Man, today was not the Hammerhead pilot’s day. Three head hits, and he conks out of the fight. Great job with the battle report! TH-cam needs more Classic videos.
on first viewing - what? as he kicked him in the right torso? Only later did I realize that the summoner had a height advantage =) great report, thanks for sharing!
Just wanted to say, I really enjoyed this video and I have been watching a lot of your older videos as well. Really hope you keep putting out these battle reports!
This was a really fun episode well done. I am really enjoying you're video's they have a unique style that other Battletech battle reports simply don't have. Not to mention you're actually playing classic battletech which is done far less then Alphastrike these days. Keep up the good work ;)
Guys, that is amazing. Enourmously good. Big thanks for making such content for a BT community! Will share with our own! 🇺🇦 P.S. Background music could be a bit louder, for it is hard to notice one. Also some MW-like soundtrack at pre-battle segment will elevate impression to the sky, mind my word. And good luck growing!
Great report! The Hammerhead had Hardened armor, so it should've been taking half damage from weapons fire. That didn't seem to be the case from the text at the bottom of the screen but maybe you were still playing it right.
Yeah, we played it with hardened armor - that's why it took so many AC/10 shots to take it down. For the weapon fire overlays, it's still taking the same damage, but each armor dot takes two points to get destroyed. I might add a note next time I do a video with special armor though to make that clearer.
@@scottsgameroom1 Oh great! I really like your idea of posting the shots/results like that complete with Target Number. Really helps with understanding how the game went.
Great battle report. After watching this really need to get my hands on some purifiers. I do play WoB but admit I generally play with Djinns and Nephilim. Learned recently the Legacy as long as its AC's remain operational is a monster. was a good thing the C3i was turned off. Hammerhead is a mech I find my self having trouble liking. Its got the armor to hang with mechs much larger than it, but its got the weapons of the average phoenix hawk. You aren't bringing a heavy down unless you get behind it. feels like a mech that wants to punch down and use its armor to attrition something out.
I think the Purifiers did better than normal this battle - scoring multiple headshots is lucky. Last game where Josh used them against me, they were all dead by the end of the turn they deployed. I like the Hammerhead. It is definitely skewed towards durability, especially compared to other Clan designs, but it still has enough firepower that it can’t be ignored. An opponent needs to throw enough firepower at it to take down an assault mech if they want to stop it.
PPCs with the memetic camo does seem very nice if you drop them into a support position though. I've had times where my Coronas devastate assaults and others where it catches an arrow IV and just dies. Think the hammerhead comes down to personal taste. I tend to stay away from heavy armor. Images of a Stalker II flailing around trying to get up come to my head after my Regent just overwhelmed it, and it just stayed on the ground pretty much the rest of the game. Granted with the actuator enhancement and having arms does kind of prevent that.
You might want to try and shoot from sides where an enemy is already weaker. You peppered the knight from all sides but armor is there to be shot. In a one off game like this where you don't care for salvage you should really try to crit out your opponent.
I'm not a fan. Your battle reports misrepresent the game. The shooting phase is complex and as a new player, I have been struggling to find a battle report that goes through an actual shooting sequence without skipping to the results. You're supposed to declare all attacks and targets before anything is resolved. I'd like to see how this plays out so that I know if I am doing it correctly. But every videos like yours either skips to the end of shooting or only shows 1v1 mech battles. It's beginning to feel like everyone is coping to make this game work when the rules are tedious.
Sounds like my videos aren’t what you’re looking for. When playing, we do follow the full sequence with declaration of attacks done in initiative order before resolving the attacks. For the videos though, I’m aiming to offer a condensed viewing experience rather than 3-4 hour long videos.
Also, for getting started with BattleTech, I have some resources at the top of the page here: scottsgameroom.com/battletech/ And in particular, I think this video by Snalespune does a great job going through how to play (link should jump you right to the weapon attack phase part): th-cam.com/video/fv8WQlf2ML4/w-d-xo.html
Josh brought a black knight... never saw that coming
This style is fantastic. Great way to watch a battle in less than 30 minutes!

Your method of documenting battles is the best I have seen. I wish more people used your techniques. Great work.

I really enjoy these videos. keep them coming!
Excellent battle report. Easy to follow and engaging.
It's kinda amazing how that black knight was still standing _and_ fighting at the end! 'Tis but a flesh wound! :D
Awesome job. Love the damage and heat graphs on the side. Helps to keep track of things.

Sea Foxes doing their own fighting?! Did Founder Day come early this year, quiaff?

I really liked how you showed the the die results, huge improvement over some other Battle Reports.
This was an amazing way to present a battle report! Very fun and engaging to watch!

This is an amazing battle report, very clear and concise. Love it!

amazing video!!!
I like the format. Do more please!
Excellent battle!!!😊
This is cool. I just picked up a starter box and this is a great battle report
I love this format!
this bat rep was awesome, inspires me to try to make one like this
More like this!

Is there a link to the scenarios you mentioned, that the MechBay Podcast uses?
The pdf is shared in the Mechbay discord server. I’m not sure if they’re posted anywhere else offhand.
I checked with Josh and the missions are available here too: docs.google.com/document/d/1NwSQVIC3GTZUspS5jZLBDzblcBLa-ckXUJnXSPOnlTM/edit?usp=drivesdk

Did I miss something? There is a Hammerhead, a mech from the Il Clan era, but, in Il Clan, there is no WOB so far.....
This is just an open play game, and we pulled our forces from different eras.
Is it okay if I wish both factions into the dumpster?
Hopefully you can enjoy the battle report even if you’re not a fan of these two factions.
@@scottsgameroom1 I am comforted by the fact that much property damage resulted for each side.

Man watches condensed portrayal of the game, is disappointed that the game is condensed
