It seems universal that all cultures want to share their food with other cultures and get a special satisfaction seeing someone try their food. At first I was going to say it about Mexicans, because they're always feeding you and SOOO enjoy your enjoyment of their food. But once I thought about it, it's really something without borders. From Morocco, to Senegal, to Ethiopia, Laos, The Philippines, Somalia, Thailand, everyone I've been lucky enough to befriend over the years, there is always a special pride and bonding you experience when they share their food with you.
But, because this is a video about Mexico, it is a STRONG part of their appreciation to you and you to them when it comes to food. Even if it's something familiar, like their many sauces, when someone makes their family recipe and shares it with you, it is so special and somehow, no matter how similar the ingredients, there is a special flare to every Mexican's cooking. I miss my Guatemalan and Mexican coworkers :( I've been in lock down since March 17th and all of the cooks at the restaurant I work at, I miss their friendship and their DELICIOUS food.

I recently learned to make chilaquiles - breakfast style with chorizo and eggs. I got hooked after I tried it at mexican restaurants. I can't understand why this food hasn't become a common item on like every american breakfast menu. It's sooooo good.

so glad you mentioned theres two sides to a tortilla. most people dont know rhis but a tortilla has a side where it cooks longer than the other and its purpose is for the stuffing. the outter side is always more cooked and you can tell, especially in store bought tortillas, how the patterns differentiate.

One of the biggest things i appreciate about Mikey's videos is the elders passing down their skills/knowledge to younger generations.. so they in turn can keep the traditions/ values/ techniques going.. in a world of increasing technology it is so important to value those lessons from our elders - technology cannot replace the human spirit, soul and love that goes into the wonderful pureness of the foods we experience from these places that do it with just that- spirit, soul and love.

The fresh made flour tortillas are amazing in Mexico but the corn tortillas are the best when they are made right. But most of south of Mexico doesn't handle flour tortillas, north does. And heads up, there where no flour tortillas in this video, all corn.

The fresh made flour tortillas are amazing in Mexico but the corn tortillas are the best when they are made right. But most of south of Mexico doesn't handle flour tortillas, north does. And heads up, there where no flour tortillas in this video, all corn.

So I’m from Morelia and me and my family would go down to Janitzio right there by the lake Patzcuaro in Tzintzuntzan just for the pasta Icecream .best childhood memory. The last time I tried it was 15 years ago and I still remember the flavor like no other. Best Icecream I will ever Have.😊
