In Canada not only do we have no rights to self defence but our tools are being systematically removed from the people. Stand your ground and defend your constitutional rights; you don’t ever want to lose them.

We all feel a sense of security. My place is double fenced. My chickens free range 24/7. They roost in the goat pen at night. Anyway they were down by the road scratching in the leaves. About 60feet from the road on my property. They stopped and were trying to steal my chickens. The chickens alarmed squawking and the LGD which are both larger than Cochise took off barking. They got into car and rushed off. I realized how bad it will get. As far as self defense I am a senior physically impaired so I certainly cant be physical with arthritis. There are other ways to fight.

you better put a driveway dinger on the gate entrance and one closer to the house and barn so you can tell if anyone is really approaching or just delivering at the gate. Leave a big bin at the gate to leave deliveries. these perimeter things are so important, i still feel wide open and unprotected so I'm looking for more fencing and cedar posts.

Please be extra careful even in your home. I am a single older woman and my home is a ranch style house in the country with a walk-out basement that faces the road and neighbors. Three years ago, I found men's footsteps near my basement windows. Within a week there were footprints near my side door. It was enough to scare me. I made solid board window and door inserts with boards to reinforce and hold them in place. I also reinforced the entry points on the main floor. Then, I purchased a defense tool for the first time and make a point of shooting it off periodically and especially when I see strangers in the area. My kids all think I am crazy, but I have never seen any more evidence of an intruder. And I can sleep at night. Please ladies take care of yourselves.

I'm in my 60's, I was taught from before I could remember, girls would go to bathrooms, concessions or anywhere in public by twos or more. We all did it without thinking or knowing why when we were younger. It was what "everybody" did. Later we knew why. It's just what me and my friends and most ladies that I know, do it today without even thinking about it. You are correct, even men that are a lot smaller than us can take me down. Strength, adrenaline and speed cannot be overcome by most women, especially without some type of self-defense skills. I watch people target practice and think they could shoot an attacker. Shooting, standing still, time to draw (from purses is a joke) and aim at a stationary target is NOT the real world. This applies to men and women. Folks get a false sense of safety. I don't feel less equal or a submissive woman, I just accept reality. Muscle mass and testosterone matter.

We have a gate on our very remote Florida property @Patera, signed "private property" & "no trespassing", chained shut and usually padlocked. Sometimes we just loop the chain if we're running in and out. One night we forgot to close the padlock and there was a knock on our door at after 9pm. Well, my tool is always with me and the woman delivering flowers to the wrong address was very lucky that night because I asked questions through the closed door. Turns out she had taken the padlock & chain off to drive up our 1/4 mile driveway, through the woods. She really thought that was right thing to do. Still shaking my head at the thought, her bravery and her extreme stupidity. Hope she understood how close she came to really complicating my life.

Thank you so very much for this video. There are so many women out there that I see that pay no attention to their surroundings, especially if they have little kids. I know they are paying attention to the kids, but this is when someone can attack you too. Ladies, please don’t change your child’s diaper on the back seat and the door open with your back turned away from your surroundings- this is so dangerous- times have changed!

The tool is important, but the ammo is also important. Hollow is best, so it doesn't go thru and thru. Always, think they have armor on. I've trained my 8yr olds on a 22. I carry a 9. A problem can also be accuracy, because of length of the barrel. You MUST practice! You must be able to keep the barrel level. Kick back happens! So Practice, Practice and Practice some MORE!! Older women with arthritis in their hands can always try a revolver. But, either way, it takes practice. PLEASE don't keep it your purse! Wear it!

I am slightly under 5’ and one would say I was on the thinner side.
I have been followed around a store 5 different times by both men and women. My mother beat into my head the danger of guns so I have always been extremely afraid of them but felt like I needed something to protect myself. I prayed about it and asked God to give me a sign and the very next day you did a video (a couple of months ago) about the importance of defending oneself especially as a woman. Still extremely reluctant, I prayed while I was on my way to make my purchase. We met my folks for dinner and told them about my intentions and of all people, my stepmother strongly agreed with my decision.
While in the store where I made my purchase I got followed by a strange man (this was the 5th time).
I made a decision to join a range and cried the entire time I was shooting for the first time. That was only a month ago. I am much more comfortable but it has been hard. I still have not shot the one that I purchased…I am working up to it. That being said, until I am protected I don’t go anywhere by myself.
    I am in SE Tennessee.
I intend to go every week until I have my concealed permit.
I HAVE to do it. That is all there is to it.
The Lord is using your message, especially to me.
    Thank you

As they say, all states and cities are border states and border cities now. Our area just got more busloads of people who arrived in Denver a few days ago. There is no more room in the shelters. Some of these people are coming here, being put up in motels but have no jobs and are bored. We are seeing crime increasing in even the areas that once were quiet communities so even those that are in the rural areas as you said can encounter something unexpected not just the urban areas. Some people who are coming into yards or property have an agenda, know what to say as a distraction. Patara, glad that you were clear they don't need to return and very happy that you were available to help your son so he wasn't there dealing with them alone. If you know neighbors and trust them they need to know right away of any encounter like this so we can all work to watch out for each other.

Loved what you said and I totally agree. I am a 55+ year old woman and am a proud owner of a couple of S&W 380EZ “tools”. I do not have a good grip and had trouble with other “tools” but this one is perfect for us who have hand strength issues. I love mine and strongly suggest it.

Good job... People can do far more under stress than they think they can.. So train up from what you think you can do.. You will be fine!

i agree with patara strongly about not carrying your powpow in your purse. i think women need to learn to get along without even carrying a purse at all. if you have to, try a backpack or cross body bag or heck even the dreaded fanny pack lol. hands free makes you less vulnerable and helps you get to your waist band faster.

9 years ago when I started driving a truck I stopped carrying any type of purse or clutch. If it doesn't fit in my jeans pockets I don't need it.

I would suggest finding a female nra certified instructor for specialized training. I was lucky and had one at my regular range that gave tips for women issues with hand and arm strength. My dad, male friends, husband and conceal carry instructors for two different states never thought to show me some very helpful tips. Please be safe and have a wonderful and blessed new year.

Be cautious about those who say they are looking for a lost dog. We had break ins on my street and it was a guy looking for a "lost dog." His buddy would meet up with him once he got in the house and they took everything of value.

My husband and I were just talking about this yesterday. This video is absolutely spot on.

You're spot on about the size. My spouse bought me a belly band for my nine pew pew. Have to admit I'm one of those who carried in my purse until you called me out. I do recommend at least an introductory course of a female is new to the pew pew community, confidence building for sure.
