Still loving the Metaspeed Sky Paris after two marathons, many workouts, and a few other races. The footstrike sounds they make remind me of that "psssh" sound boxers and fighters make when throwing blows.
@ I mostly race marathons so go with Sky Paris or Alpha 3 and save them mostly for that. Not a fan of VF2 for marathons but they’re great for shorter distances so they’re the short interval shoe.
Great stuff!! Mentioning weight as an advantage & disadvantage is highly relevant for racing shoes alongside how the tech in each shoe interacts, and I only missed the info of the weight itself across the 5 shoes you picked
Brilliant video!! I loved the Cielo and AF3, didn’t get on with the Sky Paris unfortunately and the Nitro Elite 3 went under my radar and now can’t get a hold of them 😢
I've been loving my Metaspeed Sky Paris! Despite having run just about 60 miles, they've brought me lots of PBs in my runs. Never would expect the DNE3 to win, that's a big surprise! Haven't tested them, though.
AlphaFly 3's were the shoe I wore when I crushed my PB by 8 whole minutes! I didn't even think I could run that fast bc I never touched the pace I ran during the race in training in them, but it felt easy in the AF3's during the race.
Agreed on the Puma Deviate Elite - it is really an awesome shoe. I love the NB SC Elite v4 as well but the Puma a litttle better. Also picked up a pair of the Kygo Pros at the NYC Marathon that I am enjoying but its also a 2025 shoe.
Picked up a pair of Metaspeed edge Paris. It’s the go to show for going fast. Distance doesn’t matter speed does. If it’s a hard workout then that what I pick.
The Adios Pro 4 has got to be the most beautiful running shoe ever created yet. It looks so sleek, fast and doesn't have weird midsole sculpture or funky geometry like other supershoes have.
I've loved the nitro elite 3 for my 1 mile and 5k PR attempts. They're a bit firmer than my other racing shoes but very responsive so great for shorter distance. Alphafly 3 has been my go to for half marathon and full marathons. I'd consider trying the nitro elite 3 for my next 13.1
Nice list. For my high volume/slightly wide feet (midfoot strike) I went with TYR Valkyrie Elite and Cielo X1. Sadly Puma did not work for my feet when trying in store.
Good picks, I usually go with vaporfly/alphafly 3s for important speed/race days. But thinking next marathon the Metaspeeds or Saucony Elite 2s when they drop!
Maybe it’s just me, but the fact the AP4’s have been given out to select people but don’t release until January is crazy. Great way to build hype, but man I’m not patient enough for that 😂
I love your reviews, but I find that I rarely agree with your picks. Not to say you’re wrong, but we clearly have different needs. My race day pick was the NB SC Elite. I needed more stability than most racers offer and the more open toe box agreed with my foot. It great to watch your stuff for the perspective of a different runner
The Adios Pro 4 will have some stiff competition in 2025. The Endorphin Elite 2, Cielo X 1 2.0, the CloudBoom Strike LS, the Hyperion Elite 4 PB and Hyperion Elite 5… I thought 2024 was stacked, but 2025 is gonna be huge for high end racers!
Great video! I get that you considered the adios pro 4 to be a 2025 shoe, but if it were competing this year, how high would you score it in the ranking?
Ran my first marathon in Metaspeed sky Paris, although I wish I had sized up half a size. Jury is still out if I am going to lose a toenail or not. Heck of a shoe though
@@camonly849 absolutely true... firstly i doubt that i could run 21km using Edge,,, fortunely Edge never upset me eventhough my time for hm only 2hr 18min... what a great shoe,,,
if you love the VF3 (and more specifically, if you prefer the VF over the AF), I would also suggest trying (if possible) the Edge Paris before making your metaspeed decision
@kofuzi i literally just finished studying the differences between the edge and sky, I agree it seems the edge is more suited for my run style - fast-high cadence... thanks for the suggestion!
I was trying to figure out what version of the metaspeeds I should get and had a hard time with it as well. I've noticed mostly mid or forefoot strikers prefer the sky, and heel to midfoot prefer the edge. I bought the edge paris and they feel amazing. I've tried the vp3s in one full size down from my normal size (trying my friends). I did a very short test run, but it didn't feel like the bounce was near my edge paris's. I felt like the edge had a lot of bounce. The foam had good squish but felt very bouncy at the same time. The plate position was really good. I'm 5'8 180lbs and I am a heel to mid foot striker....if that helps. Good luck!
I have the edge paris and those definitely have squish to them. Feels fantastic under foot. Yes, it's a plated shoe, but I wouldn't say it's really firm or what not.
The foam in the ASICS is only slightly softer than the Adios pro 3s. I find the edge version of these to be very fast. Maybe your feelings are different because you run in the sky version.
your assumption is incorrect. I have both the Edge and Sky Paris. I have about 50 miles in the Edge , I think (Strava would know the exact number). I typically only run in the Edge for short and very fast sessions. The turnover is quick and powerful in that shoe, but the plate position is quite aggressive and fatigues my arches. I couldn't run a marathon in that shoe. And recently, in any situation where I would have reached for the Edge Paris, I have instead been reaching for the Nitro Elite 3. It feels like it is designed for the same type of runner, and I get quick turnover. But it doesn't bother my arches, so I feel like I could race anything from a mile to a marathon in that shoe.
I actually love NB SC Elite V4. Im on my 2nd pair and looking for a 3rd. I'm an average runner, and they are just very comfortable and dependable. I wear them for long runs and races. They never bother my feet, which are unfortunately very sensitive. A lot of shoes make my feet ache.
@@io-rj6sk i never run the new model. The DN2 was really hyped last year and also the DN3 had good reviews. I’m surprised Saucony didn’t make the list. I haven’t tried the Pro 4. I couldn’t make it to any race this year due to an injury . But Endorphin Pro 4 DN Elite 3 and Metaspeed Sky were my top 3 choices.
