Also for camera fixes, during play I’ve noticed it is better. But for the coaching and other challenges, it still gets locked behind rocks or trees. And you can’t even do anything about it since it’s a challenge, so if you have to do it, you’ll get 5+ swings where you can’t even see how you’re swinging. And the green grids are mostly better, but there’s still some ghost breaks happening 100%. And wind is still a little off, sometimes it just straight up goes in the opposite direction, and with a perfect swing and aim, it’ll just go to the wrong side the winds blowing. Less frequent, but still happening.
Great start to patches! Just need a green level camera now

This is a pretty clever 3-click system Respawn, the way it's setup should negate the ability for the cheaters to set up macros as all the shots, shaping totally change the speed and timing windows. From playiing tonight, it's very easy to perfect/perfect, even on Sim Difficulty, that's my only critism of it I have.

Looking forward to the 3-Click swing, still struggling with putting which wasn't the case with the 2K golf games, but I like the overall presentation of this game better.

Fast play is nice but I thought it would've been more like when you finish a hole I usually hold A n it skips to the next tee box, thought it would've included that.

Good to see. Hope they keep adding more. Here are my suggestions (THIS IS LONG, but I think there's some good suggestions in here). Please add your ideas and share.
Player Customization
More customization for the create a player (facial features and body styles - fat, skinny, jacked, long legs, short legs, height, weight, etc).
Events
Option to change the number of rounds in events.
Practice
Driving range. Maybe even a Top Golf partnership…
Night range option.
Golfers
Add legends (Nicklaus, Palmer, Trevino, Sneed, Hogan, etc)
Throwback Mode
Vintage golfers, clubs and balls.
Equipment
Equipment (shaft, head ball) that affects ball flight (height, distance and spin, etc).
Retro Equipment.
Animations
More of them and more accurate to the shot result. No fist pumping when 60ft from the hole.
Bend over and pick up the ball after a made putt. D’on’t just stand there like a psycho.
Camera
Create-A-Cam (control zoom, pitch, wide angle, etc).
Keep camera from pre-address view (lower and zoomed in more on golfer - looks awesome). Don’t zoom out and change angle when the golfer addresses the ball. The big close up low angle looks super realistic.
More creative ball flight camera. Close up of ball spinning. Ball gets bigger the closer it gets to the camera. Improved sensation of speed, etc.
Roll cam - sucks. Angle it up more. Less grass more course beauty. More like the hole flyover cam.
Tee Box
Ability to move around in the tee box and position your shot.
Caddies
More caddie customization, or real caddies.
Caddie tips
Caddie yardage book
Hold the pin
Move the bag out of the way
Pull clubs out of bags
Towel off the ball and clubs
Replays
Needed.
Weather/Time of Day
Dynamic weather and time of day (trees swaying, clouds moving, rain).
Course conditions that change with time of day and weather.
Carts/Walking
Would be cool to be able to drive a cart and or walk to your ball.
Range Finder
Ability to use a range finder to pick a target for distance, elevation, etc.
Looks like looking through a range finder in real life.
Lie
More various lie percentages. They’re too good too often.
Fat Shots/Thin Shots
Should be in the game.
On Screen Display
Ability to turn/toggle off for more realism.
Frame-rate
60fps (I know it’s coming)
Driving
Too easy to hit the fairway.
Putting
More stances, more grips styles, putter lengths, etc.
Lip-outs (if not already fixed)
Swing
Option for a much faster swing.
Way more swing types and animations.
Shot Types
Different stances for shot types
Sound
More driver/putter sounds.
“Ooooooooh” sound when a putt is tracking towards the hole.
“Boooooo” when you miss the green on 16 waste management.

More stances for driving, putting, bunker, flops, fades, draws, etc.
Fans
Fans track and react to ball more/better.

Some really good ones there, Especially driving and walking, although its completely beyond the effort I bet they'd be willing give. It would make the game hundreds of times better to have that option. It would allow everyone to really experience the passion and patience of golf with that kinda flow and realism, instead of skipping through as fast as possible. Seems like a completely different kinda game though. A golf simulator for hardcore golf fanatics. Closest thing we've seen to that was in Gta5 with extremely rudimentary golf mechanics. GTA6👀🤞

-Caddytips as well, which I'm surprised there's nothing more then selecting the model. I expected to have something like the caddy give suggestions and play more of a role in the game, but its quite simply an aesthetic that you rarely even see.
I think there definitely should be WAAY more swing styles an animation, I mean seriously 3!! That Baseball game has so many😂, we don't even at the least have the option to select one of the pros animations that already exists in the game, or many of their clothing options as well.
(Guess they gotta have something to add later) but at the moment its underwhelming.
To add to the first topic, I'd be happy with at least seeing an animation of my golfer an caddy hopping in a cart, or engaging in some semblance of realism after shots. I think as of now we have a small cutscene of them walking over the same bridge every time at the 18th.
@@achillesx1487 Agreed. I wish San Diego Studios (makers of MLB The Show) would make a golf game. There is no stone unturned with those games. They're incredible. Feels like you're playing a broadcast. Golf is all about subtleties and nuance. It's the small things that give you the sense of really playing the game. EA's offering is good but there's plenty of room for improvement.

