BattleTech Dark Age Battle Report: Irece 3142, Clan Nova Cat vs Draconis Combine

- In the late Dark Age, Clan Nova Cat and Katana Tormark, Warlord of Dieron, rebelled against Coordinator Yori Kurita and Kanrei Matsuhari Toranaga. Despite initial successes, they were soon losing ground to the DCMS. In December of 3142, the Dragon arrived on the Clan Nova Cat capital world of Irece.
This BattleTech battle report covers one small part of the Draconis Combine's invasion of Irece.

I loved watching this. From the narrative intro, to the sound effects and camera angles you added, this was such a a good watch. I could feel the violent desperation of the Nova Cat warrior. At least she died with as much honor as possible, taking down five mechs with her. May the Nova Cat spirit live on!
Great battle report. The Spider only just managing to hit the gigantic mech lying on the ground ten feet away from it at the end there made me chuckle
Huge Nova Cat and DCMS fan. This is my most favorite and heart breaking part of the lore. Was rooting for the Trukina the whole time knowing what the likely outcome would be. Great job. Subbed. 👍
I’ve been a fan of the Nova Cats since they joined the Second Star League. This bit of their history is indeed heartbreaking.

I'm guessing the IS mechs all had a 4 as their gunnery skill. I'm not sure what it is, but I've got the worst luck with that as the base. All the misses those IS pilots made was very familiar to me.
Yep, almost all of the Combine MechWarriors had standard 4/5 skills. The Grand Dragon was a 4/4, and the Atlas was a 3/4. On the other side, the Nova Cat Warrior was 3/3.
I love the way you blend in the narrative. Battletech works best this way I feel.

Exactly the format I was looking for. As a Battletech Player myself, I was searching for something juicy to spice up things in between, when I have moments of lazyness or when I'm just tired from the day. This was/is perfect like you presented it. Keep it up. I'll come back, looking for more :)

Thanks! The Nova Cat Alpha Galaxy scheme is one of my favorites, and the Turkina’s big, flat torso made it a great design to really have fun with the stars.

When the Katana and Atlas came into the battle, I'd thrown my Dice if I was the Turkina player, and said:"Fuggin' C'MON!!!!" lol but kicking a downed MW by the Katana? a Kurita Pilot!,....thats Just Dishonorable! Shameful for the Kuritans. ANY Mechwarriour! Don't get me wrong, this was a Cool Video! I enjoyed watching it after a Bad-damned Day!

Dear god this lone Turkina almost destroyed 2 lances by himself.
The Turkina B is a great design. She got lucky with the early head shot against the Dragon too.
God damn. That clanner was destroying everyone. I chuckled though, that atlas did _not_ want to get close to that clan mech

I looove the Spider-9M. It is a serious problem if it gets close. It has ripped a good few mechs a new exhaust port for me in some tourny matches! Medium VSPs on a fast jumper are so nasty.
Yeah, the 9M is great. Medium VSPs are vicious.
@@scottsgameroom1 It is really the combo of insane mobility and ridiculous short-range punch that makes them nasty. The spider is so fast that it can usually get behind you, and minimize the chances of it getting crunched.
What is the BV of each side? Is the clan mech really superior to 8 is mechs, even with dark age tech on them? What is this thing made of?
This fight was not intended to be fair. The DCMS hit Irece with overwhelming force to ensure victory. The BV of the Turkina is roughly equal to the initial lance (both ~5000 BV), and each wave of reinforcements then skews things more in the Combine’s favor.
Turkinas are NASTY assault mechs, packing good armor and weaponry. I didn't know that many had made it out of Clan Jade Falcon, though. I have a single one in my supernova trinary that is going in to a campaign that I am starting soon. Total of 2 assaults, 4 heavies, 3 mediums, and 6 lights.
Clan Smoke Jaguar claimed a decent number of Turkinas from Clan Jade Falcon, and then Clan Nova Cat got most of those when the Smoke Jaguars were defeated. The Homeworld Clans also ended up with them.
BV i am sort at odds with BV in my games only cause i have seen a stone rhino attack and defeat a full innersphere company of 12 mechs the only thing is those 12 where from 3025 vs 1 from 3055 and all 12 where on the board at once it was a very fun and unnerving 3 hour game but the rhino came out on top you would never get to play a game like that if using BV
Yeah, balanced BV is good to use for pick-up games, buts it’s fun to play the occasional lopsided scenario too.
really cool and good commentary dragon head shot round one i hate it when that happens almost lost a player cause it happened to her twice in a row game begins game ends round one hahaha sucks but hey it happens

The DCMS was truly ruthless during the war and sought to completely destroy Clan Nova Cat. Only the Spirit Cats and Kisho’s lost band remain to carry on their culture.
