- I turned plain black second-hand overalls into these maximalist forest-punk pants, with paint, patches and embroidery.
Shoutout to @RattusRattus, whose content both inspired these pants and was a source of entertainment and motivation while I worked. Check out their awesome punk and DIY videos at their channel here: / @rattusrattus

HELL YEAH HELL YEAH!!!!!!
Edit - the bone placement being exact is so cool!! The fact you did this with no thimble is . How do you still have fingers 💀 I’d die. the method of colouring as you sew is so smart ! I love the variety of patches - and the embroidery is SELF TAUGHT ???? Literally what. SO TALENTED !!! The turkey tails … moss … so freaking good! And thank you for your incredibly sweet shout out - full circle because I am now very inspired by YOU! 🥰 keep up the amazing work ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this message, I love your content and I'm so glad you like what I made!!! Also my fingers definantly did not enjoy my sewing method lol
This is amazing!!! I also am so inspired by RattusRattus and this gave me similar vibes I couldn't believe when you said. Awesome job both of you hehe. I might have to make something inspired by you both.
Looks great! Here’s a tip for working with layers of thick fabric: hammer it. Seriously, just take a hammer to it. It’ll make it way easier to sew through
Thank you for the tip, I was kind of hammering my needle through with my scissor handles a few times
Oh that's such a good idea. I know taking a hammer to fabrics is often used in stuff that has to look worn, but never thought of using that this way.
here from rabbits channel! i totally relate to seeing their channel and just suddenly being so inspired, their videos immediately inspired me to learn how to make patches. this is such an awesome project
@@ohkaypoh same!!
I love this project so so much!! It is so so awesome, and thank you so much for sharing your process! I also have recently gotten into watching @rattusrattus and their channel is so cool. I'm really trying to DIY and punk up my whole wardrobe. I've mostly been doing patches, but I made a ribcage tank top a couple days ago! Seeing your overalls though... I really want to try and paint more things on my clothes!! :D
I apsolutely recommend it, its so much fun to customize everything. My advice if you want to use Acrylic paint to paint clothing is to use some Fabric Medium mixed in with the paint, and avoid using too thick layers as it can get wrecked in the wash (i learned the hard way lol)
@@greenthegremlin Thanks!! And yes I did recently get some fabric medium! :D I am very excited to use it more. though thank you for the advice on the layers, I will totally keep that in mind, as I have yet to try anything more than some fun but simple patterns here and there lol.
I also have some of those puffy fabric paint tubes, and I have found I can use them kinda like finger paint! (though they dry very translucent) .
I am OBSESSED WITH THESE OVERALLS oh my goodness gracious
It's a great video too -- im losin' it over here
I love this project!! I like that you made a mixture of painted and embroidered leaves, ferns, moss, etc. Really cool way to use up fabric scraps too. New sub here--looking forward to your next project!
Hello brethren excellent to find you on this plain excellent work
it’s a small detail, but i especially LOVE the vertebrae on the back⏤ it ties everything together so well :):)

Well that's rad!! Now I'm inspired too! 🌿
These are the coolest pants of all time
Very cool! Some really clever placements, overall very nicely balanced. I feel ya on wearing before finished! I'm not done my Y2K alien themed jacket, but I keep wearing it.

It's super fun to put patches on clothes - definitely adds some character !
I love them!!! And the bones being in the right places is so cool!
I wasn't expecting to see your face not a bad thing of course and it looks amazing
lol thank you :)
These are so cool! The embroidery is really impressive and I love the bones being in the right anatomical places.
I am so glad that You Tube recommended your video. I love the overalls you made. They are amazing! I also find Rattus Rattus to be very inspiring. I went to your Etsy store after watching this video and had to buy one of your hand painted t-shirts. I can't wait for it to arrive.
Thank you so much for your support, I'm so glad you like my art!
This is such a cool project and the overalls turned out amazing! I'm in awe of your endurance and skill in finishing this. Your embroidery is very whimsical. Large projects like this tend to end up in a pile for me.
