Just did this on my car today mines a 2021 gt and the pigtail did have enough length to come up under the air tubes without going through the center tube, and the oil and vacuum gauges both work fine, I have the standard gauge cluster not the 401a digital cluster
I fully agree. To have a sports car with no gauges to monitor what your motor is doing was for sure a ball drop. Im an old hot rod kind of guy and Im always looking at my gauges
Unfortunately, there's no way to know that I'm aware of. I didn't know mine had it until I got to that point. Sorry, i can't be more help with your question.
Does the gauges have to come from a premium package car for them to work with the my color function, or as long as you have the premium package the my color will work even if the gauges are from a base model?
They should work either way. I'm not sure 100%. But I know the car i got the gauges out of wasn't a premium, and the my color works in my car. So unless they did something different for certain years, i would say they should work either way.
No, i have not. I've been talking with a fewshops, but none of them are sure how to tap into the system and dont want to mess anything up. So until i found a place that's willing to do it, its just there
@@bluedakota80 is it true you can make the gauge works with HPtuners by switching from switch to transducer? As I read it will work but a low pressure message will appear on the dash! It can be disabled through forscan I believe. I’m just waiting for one of my buddies to come back for a visit as he got the HPtuners and will try it out
Ive heard that some tuners can make it work. But im not sure which ones. I called a couple of companies a while back and asked them. they couldn't give me a yes or no answer. Plus when i got the car the previous owner did a tune and removed it when they traded it in and it screwed up the PCM it took me a year to convince Ford something was wrong with the car. They ended up doing a complete reflash of the PCM to make the car run right. So im a little on the fence about doing any tunes.
@@bluedakota80 gonna keep ya update will do that hptuners configuration plus forscan. Also I have this crazy idea to change my current PCM configuration through forscan and use PP configuration. I have mustang v8 gt ‘15 and i let my mechanic tryed to install it. But the gauge of oil pressure doesn t work. How can i resolve it? Maybe the PIN is not correct? (Which did u select?) or need a tune?
Im in the same boat. After a ton of searching. If the car didn't come with the guages, they didn't come with the three wire sending unit (sensor) that makes it work. To make it work, there are two extra wires that have to be added. But i haven't found anyone who is willing to do it. And i dont want to mess anything up.
Thank you very much for the thorough breakdown. This was a very informative video my man. Saved me a lot of time. 🥰
Thank you sir, saved me so much time and a headache
You're welcome

Nice, it looks like after 17 ford might have started making it to where they can be added. Good to hear it does work for later years.

Sounds like you have a plan marked out. If it works let me know.
Do you know how we can turn on the oil pressure gauge from the sctx4 tune?
Sorry, I don't know. I haven't been able to get mine to work.

@@bluedakota80if you have the plug and your gauges don’t work all you need to do is use Forscan to turn on the feature, it should then send the signal
Ill give that a try. Thank you
Can you share the video or where I can find the video of the guy splicing the wires
Type in ( performance pack gauge installation) you will see a blue 16 mustang. Video done by Keith stilson.