Great vid as usual. Straight to the info. Been playing the patch since it dropped. I dont really think they fixed the cups tbh lol. Also they really havent added anything to the store which is a bummer.
But, i wanna say your video on putting the other day and how tempo works was the best video out there for this game. I also figured out on short game shots, holding the swing stick forward for the follow through also gives more perfects and just barely fast/slow timing. Idk how EA expected people to figure that out lol

Did they add different game modes for private matches with your friends (currently, stroke play is the only mode available)?
The fast play option didn’t really do a whole lot. I wanted it to skip the intros to each hole, not just the waving animations. Because now it frequently shows 2 back to back even after pressing skip. So there’s still a little too much between holes.
Turn off Hole Flyovers in settings
Do you know when normal 2v2 is coming so you can team up with friends

I wonder if they fixed the crowd (they stand in the way) . Several times i've hit my ball into the crowd and they act like trees lol. My ball hits the folk and stops instantly.
They sometimes applaud too quickly after a putt too.
More realistic tho surely. shouldn't hit your ball into the crowd my man
The base game is good but the menu's need work, it won't save my settings such as audio settings, my golfers outfits seem glitched.. I removed a glove on an outfit but it just stays on no matter what I do lol, it feels leggy to navigate.
looks a great update! how does the 3-click mechanic in EA play in comparsion to 2K's 3-Click? Faster/Slower? Which do you prefer?

Yes its a nice update...but I wonder if people told EA to make the rough and sand play like it should, I think there's too much carry distance. It plays too much like the fairways. I hope EA is told this, as it will really amp up the realism. Good review as always.. Il love the "slow" play. It feels like a real broadcast. The visuals are too nice for me not to take it in.
100%!!! This is my only gripe with the game. Sand traps/heavy rough plays almost the exact same as the fairway. There is really zero penalty for hitting the ball in these areas. I can be in heavy rough and still put the ball right on the green no problem.

I would love the ability to do 1 round events in career, having just Quick and Full is not enough for me. I don't want to do Full for the time it takes, and I don't like Quick which adds a ton of randomness to your score. Being able to say how many rounds you want in a event seems like a simple add.

Great update for features, yes. but yet again has broken career mode for most people. career mode will crash every time I drop the ball into the cup, and PS5 Volume settings still won't save.
I am SHOCKED that I’m actually thinking about EA positively but here we are. Their responses and patches have addressed community concerns quickly and effectively! Crazy times man.
Loving the game and their handling of it so far - have high hopes for the future!
this isn't meant to be a sob story so please don't take it that way.I have AML and had a bone marrow transplant on Dec 19th. one of the meds they have me on causes tremors I liked this game but fine motor skills cause the tremors to get worse after 45mins 1hr I would get frustrated and quit playing due to how bad I was swinging. not ashamed at all to admit I played for 6hrs yesterday and LOVED it.
3 click is great!! Very challenging on hard difficulty. Great to see EA already improving the game so fast

Downloading now. I've been waiting for this update to give the game another chance. I want to like this game, so I hope this patch can deliver.
The one thing they still need to fix well there's actually two the way the golfer stands for different shots full stop if you are hitting a chip shot your feet are generally closer together full stop if you're hitting a bunker shot you often open your stance full stop that needs fixing as well probably the last thing I would like to see added is rain I do not understand how rain is not in the game😮. In fact I'm completely baffled how they did not include it in the game
it would make the game look SO much more polished. Pretty sure even the old tiger woods games had different shot stances. Really hope they bring it into the game

It is found where you pick left stick/right stick for your swing mechanics, it's a third option.

I reached level 50 a few days ago. When that happened no more XP was earned. Does anyone know if that's permanent?

I'm glad we can't MAX out our stats with points. There should be some areas you aren't as "skilled" in as others.

@@MoreRespawn I’ve played on PS5 but got the game on Series X I noticed that on PS5 the swing stick vibrates if you don’t pull back straight however no such feedback for Xbox controller just trying to figure out if this feature is PS5 only
I am hearing this as well and passed it along to devs.
Where do the developers most likely look at and consider implementing this feedback?
One mechanic that I think this game is really missing and we've seen before, is clubs automatically changing with the distance of your marker.
- I know shot types are a variable even at trying to achieve the same distance as others, but I often find myself continuously cycling through clubs, shot types, and even shot type for each club just trying to get to a desired distance.
As to the patch: -Some of the greens..are still a little, let's say *wonky*
,A few challenges are still, either unplayable due to crowds in the way, or are not registering for completion.
*CPU opponents in almost all of challenges are laughably bad, consistently hitting bunker to bunker, water, out of bounds, swinging Texas at 1000, and the biggest of all, Whiffing a 1inch tap in, more annoying having to watch then anything! I've unfortunately conditioned myself to immediately skipping through until they're done !SHtanking! all over the golf course.
How do we turbo charge our shots if we use 3-Click, or is that the bonus of using the swing stick?
Over power it and get good accuracy to get the turbo power blast 3000 animation

Are you guys now being bribed by EA? This isn't a huge new update at all. Where's the 60fps option for console? Where's the option to play 1-4 rounds per tourney in career mode?
If you don't think this is a sizeable update, then cool? I would say fixing many of the biggest gripes of the game, adding in a whole different swing type, and adding in 3 features that came directly from community feedback along with a ton of bug fixes is pretty huge lmaooo

It's a pretty big update just 2 weeks after release. And just a week after they announed they were going to come up with these updates. I didnt expect this quick. They said 60fps I'd coming. I'm looking forward to that too although it's golf, not car racing. Fps is not that important in a gold game.
