Hi everyone! Here's a quick trip we took in to Louisa this Spring. We catch a couple of lakers and experience a little bit of wind, but thankfully nothing like the rest of the province had to go through. Thanks for watching!

Solo Canoe Trip in Algonquin Park... Interrupted?
มุมมอง 12K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Reuploaded cause it was missing parts! I take a solo canoe trip in to Booth Lake in Algonquin Park... or so I thought? Rain storms follow me on the first day. And check out the cute cedar strip canoe that I rented! Thanks for watching everyone!

มุมมอง 14K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi Friends! Here is some footage from my first solo backpacking trip in Algonquin Park on the Western Uplands trail. I did an overnighter to Maggie Lake West and back. In total, I hiked about 32km in the two days. I'd love to hear your recommendations for loops and hiking trips for the future! Be sure to checkout my Instagram for more photos from my trips! shannysteele

Welcome to Louisa Algonquin Park Canoe Loop | Thunderstorms + Lake Trout for Lunch
มุมมอง 22K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Highlights from our August canoe trip in Algonquin Park. We decided to give ourselves a break and have a relaxing trip for this one. Our route was Access Point 9 - Rock Lake to Welcome Lake (2 nights) to Rence Lake(1 night) to Louisa (2 nights) and back home through Rock Lake Access Point. Part of the reason for this was availability of camp sites. The backcountry was very booked when we decide...
Timelapse of Algonquin Night Sky

Trying out a time lapse for the first time of the night sky in my recent canoe trip to Algonquin Park. This was taken on Rence Lake. Can you see the shooting stars? And an object flying through the sky at the very end!

Send me your tips for Algonquin trout! This is just a video for fun to show you some highlights of how we camp!

Fly-In Fishing Trip Highlights in Northern Ontario
Thanks for sharing, this is really fun to watch. The energy and excitement you’ve captured are truly contagious and inspiring 🥰
@6:40: I've seen a moose every time I've been to Algonquin Park
Any idea what site this was?
Did that trail in 2022 as well but was with a group of cadets. We found a 12 man tent about 5km into the bush and because one of us touched it, our officer made us hike it out lol. Heavy poles but very worth it to clean up the trail. Good work!
Holy cow is that a beautiful boat...

