    I've seen this same bass in a music store in Schwabing in the seventies, except it was an unlined fretless. I fell in love on the spot and I still am lusting after it. That was a sight you never forget.

    Sounds really nice - great playing as well. Question: Have you ever had problems with a "clicking sound", when you play the strings maybe a little too aggressive with the fingers on your right hand?
    What would you recommend in terms of set-up on the bass? Lift the strings? Other type af strings maybe?
    Keep up the good work!

    • @MichaelSchmittEleven

    I'm always interested in what string height people use. Couldn't really tell from the video and would really like to know your action and neck relief, if you don't mind.

    • @MichaelSchmittEleven
      @MichaelSchmittEleven  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! I prefer a higher action with a bit more of a curvy neck relief. For that, I also use a shim in the neck pocket. (I do on most basses). This way, the tone stays focused and tight, even if I dig in harder, what I like to do, especially when playing live (and/ or tuning down a semi tone).
      Stay safe and healthy! 😀👍🏻

  • @paolozak3014
    @paolozak3014 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey hey, doesn't that cover get in the way of palm muting ? ...apparently not for you 😉
    If you dig clear proeminent mids, then perhaps you should try Thomastik Infelds or Galli flatwounds ...not to mention nylon tape wounds. Ever tried ?

    • @MichaelSchmittEleven
      @MichaelSchmittEleven  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thx a lot for watching and commenting, brother! 🙏🏻 The cover doesn't get in the way with my kind of playing, and I just love the looks.
      I have the Thomastik on another P-Bass that I really love and play very often. And I totally dig them. But the Chromes definitively have more bite, more midrange and more string tension, what I absolutely enjoy on this very bass!
      All the best, stay safe and healthy! 😀

    Regarding the serial number of the plate, it seems to be a 73. Great tone with these pickups but the player is also totally guilty in this situation. :)

    • @MichaelSchmittEleven
      @MichaelSchmittEleven  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. You're right. But the stamps and the pots definitely make it a 75. The holes for the thumbrest are above the E-string as well. I use an older pickguard on this bass, as the original one has two big cracks. There have been quite a few cases in which Fender had older neckplates laying around, which then were used a few years later.
      Thx a lot for your kind words! 😀🙏🏻
