  • In this video Corin restyles a Japanese Black Pine. This pine had been grown from seed 20 years ago & is now ready for its initial styling.
After thinning out the tree, wire is applied to give shape and structure to the branches, beginning the trees life as bonsai.

I really find myself drawn to your methods and rational for how you develop trees. There is lots of content out there pertaining to the same stuff but I find your videos at the tops of my list for both education and entertainment. I suppose everyone has a personal style, which makes the world go around. I am very appreciative of yours. Thanks.

I saw this pine when I dropped into the shop the other week and did wonder what you had in mind for it! yet again another good demonstration on initial pruning and wiring for those like me who are less skilled!!!! Thank you.

Aussie Dave here, nice transfer from wild and wolly pine to something beautiful in just a few minutes . In time it will make a amazing bonsai 👍

It's nice to see the full wiring process, as other people tend to skip or speed this up in their videos. Cheers!

Amazing video. I love how modest and matter of fact you are when in all actuality you’re an absolute artist. Love it.

Thanks Corin, lots of good tips. I have a Japanese Black Pine from seed, just over 30 yrs old, a very similar shape that went a bit wild on me when I was working away from home a lot. Slowly bringing it back, so this was most welcome.
