This is one of the best tutorials i have seen! Explained thought process as pruning/wiring. So detailed and going through several options what to do and what not. Excellent!
I think you are making those videos in an amazing way. Talking the viewer through the procedure. And explaining in a very easy to understand manner. I am a fan. You teach in an amazing way. I learned a lot.👍👍👍
Probably the best bonsai tutorials on you tube…hate when bonsai designers wire without saying a word about what they are doing, and why they are doing it..
I concur with some of the comments, your style of teaching is easy to understand and what you are trying to achieve from the tree, thank you very much and keep doing the video’s 👍
Nice, timely video. I have a BP grown from seed, must be 30 yrs plus now, that got away from me a few years ago when I was working away from home. Slowly taming it back to a Bonsai. So lots of good info in this one, thanks Corin.
great video, ive got a pine i'm really struggling with, this has been ace , thanks ... ( the way you put the 1st bit of wire on and didnt even have to cut any off??!!! superb, )
Came together in the end, didn't it. Preferred that first pot but I understand you need to match the carpet with the drapes ;) She's got a ripe future!
Hi great video. Why do you wire multiple branches with 1 wire as opposed to using a smaller bit for each one? I understand the need to anchor the wire but just wondering if there’s any reason to specifically do multiple branches other than that?
Hello Corin. Nice design JBP. Just a Thought the large Oval drum Pot is my take. I thought Black Pines are more of a Man Tree and need a Strong Pot ? Corin would this JBP go to the Nursery to recover?Corin could you have Air Layer the Top Have?
Such another fantastic tutorial, it’s great to watch you work and explain everything as you go through the demonstration, keep up the brilliant work well done 😜
Another fantastic job! You make it look so easy. I am in the US and would like to know the value of your trees, could you please tell us your price when you have finished it if it is one that is for sale.
I am having doubts right now watching the video, which by the way the final result looks very good...☺ But... my question is: You can do both... transplant with root pruning and wire to black pines. ? without harming them due to stress, I say. Some recommend not touching the foliage if a transplant was done... at least until it recovers, but looking at this tutorial I see that it doesn't affect them at all to do everything at once...?🤔
I get that artists are reluctant to explain or analyze their art. But... "This branch wants to move over here." C'mon mate... it's an instructional video, is it not? Why are you making the choices you are making?
I'm not at all reluctant to explain, if I was why would I do these videos. As I move the branch you can see it fit in with the overall design, as the tree takes shape. This was a quick demo, you might find some of our other videos have more detail, to give you a better understanding of how I work.
Such a great program today
The tree’s doing what it likes…the cheeky bugger….
It wasn't being sensible.
I really enjoy Corin's demonstration videos. It has rekindled my enthusiasm in the hobby that I have had for 40 or so years. Thankyou.
Best video I've watched on pine bonsai

Thank you You stopped and explained in detail the pruning and wiring. I will be applying more to my trees with confidence. Much appreciated 👍

I want to hug this man.

Nice work. I couldn’t understand why you chose that aspect for the front but you really pulled it together at the end.

Nice job as always. I often struggle when positioning the apex so useful information.
Very compliments for your interesting video, you explain as you work and this is very important! Beautiful pine and good job, thank you very much!🙏🙏👍👍👍
Another great video. Thanks a lot!
Nice transformation!!
I really like watching the wiring process and placement. Great information as you go 👍
Lovely work as always. Lots learnt by this beginner.
Good job 👍👍
Corin, "the position of the dimples on the pot would annoy me" but the straight left branch @38:38 sticks out on such a curvy tree! Great result.
Nice!
great video, ive got a pine i'm really struggling with, this has been ace , thanks ... ( the way you put the 1st bit of wire on and didnt even have to cut any off??!!! superb, )
Brilliant as usual.
Beautiful what did it sell for, love to own one like that
Very nice . As usual.😻
Came together in the end, didn't it. Preferred that first pot but I understand you need to match the carpet with the drapes ;) She's got a ripe future!

I have a black pine and was needing to know what time of the year can I pull the needles and do some wiring
Great!!!
If I wanted to purchase a tree similar to this size black pine what would the price range be?
I am having doubts right now watching the video, which by the way the final result looks very good...☺ But... my question is: You can do both... transplant with root pruning and wire to black pines. ? without harming them due to stress, I say. Yes this was all done at once. Tree was and is still 100%.
Nice video, did you do this repot in November?
4:37 ;-)
I love your videos. May I ask what you potted the bonsai in?
one part akadama, one part Kiryu Zuna, and one part Kyodama
The biggest drumpot looks the best to me but I understand that that one is a bit to pricey for the tree in its current state.
I loved that pot, until he mentioned the price 😅
Please give us some more update about this pine bonsai.
How long will the wires be on the tree or when will they be removed?
When you d candle a Japanese black pine do use cupcakes to cover the wound or do you leave it
yeah. either cut paste or cupcakes work fine !!
What was that soil mix again?
I preferred the first oval vase, however the final result is acceptable.
I preferred the flared oval.
Did it survive ? Naka said no wiring and repotting at the same time
Yes, of course it survived, over a year now, doing great !
Where did you get you pots
They were ones we had for sale at Greenwood Bonsai at the time of filming.
i like your front choice but the right part of the three is too strong right now for that from for me
👍🍎
what if you chopped that apex down to that second pad and used it as an apex you would have better movement and more of a bonsai
and better taper
the soil mix, What is the mix ao what?
he said what the mix is
The akadama soil mixed and what else to mix
one part akadama, one part Kiryu Zuna, and one part Kyodama
