Every one is praising this average game because they never played any other RPG that wasn't Fallout 3 or NV.
The whole reviews can be summed up to "better than FO76. 10/10." Game is a 6/10 at best.
I would love if Fallout New Vegas was remastered with this engine

I would love that too but I don’t think Bethesda would let them. I think they should stick to this outer worlds universe and just expand on the already existing story with many more quests, open spaces, and dialogue trees. You have to admit, this game had a very ‘fallout-like’ feel to it.
Or maybe just a NEW Fallout game when the PS5 comes out?

I love this game. It's like playing a game based on Firefly. I really felt like a Space Cowboy captain of Firefly, because the crew and the world feels very similar to the Firefly crew. I love this game. Thank you Obsidian

The Outer Worlds > Starfield
Doesn’t take much to beat starfield.
I played outer worlds, it was great. Starfield however. I couldn't be bothered to continue after 1 hour
All you have to do is rise above mediocrity to be better than Starfield
I’m recently back into starfield with more updates. Do enjoy a lot of it, massive amount of content, but I do look forward to OW2 more than a continuation of this universe
Starfield with mods is pretty good. If I had to explain it in Angry Joe terms: it goes from a 6 to an 8. Maybe Bethesda can make it an even better experience as time goes by (I'm tired of seeing this happening with Bethesda games tho).
The Outer Worlds doesn't need any mods to be good. They are always welcome, but you don't feel like the game needs them. You do feel that with Starfield.

When i first started playing the game i had the exact thought that the weapons and armor were lacking but i gave it some thought and realized that the corporations own everything including the weapons and armor, and companies will always try to sell you the same thing but slightly better
The fact that Obsidian watched a lot of people's streams and actively engaged with people gives me hope for the future ~

Honestly the game was a little disappointing for me. Obsidian played it too safe, imo. It missed those amazing "WTF" moments that New Vegas had.
This was a bit of a test. With it's success, we'll most likely see a sequel that is more unique
That's the point, it's their first time making something like this completely on they're own, they have the foundation now. All the heavy innovation is for the sequel where they can build upon said foundation. New vegas was amazing but it was also buggy as hell and could have been a lot better if they had more time.
Yeah New Vegas was definitely bigger but it's also a bug filled mess. I remember it took me a whole day just to get it running properly. I think Obsidian are deliberately scaling down this game to more manageable level. Considering most of Obsidian past games tends to be very ambitious but unstable I think they're trying to step away from that.

I’m happy this game turned out to be a success and I’m looking forward to the sequel in a few years that touches the AAA space. This felt better than many AAA games that came out this year! My ultimate hope is to see more original animations and more weapon/armor variety. I actually liked the map of this much better than New Vegas!
I loved this game. I understand when some people say it felt just a little bland but that's fine. This was obsidian first solo attempt so they played it safe and it paid off. They can save all the heavy innovation for the sequel.
@@jamisong.9653 Considering what happened when they try to go big like with New Vegas it's probably for the best. A lot of Obsidian's games tends to be ambitious but really broken on release. I'd say this is a step in the right direction for them
@@KhiemNguyen-ly1wz yeah, many people compare New Vegas, a AAA game part of a Huge Franchise to Outer Worlds, a independent AA Game that is completely in Obsidian's hands that starts out on its own. If they tried to make it as deep as New Vegas, it would have been in the same boat as 76. Imagine trying to make a unique awesome universe from STRACTH when it's your first shot by YOURSELF! I believe it's a great fondation and starting point to Obsidian's future.

Obsidian has always had the pieces, look at new Vegas.
But they just need more for it to stick together and stand strong among the others, so that people will actually notice more.

That intro killing. That was BRUTAL! It is what it is lol. I have Outer Worlds on Switch. Although it suffers from texture limitations (like less trees and smoothing of environments), I WILL say it is by far my favorite Switch game.
I remember running into 1 bug when I played. I was in a big firefight with fire everywhere, and there was a moment where i found I was taking fire damage and it would not go out. Just a reloaded the game real quick, and it was all good.

