Hello from Brampton. All I can say is WOW, you are a real trooper. That was a trek, I agree with the "no music out here" unwritten rule. Great video, you inspired me to gather my gear and enjoy some longer hikes this summer. Thanks for sharing.

Did that trail in 2022 as well but was with a group of cadets. We found a 12 man tent about 5km into the bush and because one of us touched it, our officer made us hike it out lol. Heavy poles but very worth it to clean up the trail. Good work!

Thanks for video! I'm going to hike the loop around Maggie, Minnow, Eu Lake this year and wanted an idea of the terrain. I think I'll plan two nights instead of one. :) Great video!

Congrats on your first solo trip!!! If you want to do a trail that will leave you breathless with the terrain and the stunning scenery then check out the La Cloche Silhouette Trail in Killarney. It's harder than the Western Uplands but you spend less time in the "green tunnel" and get more stunning vistas. You can check out my May 2022 adventure around the loop on my channel for more information. It's titled "Solo on the Silhouette". I'd recommend a minimum of 5 nights but I find 7 nights allows more time to enjoy the campsites. PS...I agree with your no music stance!

@@shannysteele You won't regret it. Just factor in manageable distances and take as many nights/days as you can. I'm heading back for my third solo loop the first week in May 2023.

Re the "orange algae" you noticed in the creek - not sure if you got around to looking it up, but it's actually likely to be iron staining. This is an indication of groundwater inputs to the creek, because groundwater picks up iron from the rock and then when the water discharges to a creek the iron oxidizes due to atmospheric oxygen (which is absent/limited underground) or due to bacteria. When it oxidizes it forms a precipitate with that characteristic rusty orange colour. It could also be an algae but I'm not too sure.

Awesome you went on your first solo! Great video, I totally agree - NO MUSIC IN THE PARK!! General loud boisterous behaviour and yelling is unwelcome as well. We were on a peaceful morning paddle through Ragged Lake on our way out of the park a couple of weeks ago, and went by a group at a site just blasting music. Every site we saw was occupied, so they must have been disturbing a huge number of people. So selfish.
