    Well done CSJ has raised some very relevant questions which nobody in Parluament has raised or answered. Now when Lee Hsien Yang raises some doubt about the 2 Ministers sincerity, he is now threatened with legal suits. Is this 2 Ministers so arrogant now that they can even threaten other Singaporeans who have raised further doubts about there sincerity in the whole matter ?
    Is PAP becoming a CCP type government when it comes to silencing its critics ?

    • @deepone5005
      @deepone5005 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, CCP is different la. Get yr head straightened out. Firstly, it isnt the US bogey man CCP, it is CPC la. Read up pls. 2ndly they have put back the UK Opium forced-fed Chinese Civilisation back on its glorious path since 5000 yrs ago, incl yr ah kong, lau cho kong and yourself - got it? PAP is different , an entitled bunch of power crazy & greedy " natural aristocrats" as they had called themselves who had inherited the good LKY gvt.

    • @chonghaupang1023
      @chonghaupang1023 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@firefly4326The relevant points are:
      1. When the government did not allow multi-generational living but they do otherwise…no moral leadership
      2. When the minister asked his secretary to pass him the SLA list for personal reasons…no professionalism
      3. When the ministers’ wives (not the ministers) who commit to the rental contracts which (may intentionally or unintentionally)no shown their names…no transparency.
      If they did not do anything wrong, why not just put their name on the dotted line and be transparent?

    Opposition parties are also citizens. They and their families, children also have a stake in Singapore. Yet so many of them hv been sued, expelled, charged under this and that. This National Day, we want to give a special appreciation to thank all the opposition parties, for their courage, for boldly speaking out, for raising questions and providing alternative views.

    • @scbchong6964
      @scbchong6964 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Providing "alternative views" is not the same as delivering better outcomes. Views are just opinions and talk rhetoric. Only PAP politicians risk their reputation and incomes to deliver better for majority of singaporeans, not the Oppositions with their self-interest and personal revenge agenda.

    • @safeworld-168yjk
      @safeworld-168yjk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@scbchong6964 Hi, I used to be a pap supporter, but after watching parliamentary debates in the last couple of years, I began to sympathise with the opposition party MPs, and really appreciate them for their courage and for risking everything.
      More than ever, I began to understand why we must not give the gov a blank cheque, because indeed they hv made mistakes that affected us, our children and our nation, eg raising GST during worsening inflation, and causing food, and services to become so expensive. So we really need the opposition parties to check and ask questions, just like we need to check the parachute before jumping off the helicopter.
      I also hope both sides can devote more energy on important matters of the country, but fierce attacks on the opposition (eg Committee of Privileges and police investigations on Raeesah Khan case) will naturally invite fierce counterattacks, not only from the opposition parties, but also from commoners who began to sympathise with the latter.
      And about ‘delivering better outcomes’, you can understand that only the gov can do the actual executing, implementing and delivering, because the opposition has no access 🚫 to the machinery of the Civil Service, and so, they can only speak up about their alternative views, and we have seen that they did propose many workable ideas.

    • @danielc2701
      @danielc2701 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've to point out one thing. When Chee's old boss, Chiam was around, he was the one suing the PAP. So how is it now that when Chee is in charge, it's now the PAP suing him? Every time Chee makes one of his stupid mistakes, I really wonder if he is a PAP spy sent in to damage the opposition because I can't possibly imagine how you can sabo your own team so badly accidentally.

    • @scbchong6964
      @scbchong6964 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielc2701 The opposition politicians hate the PAP for sure, but do they care and love Singapore and all singaporeans? Two separate issues, hor.
      Opposition bears a grudge and vengeful against PAP, but can they deliver better? Or is it just personal agenda? Just because they are Opposition, they don't spew propaganda, lies, rhetoric and BS?
      Opposition politicians behave holier-than-thou with too much self-interest, self-importance and fat ego. Just because someone blame loudly does not mean that person is an angel or a saint.
      If you have worked long enough, you will know that those who complain and blame others the most, actually contribute the least and have bad attitude.

      Also massive change is usually preceded by massive pain. Singaporeans by and large are born into comfort. The last generation in Singapore that truly suffered and had fight in them are also sadly now a rapidly thinning herd, as they die off…Every generation after that was born into spectacular progress and comfort (some luxury). In general our struggles are mostly what you would call 1st world problems. The “pain” we go through is not enough for us to effect change and to do whatever it takes to make ourselves heard. Those that govern us know this and so adjust their will on us while subjugating our voice just within the threshold of our collective tolerance.

      We have never "given away" anything. I'm not afraid to speak up, if you are, it's not the PAP gagging you, it's you gagging yourself. And it goes both ways. It's quite intriguing to witness a politician who has encountered multiple legal convictions touting the concept of moral leadership. Yet, this paradoxical stance has inspired me to shape my own interpretation of moral leadership:
    1. Moral leadership invites self-reflection. It encourages examining reasons why the party carrying a moral compass had never been voted into Parliament for decades ever since the shifts in leadership.
    2. True moral leadership requires a steadfast commitment to upholding the law, even in the face of political agendas. It's about prioritizing the collective good over personal gain and setting an example of integrity.
    3. Authentic moral leadership is rooted in transparency and honesty, refraining from the temptation to spread misinformation or falsehoods for the sake of political mileage. It's an embodiment of ethical principles, even within the realm of free expression.
    4. Genuine moral leadership understands that freedom of expression is accompanied by responsibilities. Balancing the right to speak with the need to protect the rights of others, national security, and public order is an essential aspect of this leadership.
    5. At its core, moral leadership champions equal opportunities for all and freedom of choice in housing with distinctive lifestyle regardless of their social or economic status. It champions the right to aspire and achieve within the boundaries of the law, fostering a society where freedom is embraced responsibly.

      Because he really blew his chances and gave many of the older generation a bad impression. For one, he backstabbed his mentor, Chiam, whom many people respect, then he flew over to the UK and asked the British to support him, then he did a lot of grandstanding and slander and got sued by the PAP when it used to be the Opposition suing the PAP. It's really so bad that sometimes I wonder if he is really a PAP plant out to damage the Opposition.
      When Chiam was the head of the SDP, it was the SDP suing the PAP. Now with Chee, it's the PAP suing the SDP and you wonder why we think he's a clown? Then he goes overseas and lies to their media that he is the head of the Opposition when it is the WP and get them to support him. You see how much of his support base is foreign? I really appreciate your work in making sure the ruling party does not go unchecked. But you really gotta step up your game beyond this petty and small-minded rhetoric. There is truth that our MP and ministers are arrogant and entitled. • @danielyapesque
    @danielyapesque ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have nothing but respect for Dr Chee’s endurance in his long race, but I cannot agree with his argument in principle for a simple reason: every Singaporean he appeals to with “they are so entitled” logic would probably do the same things with their means, had they the same means. That stems from a deep cultural agreement most Singaporeans have made with each other-more money, more house loh. The two ministers are overt targets because of the scale and publicity of the assets in question, but our culture as a whole endorses and esteems this exact sort of decision/attainment.
