Hello, could you make a video how to fuly unristrict the SYM Orbit II . Becous my scooter goes only 50km/h and i saw a video wich the bike went 80km/h.
Another missed step. don't drain it cold, operating temp is best and let it drain for 15 min.

@@1stopscootershop283 that's what I thought because I change oil in my scooter at 800 km recommended change is 1000km and oil always change Colour to darker shade while in here is almost new
Seems there's different views on this and both have very good points and it all depends if you have had it sitting for months and months Vs just a regular oil change. They say don't run the oil warm if it's been sitting for many many months as all you're doing is spreading all the shit around the engine again rather that drain it cold.

Remove the oil filler cap also before you undo the sump plug , so oil can flow out more freely ,

Just remember this is for four stroke scooters not two stroke. Another step missed is to check oil for a metallic sheen or debris. Where it is normal for a new engine as it's wearing in, it's not for an older engine and indicates you have issues usually the oil pump. On most air cooled scooters there is no oil pressure warning light so you need to be able to read your oil

Well you don't change the oil in two stroke generally. You just mix with gas
I thought you checked for debris when taking the filter off and cleaned? You mean point out and check more closely? Just wondering bc is there another part to check for debris that the video didn’t cover?

Don't use mineral oil use semi synthetic.
Really easy to remove filter screen housing on new bike but a few months of road grime and salt will soon make it hard to remove so don't bother, the mesh size of the screen is so large everything will pass through. As someone else said just use the 17 mm bolt at the side on this SYM model and also tilt the scoot towards you as more oil will come out.
AND NEVER have the oil level checked on the dipstick just after filling, run the engine for a minute then leave it off for a couple more then insert the dipstick so it just rests on the filling hole, do not twist or waggle it about, the oil should just reach the top of the cross hatched area, this is the maximum fill level NOT I REPEAT NOT as indicated on the smooth part of the dipstick. I have owned and still own two models a Jet 4 125 and a Fiddle 3 so have done many recommended 1000km oil changes. Manuals for most scooter models can be found online for free giving extensive information on maitainance , manuals library being just one.
it's all good but if you check don't screw dip stick just put it in and than check oil level....
kheiry mekni thanks for the comment. this was a Lance scooter which does call for you to screw in the dipstick because otherwise you could get an inaccurate reading. Other scooters I agree with you

oh shit! i just put in Red Line 90W! The label by the dipstick on my Shanghai JM Star simply said use GL-3 gear oil. Like there is only one weight. well i'm going to go with it. WELL DOUBLE SHIT. this is just for the engine oil. and it has to be 10-40. i'll drain it out and put it in the rear diff (aka transmission).

I was going to ask you how much oil and you said 750ml. There’s another yt video and they said to put the whole quart. That didn’t sound right bc I’ve had many Yamaha scooters and they all been like 2/3 or 3/4 and not the whole quart. Oh and another yt video says to put 850 ml and I guess it doesn’t hurt to put too much? Or maybe this is a 50cc and the others were a 125 Zuma and needed more oil?!

I have a couple questions. How can I tell the oil is clean? Other question would be that how would I know when to change the oil? I am new to having a scooter, and have no idea to how to maintain a scooter. I just got a 2020 Yamaha N Max 155, and it keeps flashing oil on the indicator, but I don't see anything wrong with its performance. Please reply as soon as you can. I will really appreciate it.

Check screws regularly and when you put gas to light sprays so the fizz from gasoline doesn’t overflow from tank

I've watched this ending a dozen times and I don't understand, you're saying that the oil level on the dipstick should go above the small criss-crossed lines at the bottom of the stick and then another half way from the top? Why is there no indicator on the stick? I feel like this is going to be way too much oil

hhmmm...oil looks new, underside of scooter is spotless, and tires are ultra clean; guessing this is a brand new unit & this shop chooses to change oil right after assembly & use a good American market oil instead of relying on oem oil of unknown quality...

Thanks jeyzee691 and good question. It really depends on your driving conditions (dusty area, climate, etc) and the age of the scooter and mileage. On this particular scooter (it was a new Lance just for the video) it’s recommended after the first 300km (186 miles) and then every 1000km (621 miles)

What do you use to clean the filter?
Just a Pro Random Gamer Use brake clean. Preferably the non flammable kind.
Gumout carb and choke cleaner. (Any carb and choke cleaner should work) This is recommended over specific brake cleaner as it has fewer chemicals and therefore may leave less residue when you’re cleaning the filter.

