    I Remind Mr cambell in 2008 we had one of worst resessions this country has ever seen also the pound and the euro were equal. .. At this time we were in the EU so Mr cambell don't pretend all was perfect when in the EU

    • @stephenhunter4585
      @stephenhunter4585 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Er, that was a worldwide recession - nothing to do with our membership of the EU

    • @boptah7489
      @boptah7489 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Stephen hunter. It was a worldwide recession that the Labour party lead us into in the worst possible state. gordon Brown even gave speeches praising the bankers at mansion house. Blair and Brown are the biggest pair of incompetents this country has ever had. We are still suffering today because of the 2007 crash and we will not be out of it for several years yet.. but when we leave the EU we will at long last be able to set our own policy, Instead of cow towing to the EU.. The EU is still in shit street. and is still doing QE to this day. The EU will ONLY go downhill because they are incompetent and they have just lost one of their biggest assets. And btw. Gordon Brown sold half our gold at rock bottom prices to prop up the Euro. The EU are a millstone around our neck. And thank God we are leaving.

    • @stephenhunter4585
      @stephenhunter4585 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Incorrect - the recession started in the US with the banking sector. Whichever party had been in government would have suffered the same consequences. Regarding Brexit, the tide is turning, people who believe as you do with no tangible evidence are slowly coming to their senses.

    • @boptah7489
      @boptah7489 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Stephen hunter. The recession was just as much a UK problem as it was a US problem. It was Gordon Brown that encouraged all the Government debt and thought that the private sector debt was not a bubble. He even said " no more return to Tory boom and bust". Gordon Brown was so hapless he did not realise that the whole economy was a series of debt bubbles encouraged by the government.. this was why He will always be the chancellor that sold the nations gold at bargain basement prices. and the PM that led us intp the worst financial crisis ever. And there is no way of denying that. However. Corbyn and McDonnel would be even worse.
      There are more and more people coming over to the brexit position. In fact this so called negotiation has caused a lot of anger in the country at the sheer arrogance of the EU and the uselessness of the 'remainer' PM. I am convinced that remainers are a genetic underclass and have no balls, spine , common sense or self worth. remainers actually believe it is acceptable to be ruled by unelected bureaucrats and be under the jurisdiction of a foreign court. We are still in the EU , but i hope it is becoming apparent to our 'special underclass' that there is no point in trying to do a deal with an entity that needs you to have a bad deal for their very survival. I am getting a bit fed up with making excuses for the 'remainers' in the country that keep on talking the country down. Especially as a lot of them in London. and london will suffer the most/

    • @stephenhunter4585
      @stephenhunter4585 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a worldwide problem you idiot. Iceland, Ireland and Greece almost went bankrupt - was that Gordon Browns fault too. Every Chancellor in every country in the developed world faced exactly the same problems. Gordon Brown was actually instrumental in leading the world economies out of the recession, until the Tories got in and curtailed the recovery with their austerity programme. Anyway I can see I've got an uphill task of trying to convince someone like yourself with limited intelligence and swallows anything Nigel Farage and the Daily Mail says - so will leave you with your delusions.

    It is 'blindingly obvious' that the EU are never going to give us a deal that would be even remotely acceptable.We must be punished and ridiculed by the EU to show the other 27 countries what they would be letting themselves in for should they dare to ever think about leaving this failing political construct.
    Once we leave the EU in the manner we voted for,, we must next reform our electoral voting system to the fairer proportional representation model. These politicians MUST be held to account and our two party system is not representative and should be consigned to history.

    The number of European nurses and midwives working in the UK has not dropped; several studies have said so. What has fallen is the number on the Register of the professional body, the NMC. The referendum result does mean that many nurses and midwives and other health professionals who have worked in the UK in the past but have now returned home, no longer see any point in staying on the register. I work in health care and during my life have worked between the UK and Australia. About three years ago I decided to let my UK registration lapse because I am very unlikely to return to the UK to practice in my profession. Brexit means many European nurses no longer fell it's worth paying the registration fees on the off chance they may return to the UK, where there scope of practice may no longer be recognised anyway within a few years. I suspect many British nurses now back in the UK have likewise given up their German, Dutch and Spanish registrations too.

It's no good waiting until after the referendum to admit that and then whingeing about the path US PEOPLE took. Conservatives, labour, lib dems, greens and even ukip will not sort out many peoples concerns about immigration or the NHS, they are all the same. I will be voting Anne Marie Waters as soon as I get the chance!

    One thing the vote has brought about, is the true colours of the people in the public spotlight, that given the real FACTS of history regarding the eu and the direction it's heading, they must KNOW. Which shows them to be even more evil and self centered than originally thought. To me it's highlited some new ones whom I thought were ok, but for the record Campbell was not one of them.
    Funny also that its all about 💰 and no real debate touches the big issue which is centralisation of power.

    UK was the fastest growing economy in Europe, now one of the slowest. Wages rising lower than inflation, with an expectation it'll take a decade or more to get back to 2007's real wages. And that's based on the assumption we do get a trade deal.

    • @MrTangolizard
      @MrTangolizard 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Phil Dobbie always strange to say slowest growing economy when compared to Europe when Europe was on its arse and now its growing again of course it will grow faster it was ON ITS ARSE for a decade the uk is still growing and as to wages not keeping pace with inflation that was the same in the e.u due to mass migration I earn less now than I did 20 years ago so stop trying to blame brexit on things that have been happening for decades

    • @eju547
      @eju547 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Except that isn't how the economy works. The EU is the largest trading area in the world and will of course, as a percentage of global growth, lose ground 'relative' the rising economies of East Asia and South Asia (it goes without saying for any developed state in modern political economy), but it will remain the strongest economic powerhouse for a long time in the future.
      The trend for states which seek to compete globally is towards pooling resources into regional agreements and blocs. trading globally from within a regional organisation provides massive economies of scale, clout and collective protections which going global alone could not bring. The UK will become, if it gets no trade deal with the EU, the 'only' state in the G20 which doesn't have a trade deal encompassing its largest export or import market. The UK will sink if it continues along its current trajectory. Without even having left the confidence in our economy is declining, inflation is rising because of the value of the pound's effect on the cost of imports, Australia have stated a post-Brexit trade deal would be less beneficial than current arrangements, the UK will be leaving CETA (one of the most comprehensive trade deals between the EU and Canada), and these developments all come at a time when wages are stagnating. You talk of moving on to a 'world model' despite the fact that the world model was exactly that which we already existed within (a regional-to-world-facing economy).
      I am watching and, thus far, just the threat of taking an economically illogical, incoherent and silly turn in leaving the EU and SM has meant the UK has sunk to the lowest growth economy in the G7, the eurozone economies are out-pacing UK growth (2.5% gdp growth to 1.5), business confidence is shrinking, financial and banking jobs are being relocated to Paris, Dublin and Frankfurt. It is a mess.
