P39 Airacobra start up WW2 airplane

First run ever of the P 39 in America. This aircraft was just put together; buy an incredible team of individuals. Look forward to it in some upcoming airshows. Video was taken at The Fighter Factory In Virginia Beach Virginia. The airplane will be on display at the military aviation museum.

I saw this being rebuilt in New Zealand. Its Beautifully finished, and has some very interesting design features when compared to its contemporary, the Curtiss P-40.

There was a water tank added for more cooling when it’s on the ground.

What was the purpose of the white hose/line leading to the wing? I think I heard someone mention cooling?

It’s a ground run with no air moving through the radiators. It’s trying to keep it cooler for the run.

Running a stationary plane on the ground at full revs with no wind rushing through the radiator would burn up the engine.

@@philschopshop4591 I watched a video about Aerocobra in flyable condition some years ago, but don't remember from what country.
UPD. Oh, I got what did you mean. This one is from New Zeland and just takes it's first run under USA's sky. Not the only one. There are at least three airworthy Aerocobras in USA.
