Like the bass, like your groove - tight!
Thx, Ulrich! Your comment is really appreciated! 😀👍🏻
I've seen this same bass in a music store in Schwabing in the seventies, except it was an unlined fretless. I fell in love on the spot and I still am lusting after it. That was a sight you never forget.
There's only one cure for that, and you know it, right? ;-) Thx a lot for watching and commenting, Norm. Stay safe & healthy.
@@MichaelSchmittEleven ... lol - you got it my friend! Just recently I underwent a similar cure when I managed to get hold of another one of my life-long dreams - a 1976 Ibanez Black Eagle!!!
fantastic groove and tone
Thx a lot. 😀
Fantastic video and Bass! I have exactly the same bass same colour and same year 1975. Really great to see you love yours as much as I love mine. Fantastic bass and playing!
Thx so much, Richard! Glad, you've enjoyed it! These 70s Fenders are truly what fits my voice as a bass player the best. Have much fun with your beatiful Instrument, stay safe and healthy!
Smooth sailing 😊 love the true bass sound. Your skills are well developed.
Thx a lot. Glad you've enjoyed it.
Great Sound and Touch!

Reminds me of the great tone on the KBCS with Thomas D recording 🙏
Thx a lot for leaving a comment!
Mr Brownstone...with flats...very interesting. Sounds great!
Yeah, you´re right, Mister! ;-) Thx a lot for watching & commenting!
Very nice!! I’m waiting with great aniticipation for your next Squier CV60’s P bass video !! 🎶🎧🎸
Thx a lot! There'll be a video of this bass anytime soon! All the best! 🙏🏻
Fantastic video! Absolutely stunning bass and sounds perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Thx a lot, brother. Stay safe and healthy.
Great bass playing sounds killer 👍
The bass looks great
I have a 73 p bass same colour , white scratch plate
Maple fingerboard like yours .
I love it ,the action on mine is high but I prefer it that way too .
Keep up the good work
Thx a lot, Warren! Have a beautiful Xmas time.
Btw: Your playing is amazing, Michael.
Thx so much! 🙏🏻😀
I like this bass a lot … and on top it sounds perfect!
Thx so much. Your comment is highly appreciated! Glad, you like the video and the bass. All the best!
Very nice and warmth tone. Flats and EMG pickup seem to be a great combo on this bass.
No wonder you've worn it out to the bone! :D
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thx a lot for your nice comment, Bob! Yeah, she really gets some regular love! 😉 All the best, stay safe and healthy!
Great Bass Player too! That 75 Fender P Bass is a True Keeper! The bass playing & bassline at 8:07 with fast fingering Outstanding!
Thx a lot for this nice comment! 😀👍🏻
Fantastic skills!
Thx a lot, Igor! 🙏🏻
Great instrument in the best hands!
Wow, thanks so much, brother! 🙏🏻 All the best.
Geile Sounds. Und Video in Top Qualität.
Und gespielt wie ein Profi.
Vielen Dank, mein Lieber! 👍🏻🙏🏻
Very cool, as always.
Thx, Eugene! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Preci with flats is a really unique sound, especially in (Neo)-Soul. But: Preci with round wounds is killer, too. Just listen to The Who: Live at Leeds. This sound seems to be forgotten.....
Absolutely agree! :-)
That album inspired me to take up bass. Still playing 50+ years after my first gigs back in my teens 😎
Great bass with a real nice neck. Your playing style is a lot like mine...very improvisional, and you do it very well ! Still not sold on those EMG GZR pickups though....
Thx a lot, Rick! For me, the EMG is a prefect match on this bass. But it's all question of taste, for sure. 😀👍🏻
Stay safe and healthy, and all the best.
I bought that same instrument in 1975. Wish I could hold her again. Sold it 2 years later for a Ric.
Thx for watching and commenting!
The bass right now is probably in someone’s closet because the lady’s husband passed away
@@ramencurry6672 If so there's a good chance I could get it back! I sold it to a classmate in 1976
Much appreciated!
Thx so much, Martin! Keep it low, mate! 😀👍🏻
Cheers Mike 🤗Nice close-up.
Now , you will the same to the Squier P 😁
Wilco, brother. The Squier will probably be featured in the next video. Cheers
@@MichaelSchmittEleven 😃👍🎸
Sounds really nice - great playing as well. Question: Have you ever had problems with a "clicking sound", when you play the strings maybe a little too aggressive with the fingers on your right hand?
What would you recommend in terms of set-up on the bass? Lift the strings? Other type af strings maybe?
Keep up the good work!
Thx a lot, bro! I have higher action on my basses, so even digging in harder, doesn´t cause (too much) unwanted noise.
Stay safe and healthy!
I have a 74 in the same colours. My mum bought it for me new back in 74. £235 iirc
Super cool! 👏🏻👍🏻😃
Du bist ein sehr guter Bass Spieler.
Vielen Dank! 🙏🏻😀
Amazing bass!! Any tips for making the fingerboard dirty? xD Great sound samples btw!!
Thx a ton, Jose! Well, heavy playing over decades surely helps! 😀
The lacquer on the fingerboard has vanished more or less, so the sweat and grease turns the wood darker.
Stay safe and healthy, brother! 😀👍🏻
@@MichaelSchmittEleven Excellent. I will follow suit! Keep uploading these videos. They are great!
@@jrdPalacios Great, bro! Next video is already in the making. Stay tuned 😉
Your the kind of bass player who controls the sound with the fingers, a bad sounding bass would probably sound ok in your hand haha. Cheers!!
Thx so much for your kind words. But I'm in strong believer of the principle of "fingers making the sound" indeed. All the best.
I'm always interested in what string height people use. Couldn't really tell from the video and would really like to know your action and neck relief, if you don't mind.
Hi there! I prefer a higher action with a bit more of a curvy neck relief. For that, I also use a shim in the neck pocket. (I do on most basses). This way, the tone stays focused and tight, even if I dig in harder, what I like to do, especially when playing live (and/ or tuning down a semi tone).
Stay safe and healthy! 😀👍🏻
Hey hey, doesn't that cover get in the way of palm muting ? ...apparently not for you 😉
If you dig clear proeminent mids, then perhaps you should try Thomastik Infelds or Galli flatwounds ...not to mention nylon tape wounds. Ever tried ?
Thx a lot for watching and commenting, brother! 🙏🏻 The cover doesn't get in the way with my kind of playing, and I just love the looks.
I have the Thomastik on another P-Bass that I really love and play very often. And I totally dig them. But the Chromes definitively have more bite, more midrange and more string tension, what I absolutely enjoy on this very bass!
All the best, stay safe and healthy! 😀
@@MichaelSchmittEleven Galli are worth trying, interesting mids and enough tension
Regarding the serial number of the plate, it seems to be a 73. Great tone with these pickups but the player is also totally guilty in this situation. :)
Hi there. You're right. But the stamps and the pots definitely make it a 75. The holes for the thumbrest are above the E-string as well. I use an older pickguard on this bass, as the original one has two big cracks. There have been quite a few cases in which Fender had older neckplates laying around, which then were used a few years later.
Thx a lot for your kind words! 😀🙏🏻
Halo Mike tell me please, what in video how’s bands play list ?
The used backing tracks should be listed in the video description! Thx for watching and commenting! 😀🙏🏻
Thumbs up before see.. kk
Thx so much, brother. I hope, you like it. 😀
the audio sicks, sorry...
Thx a lot for watching and commenting! Stay safe and healthy!