Hey how do you start a Lance Cabo 200I that doesn't wanna start? I turn the key and it doesn't even light up. It has gas left it full when last used 5 months ago.
You probably figured it out by now, but because batteries slowly drain you won't have any juice left. If you have a kickstarter you can use that, if not you will have to take it for a little walk. Another option is to charge the battery a bit with a charger or by hooking it up to another battery of the same voltage.

Can I use API GL-4 SAE-90 GEAR OIL in Transmission of TVS Jupiter or Honda Activa 4G 110cc gearless scooters?
Will it reduce the performance, pickup & milage and increase the wear & tear of transmission gears of scooter?
TVS company manual recommended to use same engine oil (10w30 JASO MA2) as the gear oil in transmission also.
Sidg2 can’t say with certainty about the performance etc but I’d stick as closely as possible to the manufacturers recommendation although are you sure they said to use the same engine oil as transmission? This doesn’t sound right to me. Wonder if it was a misprint. Good luck, let me know

Does API GL-4 SAE90 Grade Gear Oil and SAE 80W-90 Grade Gear Oil have almost same viscosities?
Can I use any one of them in my Honda Activa 4G or TVS Jupiter 110cc gearless scooter's transmission?
there is 10w40 gear oil. gl4 semi synthetic. Yamaha use 10w40 on neos 50 .Follow recommendations ALWAYS.
I change oil every 280 to 320 miles on my Honda metropolitan, that's usually when it begins to darken, I depend on my scoot ALOT , & just gives me peace of mind knowing she's full of clean oil, 14 oil changes in 4,000 miles but, I'm hoping it'll benefit in the long run ✌️

Oil is cheap , and oil change is easy , do final drive oil at same time as engine oil , it wont take much ,

Probably doing it way more than you need to. But it's better to do it too frequently than not enough. Only consequence of too frequent is the cost of oil. Better than the consequence of not enough

What is the brand of the scooter? Manual of my Piaggio says 10w40, but in my country we use 5w40. It's because we have a colder climate.

Daniel Andujar Well, I did it without knowing better, it smashed the netting a little. I drove for seven miles before changing the filter direction again. However, that might be on my cheap chicom scooter and not other people's.

4 stroke engine so oil is changed; 2 stroke typically with direct oil injection doesn't need oil changes (just add high quality injection oil). Just pointing this out - thanks for doing video.
My Chinese Sinnis uses 15W40 as stated on the crankcase, and every 1000 miles too. 👍

Alvaro Sánchez is a 10w 30 car oil ok and do u need to undo the bolt on the other side to get all the oil out or does enough come out with the filter bolt by the exhaust if u warm the engine first. . Thanks
@@matowixunplugged7927 you need motorcycle oil, this engines run harder, cools down the engine and need the aditives on Motorcycle oils like anti foaming and anti shear properties. Any MB or MA motorcycle oil will work fine, better a know brand semisynth. every 4.000 km or less. Take a look at tour manual, if missing sure you can find it on the web

Alvaro Sánchez also scooters don't have a gearbox in with the motor so there is no shearing but yeah they get hotter being aircooled.
Good video. I've been doing my own oil changes on my scooter motorcycle hybrid forever and it has the same setup. A lot of people say they always change the oil filter on their motorcycle with a new one but with the scooters it seems like they only have the reusable metal ones. Do they make disposable filters for the scooters and are they any better than the metal? Thanks

What is being used to clean the filter? I couldn't quite see the product. I've always done my own car oil changes but this will be my first scooter oil change. The dealer where I got it wants to charge me $140 for my first maintenance check and change the break-in oil!!! Ummm....NO!

no, it will mess up your scooter. Use motorcycle oil.
without wet clutch you can use if it is jaso ma2 compatible and not energy conserving type of oil. Do not use mineral oil.

Actually no. If you're thinking he's not getting all the old oil out because he's draining from the side consider that he screen removal for cleaning comes out at the bottom of the crankcase. If you want to argue with a guy who makes his living doing this I gotta ask where you got YOUR training. My guess? You have no training, just being argumentative because you're a dipstick yourself.