I thought I was hearing things. I didn't imagine that then. Maybe 7.5 then as its in-between. Personally I'll give it 8/10 but definitely worth £1 I paid for it with Xbox game pass.

Outer Worlds was one of my favorite games of 2019. It was actually a game. Not a buggy, semi-finished rush job stuffed with microtransactions. No excessive greed. No bullshit. A *game* .
Now, that doesn't mean it's without flaws:
I love the game, but lack of replayability is a serious strike against it. Being able to come at these games in different ways and having things to do outside the main quest is important, and TOW just doesn't offer much of that. Breath of the Wild suffered from this problem as well: They make for fantastic initial playthroughs, but offer little after that.
I'm comfortable giving this game a solid 7/10: Pretty good, but there's definitely room for improvement. If it gets some decent DLC expansions in the same vein as Dragonborn or Far Harbor, I could see it jumping up to an 8/10. Otherwise, I see TOW being a good starting point for a new franchise, a place even better games can grow from and achieve greater things.
I will say that it's refreshing to play a Fallout-like game without constant bugs and crashes; FO4 has been exceedingly unstable as of late.
There's solid potential here, Obsidian just needs to take more chances.
i hope in the next one we get vehicles :3 would love to fly a space ship in this beautiful game world/galaxy that obsidian created. Dont need anything crazy like no mans sky or elite dangerous.

The game istn bug free and not thst optimized, textures takes 3 seconds to load, stuttering when losing new scenarios and in rare ocasions during combat, random crashes, sometimes even every 5-15 minutes and in certain areas, of course the game is really good, and quests are interesting.

@Ivory Birchman Nah, Skyrim was when their decline started getting much worse. Fallout 4 and 76 are terrible games but Bethesda been lazy, selfish, and incompetent for years.

I really like parvatti, she just had a charm to her and got under my skin. Other followers were okay, but she was the one I took consistently on missions. I enjoyed her story and helping her find herself, yea if a game can invest me in my companions then it's going in the right direction for me.

You know I’d really like to see an Angry Joe movie someday where Joe, OJ, Alex, Delrith and Lisa Foiles team up GI Joe-style to take on Corporate Commander, Demon Joe, and Billy Mays all working under the mysterious Overlord who only ever appeared in one video. Could be pretty awesome

are you guys stupid? this game plays nothing like obsidians fallout 1 and 2. bethesda made fallout a FPS RPG and obsidian got the license to make new vegas in the style of 3 and then they realized that bethesda’s game design was better and made outerworlds play like a bethesda fallout experience.

Yea when they said "Bethesda's Fallout" I just wanted to click off the video.
They might have meant the modern take on Fallout, like as an FPS/OTS RPG. The Fallout games obsidian were involved with making were mostly top down turn based games, nothing like the Outer Worlds' gameplay. The first Fallout to do this style was Fallout 3, which was made by Bethesda (Also at the time a lot of the fans of the original games thought it was heresy to turn Fallout into an FPS and hated on bethesda for that so... yeah).
TLDR: He might mean the gameplay style, not the franchise in general.
@@TheMDbauS It is a ripoff of Fallout and the statement is correct. Todd Howard at Bethesda ran the development of Fallout 3 which was the gameplay and engine basis for Obsidian's Fallout: New Vegas. I know that Bethesda has turned into a shit tier company, but there's no reason to pretend that Obsidian created Fallout, even the modern iteration of Fallout. It's factually not true.

Sort of? I mean, Interplay and Black Isle created the IP, but Bethesda Fallout is quite a different beast to the original Fallout. Particularly in terms of gameplay, where new VATS and old VATS are barely related.

Obsidian sucks even more. Outer Worlds is a game for dumb neo-Marxists. The dialogue was fucking cringe. I mean every single NPC communicates like their in a modern 16-century play. Both choices could have been made realistic like fallout new vegas but no the board was forced to be annoyingly lame and evil. While the old independent Wamen were using less common words no one uses like instead of scared using the word "qualms" or elswise? like why? "there's marauders here about" "gall on that rungleech" "dangers aplenty" "a little ways east" I mean it's fine to use sometimes but 100% of the conversations are written that way.