Awesome video instant subscriber here
Did you give up on you tube?
Sweet canoe gal, love those reeses chips! Theyr the best fishing snack. Ever went to north frontenac?
Hii where did you get your bug zone from? 😊
Would have been a nice video except for your foul mouth. 👎
Great video
Looks like a great trip!
Wow, just found this video!! Love it that you’re a hammock camper too!!
Going to hike that trail some day thanks for showing me the way.
Awesome video, Shannon!! I've never done the backcountry solo. You're more ambitious than I lol What's the name of your little camp stove? I'd like to move away from fuel. Thanks!!
This is a wonderful experience So glad you shared this! Thank you My family and I particularly are starting to get into some canoeing and I love learning exploring and safety. Any tips or channels you recommend are appreciated. 😊
Love the video makes me feel like I'm back up there, btw yessss I agree no damn music. We go to nature to escape the loud music and relax in silence.
Thanks for video! I'm going to hike the loop around Maggie, Minnow, Eu Lake this year and wanted an idea of the terrain. I think I'll plan two nights instead of one. :) Great video!
When you trip with a barrel like that, do you still tree the food overnight, or do you just leave it in a latched barrel? Is that sufficient?
pretty trail
just leting you know next time dont put your cam on fast forward as i got very dizzy and could not watch all your vid as i felt sick from your cam
Hello from Brampton. All I can say is WOW, you are a real trooper. That was a trek, I agree with the "no music out here" unwritten rule. Great video, you inspired me to gather my gear and enjoy some longer hikes this summer. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I hope you get out there and enjoy some great trails soon!
im doing this in the spring for the first time. if I came across someone as cute as you. i'd be like....this is the best backpacking trip ever lol
Well that’s one way to make solo female backpackers feel unsafe
creepy
@jennamarie2353 creepy?? You ladies need to grow a pair. If you're this paranoid, theres meds for that or just dont pertend to be backpackers when you're still afraid of the boogie man, lol 😁
@charlottesmith7363 hey it's time to put your big girl pants on and stop acting like a victim. Algonquin is a public park and if you're to chicken shit bring a man.
Hi Shannon, great video. Can you tell me what the soundtrack is for your go pro action with the storm at around 5:55 into the video?
Hey, thank you! It’s a royalty free song that I picked out from bensound.com. I believe it’s called Acoustic Breeze!
Is that Brandy as well ?! Nice job!👍👍 do you do much canoe tripping on Temagami?
It was Jameson whiskey 😉thanks for watching!
Can I ask which outpost you stayed at? Looking at their options now on the Twin Lakes website. Thanks!
We stayed at Esser Lake. Great spot for exploring and the cabin was nice. We are heading back to the same spot this summer!
@shannysteele Thank you. I'm looking at trying my first fly in trip either this summer or next!
Thanks! Nice trout.... And over the fire is so yummy..... Creek section was very scenic... Thanks again
Counting the days to head back in the park!! Thanks for sharing your adventures :)
Congrats on your first solo trip!!! If you want to do a trail that will leave you breathless with the terrain and the stunning scenery then check out the La Cloche Silhouette Trail in Killarney. It's harder than the Western Uplands but you spend less time in the "green tunnel" and get more stunning vistas. You can check out my May 2022 adventure around the loop on my channel for more information. It's titled "Solo on the Silhouette". I'd recommend a minimum of 5 nights but I find 7 nights allows more time to enjoy the campsites. PS...I agree with your no music stance!
Thanks! I’ve been debating trying La Cloche! It looks like a good challenge! I’ll check out your video. It will help make the decision!
@@shannysteele You won't regret it. Just factor in manageable distances and take as many nights/days as you can. I'm heading back for my third solo loop the first week in May 2023.
What a picturesque location for a paddle and camp! You two are a hoot and your meals look delicious 😋. Thank you for sharing an awesome adventure Shannon & Adam! Oh and congratulations on your catch n release Shannon!
Thanks so much! ❤
NOOOO Music 100%
Awesome video guys, thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Thanks Jeff!
Good little rip! I'm surprised you don't like pike, it's one of the few fish I prefer. Great video it's been a while since I've been to bon echo!
I’ve had pike once recently and it was okay with LOTS of butter lol we have another trip to Algonquin coming up next week! Very excited to get outside!
@@shannysteele Trout season is over . Think bass and pickeral are still open. Pike is of little interest to me.
@@shannysteele can't wait to see it! We head back into algonquin in 2 weeks ourselves! Hoping for a walleye!
@@knoxonwoods5636 Where will you be?
@@alexs3447 I am going to be on the Petawawa River
Was in Bon Echo many moons ago on Kishkebus I think . I like Algonquin more even if the drive is longer and the trip in longer . Even if its for bass. And yes I can get speckles even in August. But a trip is a trip.
I haven’t done that route yet but hear it’s really nice!
@@shannysteele You mean through Kishkebus?
Shannon the jackets you two are wearing look real nice and warm. Are they they the same jacket? What is the name of the jacket and manufacturer?
Fillet table in bear country......
Miss your videos Shannon! Nice to see you guys enjoying the great outdoors!
Thanks James! We haven’t been out much this season but have a Fall canoe trip coming up!
@@shannysteele Looking forward to it!- oh and your laugh is infectious! ;-D
Ice fishermen must have cleaned out the lake. That's the problem with crown lakes. Then again wind is the worst for fishing.
That’s a good point! It’s a generally easily accessible lake. Would have to use a snow mobile to get to it in winter.
@@shannysteele When I have fished a crown land lake with my fishing buddy we scan the shoreline for fire pits used in the winter . When we see one we leave the lake , no sense trying to fish . Best to try Algonquin. Fees are pricey but you might catch something
That's a great trek to the beautiful lake! Do you have protection with you in the event of any type of predatorial wildlife?
Not yet! Come across a few bears but they are more afraid of us than we are of them!
Thanks. Great video.
Nice! Algonquin looks a lot like Quetico. I've done day trips into that park, I live just outside of it.
I think 🤔 no music
Looks like the bugs were awful 😬
Nothing like starting the season off with a 3K portage and congrats on your first trout....
Построил себе каноэ из фанеры. На днях испытывал - прекрасная лодка.. Сделал для недельных походов по реке. 👍🛶
Gorgeous
Congratulations on your trout 👍 Enjoyed this
Thank you!
Welcome to the trout club of Algonquin Shannon. An elite group .
Glad to be a part of the club!
Looks beautiful! I'm glad yall didn't get as crazy wind up there while you were on your trip!
We were very fortunate!
