      Hello! Thank you for mentioning Ann Normandy Design PDF sewing patterns in your comment section. It's an honor to be included with some very talented indie designers! 2024 is the year that I will be extending my sizes to include sizes XL - 6X. Bust 46" - 66.5"; Waist 40" - 60""; Hips 47.5" - 67.5". Stay tuned! Thank you again! - Kim

    That's a great idea for a video series. I discovered Indie companies during 2020 when we could not buy printed patterns in Canada. I have sewn many garments from 5outof4 and she is one of my favourites. Her designs are well drafted, the instructions are excellent and many of her patterns have multiple options. I have sewn the Nancy Raglan dress and top multiple times and I think it would suit you too. Thanks sew much for another excellent video.

    Lindsay from Inside The Hem has done several in depth videos featuring one Indie pattern company per episode and there’s some real gems that I hadn’t heard of before.
    Also, Steph Sewn is doing a similar series on her channel going by country, she’s done France, Norway and Denmark and I’ve been enjoying those so A to Z is also a great idea that I’m excited about.
    Lisa from And Sew On has done some great features on some further afield ones too in her free pattern videos, sew many resources like these are win win for these designers who work so hard behind the seams and us and I can’t wait to see the other goodies you’ve found, thank you!

    This is great Michelle. I always enjoy hearing about different Indie pattern companies. My favorite of the ones you mentioned is Atelier Jupe. I have sewn several of their patterns. That's what is on my sewing table right now.
    There is a pattern company you missed. The fabric company Atelier Brunette also has sewing patterns. I have never tried one of their patterns but recently saw someone else feature one in a video.
    Have fun with this series, and have a great day. ❤😊

    Hi Michelle, Alina Design Co has layers for their PDF.
    I can also say that the Patti Pocket Skirt is different from the Peppermint Pocket Skirt because it has a fitted waist with an invisible side zipper. The Patti also has significantly wider pockets that go into beautiful massive pleats. I love both skirts but Patti is more involved/polished.
    A pattern company that you missed is Alissah Threads. I love the Valdivia Sweater. 31-52" bust, 25-46" waist, 36-55" hip.
    This was a fun roundup. I'll be following along!

    Hi Michelle! I think I've made all the versions of the Chi-town Chinos from Alina Design (pants, shorts, skirt). Lot's of RTW details and the instrux are great! Although it looks like you can still get the patterns, I think it's possible nothing new since the mid-teens (but still among my favorites) I'm not sure layers were a thing yet. I've got the Panama pattern, and the Hampton has been ❤'d. I don't use the layers feature, but I see it most in the 'printing instructions' part of the files. I agree, that would be a good promotion point. I like the Assembly Line patterns I've made and am just finishing up my first Avid Seamstress Blouse! This will be a really fun series!!

    Tons of useful info, Michelle! Thank you. I would find it helpful to know what sewing cup size and height the company designs for, and if they offer multiple cup sizes. That said, I could go look that up myself with the resources you have given me….

      @MichelleSewsAgain  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I can see how that information would be helpful. I was actually planning on including the cup size and height that the patterns are drafted for but many of these smaller companies don't mention that. I'm glad you found it useful otherwise though!

    • @MichelleSewsAgain
      @MichelleSewsAgain  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Layering means you can print only the one or two sizes that you want rather than having to figure out which "line" is for your size.
