extremely helpful video . brake light wouldnt turn on then caught this video and low and behold that 25 amp fuse was blown out never would have thought it had that fuse and the one inside the truck
You totally saved my backside! I had older LED after market lights that shorted and when intalling new ones couldnt get brake lights to work. Went through everything. Your circuit and fuse walk through helped me locate the 25a in the dash that was blown. (not to mention a few 10a) Thanks!
Fun fact. Screw that clips. I replace my brake light switch, installing the new one the clip was being a pain. Then it pings like a clip from an m1 garand and launched itself up into the inside of my daah. 30 mim later i finally found it in some part of the framing back behind the steering wheel. Pain in the ass. Do not lose that clip!
@@reygonza3740 Yes, look up your rear tail light circuit board. Very easy and cheap to fix. It's where all the rear lighting harnesses plug into. The inside pins rust or burn out. Let me know if that helped!
@@reygonza3740 Your comment about the parking fuses saved me a trip to the shop. I have worked countless hours replacing hiring harness cords, testing bulbs, and replacing fuses. I was about to start examining the master cord that transfers current from the hood to the tailights for any broken wires. Thanks for the tip.
I have an 05 Sierra 1500 and my brake lights light up when the marker lights turn on. If the headlights are turned off the brake lights work normally. But if the headlights or marker lights are on the brake lights illuminate as well
All of my fuses work I just bought a tail light power distributor and harness for the right side it fixed my turn signals but not my tail lights/ break lights. What do I do???
I checked the fuse under the hood- good. I checked the fuses inside the cab on the end of dash- both good. I changed the brake switch on the brake pedal. Still, the brake lights don't work. The 3rd light on the cab lights up when brake pedal is pressed. All other lights work. What's next? Please help. Thanks so much, Roy
I’m having a difficult with my Chevy so my brakes wont come on when I press it or when I put it in reverse my reverse lights won’t come on but if I turn my emergency lights on they all come on. i replaced my brake pressure sensor , I changed my fuses and I replaced my tail light combination junction block and still got no answers
Hey question as Im doing fuses in same make and model what goes in that empty space with metal sticking out you have nothing there now and mine is empty too but not sure if I need to put a rely there or what or no or whats it for?
Hey so I got back lights on and I got left and right turn signal but when I push the break pedal down the back lights don’t work for that tho..? You know why
So I have a 04 Silverado 1500 I checked fuses the top brake light will light up and however the left and right will not when I press the break fuses look good I will double check again but if it’s not that then is it what your changing out or could there be another problem
I have power to the two 10 amp fuses even when brake is not pushed. Changed brake switch/bulbs and still no brake lights. No reverse lights either. Help!
Ohm test, 6 pins in sets of 3. Two normally closed one set normal open. They should change by pushing the black button. Or the fuses are good and the lights don’t work. Switch or wires, that all that’s left
Ok but you u please tell me why only one side works well driving, both rear brake lights will come on when the brake is pressed just not the passenger side well driving, any help is much appreciated
There's also a circuit board (gray block) located at the end of the truck under the bumper on the left side. This powers all the lights in the rear. You might have a bad pin connection. Also the harness might be bad.
Question? I replaced my brake light switch on my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500. It looks exactly like the one in the video, same fuses, brake pedal and brake pedal rod. I switched out the brake light switch and now I have no brakes. The pedal is hard to push and basically will not stop the truck. The fuses are good, the switch is good and I replaced the switch correctly and even put the old brake light switch back in and still no brakes. It is like I need to bleed the brakes or they are air locked. The brake pedal is stiff and hard to push down. I can take the reservoir lid off where the brake fluid is and pump the brake and it acts like it is not pumping, because the fluid does not squirt out of the reservoir. Do you have any idea as to why it may be reacting this way? Help appreciated.
@@MrBlindMode yep, I figured it out and changed it; weird though, how changing out my brake light switch made my booster go bad. Still haven't figured that out.
I need help, I have a 2007 GMC Sierra classic every light works except for the right taillight and license plate light. The “broken” taillight works when the blinker and reverse light is on however the running light doesn’t, it is not the bulb and I have checked the fuses.I have also replaced the harness and junction box.
Why is when i put brake switch back on the brake lights stay on. I changed the brake booster and now the brake lights stay on when i put the switch on. I pull it off the brake pedal the brake lights go off . I changed the switch with another one and it does the same thing. Any reason why ? Maybe the new booster rod is thicker then the old one and pushing the switch in more when i push it all the way on brake pedal
