a 42mm duro!
44-45 mm is a sweet spot for me. I have an 8.5 inch wrist. There are so many watches that look cool that only come in 40 or 38 and I just can't wear them. They look like women's or kids watches on my wrist. So please stop influencing companies to make these watches smaller. We still need watches this size for guys that don't have dainty wrists
The only problem I've ever had with the Duro is how dim the lume is
Casio should upgrade lume at level of Seiko...
I have the 42mm Casio SOLAR MTP-S110-2AV
6 foot man here, with an 8" wrist. 44mm is good
Try the MTD-1053. It’s 200m wr and has a 40mm case.
They did release a smaller “Duro” however is not what we expected, it is a let down. If your curious it’s model name is MDV-10.
Edit: I put the wrong model name.
Already seen it, a big let down indeed. The lug width makes it even worse! Why didn't they just make a 40mm!!
I say that the fact that it's huge isn't the directly problem, but a lack of a Casio diver in the same style but with smaller diameter and shorter lug-to-lug. Not giving options is a huge mistake that some brands are seemingly fixing this year (e.g. Citizen' new 37mm diver).
* direct
It fits my 6.5 inch worst rather well. It looks big, sure, but not goofy. Casio managed to pull a Seiko with a diver that wears smaller than its dimensions imply.
6’4” guy, I have no problem with this watch. In fact I love the simplicity. Just do yourself an honour and change the strap immediately!
I too am 6ft4, but unfortunately only a 6.5inch wrist.
Got mine today with the pepsi bezel, love it. I don't feel the 44mm is too big for me personally
I find it wears a bit more proportionately on an oyster style bracelet. Dresses it up nicely, as well.
I have a small wrist and my duro fits correctly.
Fantastic watch, it’s massive but it’s ok if your only going diving/swimming occasionally
Feels and looks just fine to me on my average size wrist. But found them on clearance at Walmart and bought all of the three they had left.
Looks great on my small wrist. Got one with black bezel, and then one with Pepsi bezel. Enjoy wearing them as much as my Breitling, Tag Heuer, or Oris watches. Only criticisms would be I’d rather have no date complication, and have a sapphire crystal. But for the just over £50 I paid for ‘em, what’s not to love? 😃
Do you mean day complication? Because it has a day marker, a little small not gona lie bu it's there.
@@ThatGuyUpThere no, it’s definitely a date complication i.e. the number of the day of the month… if it was a day complication then it would say Monday, Tuesday… etc.
You can easily get a sapphire crystal for this under $20. The best thing about this watch is that it's still under $100 with a cheap strap/bracelet and a sapphire crystal glass swap.
Hahaha
I'm 6.2 and 44 is the right size for me
In fact I'm currently using a 51mm g shock
I have a 6 and a half Wrist and it looks perfect on me I wear it as a casual and office piece not a formal dress watch.
I currently use a Galaxy Watch 3, and looking at getting a Duro. Looks very similar in size.
Be happy, in India they retail at $95 and I just bought it(Batman dial) for $84 after doing a huge bargaining.
I like mine but I like my Invicta pro diver a little better!
Get to the gym Alice and build some arms. My Batman Duro fits perfectly on my 7.75" wrist. :-)
Imagine complaining about a dive watch being too big, when it's actually meant to be worn on the outside, over diving gear. 🤦♀️
I understand that dive watches are nowadays worn as trendy dress/everyday watches, but there are still ppl who will use them for its intended purpose.
Having a decently sized dial that is very legible, with an easy to operate bezel is important, otherwise it's pretty much useless for diving.
That would be a good argument, if the watch had the lume to back it up. It's no diver's watch.
I recently watched a few videos on the Duro, loved it and ordered one from thier online page. Sadly the product I received was a 38mm (or maybe 36mm, not sure). It felt extremely small for my liking, felt like a ladies watch and had to return it. So yeah, Casio does have a duro with a smaller dial as far as I understand. But it only has a 50m dive range. FYI
That's actually so true. It's quite big. I returned mine but want one again as Casio are gonna discontinue the marlin version?
So glad that I can actually wear it. Got the og version in gold. Love it. Such a nice beater 😁
If it was 40mm & thin, it'd sell like hotcakes!!!
8 inch wrist, fits perfect mate
I have many watches including a casio duro but my favorite cheap dive watch ive got would be the invicta pro diver. Built amazing and looks fantastic its the watch i get the most compliments wearing forsure.
Great size for an actual dive watch
It wears way smaller due to the bezel. Good size for me, but obviously no size fits all.
Take away the bezel dimensions, it is not that bad, closer to 40 mm diameter. If the lug to lug is an issue, go work out your forearm/wrist, until the watch wears flat.
My Duro is the perfect fit for me. I have a 7.5" wrist and it looks better than some of my other dive watches.
