great video from your last video and posts I guessed 28% loss from hub dyno to engine dyno which would put my guess at 494hp damm i was close.... great numbers from homeported heads and 357 cubes ...
28 % loss would of been 536 .... it loss 23% .... I can tell by your math you took 386×28 = 108.08 ... than added it to 386 = 494 ... this is wrong ... 108 is 28% of 386 we want to know what percent of the original hp was lost .... 386 ÷ .77 = 501 ..... ex if you pay 75 for a item that is 25 % off .... the original price was 75÷ (1-.25) = 75 ÷ .75= 100
12:7to 12:8 af ratio used to run about the best timing in old school non injected engines liked 34 deg always my start point. With Nitrous or supercharged 28-30 degrees on hot southern NM day could fry a piston with excess advance.
Great lesson.Gets me thinking.Geez big gains on so little adjustments.I am A first gen motor/carburetor guy and everyone and there grandmother with LS and EFI tuning.Well on the street if you can’t get your tires to hook then what is the point 🤗.Love your videos keep them coming.
The dyno sheet and tuning talk at the end of the video was worth the wait. Good discussion. Your video makes me want to go out and invest in an engine dyno, (I can dream can't I).
Hey bud, have a similar setup….. my question is what radiator and hoses did you use. I seem to have come to a stopping point at this. TIA LOVE THE VIDEOS!
Your cam guy knows his stuff I wish I would have see this video a few months ago is there any way you can give me his contact info so I can get him to build me a cam. I have a big block 427 60 over so it's a 440 getting ready to go on the dyno soon I think I'm a little shy on the camshaft for the hp I want to make. If you can give me the cam guys info it would be appreciated. Thanks I watch all your videos your friend Rick427.
Man that engine works!!! Yo get that truck ready gonna be some battling with the Tri-states at capital raceway …I will send the info through messenger..
@@TPVPRO oh hell yeah ! She’ll run! Hah! I tried to send you the info about capital I couldn’t find your name New Year’s Day 👍🏻 Hopefully it all works out because it will be a fun day!!
The afr was on point.. the bigger jet showed that. But I’m curious, if you retarded the cam would you make more top. That thing revved to 7,100 easy! And your peak was around 6500. All in all awesome vid
Are you running pump gas or E85? I have to rebuild or score another motor due to dynamic compression ratio being to high. Have you mentioned cam specs in your other videos?
Want to try something interesting? Try a 8.5 10 bolt in the place of that 9". Depending on how heavy the truck is id wager the 7.5" with a solid pinion spacer and 3.73's would live reliably.
I Win where’s my Prize 🤷♂️🤣 I can tell you from experience, every combo with either a TH350/TH400 regardless of rear end if you use 23% driveline loss you’ll be super close. Reciprocal calculation.
@@TPVPRO lol I had to poke at you! Seriously I’ve won hundreds of dollars and free parts etc over the years using my method. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it right? Thanks man great video and you knew the LT1 was a solid build! 😎

Thanks for putting in the work for this. It's cool to see a real world comparison.

That has always produced the best power on my end also. I usually shoot for that and then play with timing.👍

Any more specific info on whats done to the heads and rough specs on cam?
Came for the LT1. Stayed for MJF theme song lol

Is there a link for the build on the LT1?
I have an LT4 that I want to get in that ballpark.

Great video! How much hp does your new 400 make?
My best guess is probably 75 more HP and 70-90 more FPT.

What are the cam specs?
Great video! How much % of fuel you increased?
3 jets sizes up in the front and 2 in the back.
horsepower = torque * speed / 5252
And that constant (5252) is why torque and horsepower always cross at 5252 RPM.
oh really? then why does my C18 Cat make 1065 hp @ 1900 RPM and 2765 torque @ 1100?

I was able to run 93 with 32 degrees timing
Look us fast cat portion services he is the man to talk to about cams. He made this one for me.
@@TPVPRO curious if you have a link, when I google that it comes up with cat stuff
What is your cranking psi and dynamic compression? I see you’re running 93 just getting a good ballpark for mine
I never tested it so I have no idea.
What timing cover and harmonic balancer are you running?
Stock Gen2 timing cover summit 6.25 SFI SBC Gen1 balancer.
Want to try something interesting? Try a 8.5 10 bolt in the place of that 9". Depending on how heavy the truck is id wager the 7.5" with a solid pinion spacer and 3.73's would live reliably.
What is head cfm?
What type ecu using?
I'm the ECU because it's a Carburetor and the heads flow 260 CFM on the intake side.
What is the cam specs?
What size is the intake valve ?
2.02
What’s your website
I don't have one but Karl does. www.ellweinengines.com/
so you figured you have about 22% drive train loss then? well like you said youll make a bit more due to headers and not driving accessories
