  • Michelle Yeoh is a frustrated middle-aged laundromat owner who learns that she may (somehow) be the key figure in a multiversal war in a science-fiction action comedy that's an early contender for one of the best films of 2022

Dang i can't remember the last time Bob gave something a 10/10. Even the stuff he's usually really endorsing gets a 9/10.
Which is why i like him. He doesn't give a 10 to everything he enjoys.

I love his rating scale. 1/10 is 'If you give this project money, you are actively destroying cinema' 3/10 is 'Nah, this is REAL bad. Insulting to everyone involved and just... no. Not a bad person if you like it, but there are much better uses of your time.' 5/10 is basically 'Look, if you were already interested, go see it. I'm not going to judge you.' 7/10 is 'If you're on the fence, go see it, it's worth your time.' 10/10 is 'No, seriously, go see this. Even if you weren't interested, even if you're just now hearing about it. If you can find 3 spare hours in your day, GO'

For the uninitiated, Daniels' other big outing was Swiss Army Man. The movie where Paul Dano finds the meaning of life with the help of Daniel Radcliffe as a farting zombie.
And that, was apparently them operating on easy mode.

Just came out of a prescreening and IT WAS AMAZING. This isn't a modern masterpiece, it is literally a CINEMATIC LANDMARK. I hope A24 works their asses off to campaign and promote this for more people to see, and for award bodies to recognize. Through the entire movie, me and everyone in the theater was laughing their asses off in one scene, and then they hit you with a deeply touching scene that could make you cry. The absolute craftsmanship of this movie is nuts, it might be a little weird but i assure you, if you just let yourself into it, you will be absolutely love this movie

Thanks for... well, telling me the title of this movie. I saw the trailer for it somewhere, probably a TH-cam ad, but it took about 30% of the trailer for me to realize that this movie was really going for "Michelle Yeoh as Jet Li's The One." So yes, I was instantly sold as a thing I absolutely must see, but... I missed the actual *name* of the film.

Because they are the 'worst' they would have more mental 'space' for all that stuff to collect. The 'best' version would already have most of the mental 'space' filled up and wouldn't be able to collect everything.

A weirdly heartwarming story of how if you fail to accept your daughter's sexuality, a nihilistic bagel will obliterate the multiverse.

I'm so angry that I can't find a single showing of this film anywhere in my state. Or even adjacent states. I want to watch this SO BAD and I just...can't.

Defiantly raised the bar on movies. You should do a spoiler edition or in depth. A really that good! too soon

I had been intrigued by this since I saw the review and trailer. Just saw it tonight with my family. We all loved it. Go see it. It’s awesome. God the laughs, the action, the feelings. It’s great. Number one movie by far this year.
Go see it! Don’t sleep on it.

Think I watched too much of your review. You did convince me that I ought to see this film, now I have to see if its playing in my area.

There was nothing wrong with the original edit. One of Michelle's alternate selves was Batman, obviously.

Not gonna lie; I saw the thumbnail for this video and thought it was gonna be a discussion about the Ms Marvel trailer. Instead it's about an odd movie i was unaware of.

Used the wrong graphic. Batman poster was used instead of the actual movie poster.

Just saw it and man it was a great indie movie. They made every penny count and loved the depth both philosophically and emotionally

At 6:22 wait..;. wait.... THAT GUY? I had no clue that's who he grew up into! That's amazing and wonderful. I really want to see this film. This is the first one since the whole shutdown thing that I'm really disappointed isn't available streaming. I'll see what the social director says about going to theaters - if not, then I'll absolutely be in line for this when it's available to view at home.

Update - finally got it at home on streaming and yeah, it's everything Bob said and more. Just a really really good film all around, and if a rock with googly-eyes on it can make you cry, you know the film makers hit all the right notes.

More humor, poignance, action and performance per unit actor than anything mainstream I've seen in theater for years.

Kwon came back into acting after the (mid) movie Crazy Rich Asians. He said he believed that there might be a place for him in Hollywood. Another reason as a Black woman I’ll check out a POC led movie even if it’s mildly interesting. We would have never got WAYMOND !!!