44mm is perfect for me. My wrists are only 7.3 inches, but I am almost 6'4" and don't like watches less than 42,,. 44 is about perfect for me, but little guys might not like it.
Hmm 🤔 I have never thought even once that the Duro is too large - wears really nice on most wrist sizes. I love G-Shocks for example, but those are harder to wear if a person has small wrists/small frame (even then it’s personal taste). The Duro though I think looks great on all wrists. It’s not like those massive ‘Fossil’ watches that look like wall clocks on a wrist 😂
When the only complaint about this watch is the size ,that’s how you know it’s good
Seiko vs casio. Which one is best?
A Vostok Amphibia (420XXX) is only 39mm and around $70.
A round of pity! My 8,5 inch wrist loves this watch!!
they just released a 38 mm, model MDV-10D-1A1V. but it has only 50 m WR :/
The 44mm is not a problem at all for me since I have the suitable wrist
Agreed
If you use a dive watch for diving underwater 44mm is a good size very legible!!!
It's for men's hands I guess because it looks great on my 7. 5 inch wrist.
So many people have called for a smaller Duro, I'm surprised Casio hasn't responded.
Agree the hands look out of proportion to the bezel!
This watch is near perfect in my opinion strep however in my line of work lasts only 1 year. The way it overlaps the lugs makes it very hard to replicate with an aftermarket strap
aftermarket bansdaftermarket aftermarket
Holy crap I'm out here lookin for big watches and everyone's complaining they don't have a dainty piece on their wrists
Why are you looking at big watches, out of curiosity? Wearing something more subtle is a sign of self confidence...
@TopTierTicker brother went straight for a compensation jab. I like lookin at a big fuggin watch! Shits neat 👌
plus it comes with a mineral crystal that is easily scratched...
Luckily not a problem for my 7inch wrist!
I am 6'4 and have been lifting weights for almost 15 years now. My wrist is too big for anything under 40mm. 44mm watches are great. Isn't there enough for small guys already? LOL It's hard for me to buy shoes most of the time cause most shoes are in size 10 or 11.
Dumbo, u can train for 30 years. Wrists dont grow with weight lifting. This information should decrease your stupidity a bit
It wears so much smaller than you would expect.
I like 44mm it will look like a 36mm on my gorilla arms
If tells time you’ve got a good watch. If it’s water resistance is good enough for swimming well then you’ve got a God Tier watch. I got a $20 watch that does this way better than my $700 watch. I learned my lesson a long time ago.
Wtf are you talking about? It fits perfectly on my wrist , homie I guess you have a stickman wrist
I dunno, I have a stickman wrist (5.6") and I think it's perfectly fine.
Thanks for the info! I had a little bit of a crush on it. Too big for me…
Monstrous?! Lol, 44 sits perfect even on 6.5/7 inch wrist
44 is nothing compared to invicta’s 52mm. I could wear a 44 all day
It's only let down for me is the lume, terrible but I do love the watch....wear mine on a boctok milanese bracelet....🏴⌚🏴⌚
aqui en mi pais, la mayoria de hombres usan relojes de 50 mm o más incluso, aun y cuando la estatura promerio de los hombres es de de 1.70 mts
200 m water resistance for under $100. You need to appreciate this fact a lot more.
I have no problem with casio duro on my small wrists it looks fine to me
7 in wrist. I'm good.
Its made big so that u can read it easily under water when diving. Its for the purpose not fashion
Edit - It wears as 42mm on my 6.8 inch wrist
Perfect for me
The duro is more an actual professional dive watch than an accessory or a "time piece".
It has 44mm because it's supposed to be worn over a diving suit, simple!
That’s not a big case even on his arm
Manlets complaining about size again, just wear a woman's watch.
It's not the problem that the watch is big. The problem is that your wrist is small.
That's because it's a watch for a man
I hate only one thing about duro that they didn't gave a stainless steel bracelet...I mean dive watch without a bracelet is not a dive watch.....I truly hate the resin strap
You do realise that a proper dive watch would always be worn with a strap, as opposed to a fashionable bracelet?
Anyways, I'm sure you can find someone who sells a bracelet mod kit for the Duro, if you're someone that wants to wear it as a dress watch.
You have small wrists. We get it. 35 mm to 40 mm might be more to your liking.
It's widely accepted that 44mm is just too large of a case, even for large wrists. It's just not as tasteful as a 40-42mm.
I really dislike this petty criticism.
THERE IS NO LAW OR RULE ABOUT YOUR WATCH SIZE
DON'T BUY IT LADY
I really dislike your sexist remark.
Yes this is a small 'petty' criticism, but no watch reviewer seems to talk about it, so I will. Feel free to not watch my content if it makes you so angry.
Tiny on my 8inch wrist 😆😎
It's a dive watch. It's supposed to be big.
Invicta pro diver cheap 😂
The Casio Duro is best watch in the whole world
It’s a Man’s watch. Not for women or children. 😂
