My advice for learners would be: be gentle to yourself if you see regression in your progress! In the past months, my personal life got unexpectedly busy and I couldn't study as much as I had intended. So I started forgetting vocabulary and noticed my pronunciation got worse. But I did not give up. Now that the storm has passed in my personal life I study again for about 6 hours a week and I am getting back on track. You can always get back on track!
I understood a lot. This was a coonversation between 2 friends about their day. It was an ordinary day. The one discussed about how he likes to walk with his wife. He mentioned that his hobby is football. The other dreams of playing music. I listened to this a few times with no explanation.

I began learning for a few months in 2018 but lost the thread, but then my Russian text glared at me from the shelf throughout lockdown, so I gave in and got back into it about two months ago, and am delighted to have done so. I’m still a beginner, about 100 pages into UCLA’s (awesome- highest recommendation) text. I dig into that about thrice a week and watch videos several times a day. Channels like yours are an invaluable resource, and I’m so thankful you’re here. Спасибо большое.
My Russian is going good! I learn every second day though but I learn passively as well. I used to in high school at age 17 but when I got into college it became hard to juggle. However, I decided to take less courses moving forward so I can focus on language learning. I am learning Swedish again to get in touch with a Swedish friend I haven’t talked to in some time but the Russian is coming back easier because I had more exposure to it growing up compared to Swedish.
I studied for about a year then took a year off and became fluent in Spanish because the progress was so much faster. I've set myself up well to dive back into Russian. I recognise almost all structures and immediately understand maybe a quarter of it. Perhaps more. Texts like these help to internalise meanings and the contexts they take place in
i’m pure canadian with only fascination with russian in university. started a week ago through babbel. have a few russian friends at the summer trailer. loving babbel as it fits my crazy work life. about an hour a day is about what i spend.
I’ve been studying Russia for about 6 months & while I understood the gist of the conversation, sometimes I am completely lost. I just spent a month in Russia & it took that long for me to get in the groove of sort of figuring things out, mainly because of the speed of conversations. I am now training myself to think in the Russian language as a child would in learning the language instead of translating from English to Russian. My guess is that by eliminating that option, my learning will accelerate.
@@eden20111 I think it was pretty easy actually, children don’t question anything or over analyze anything, to them everything is correct and true. Also, imitation of adults is extremely common so, when you listen to an adult you can simply repeat back exactly what they say with the same accent. There is more to it but, that’s the basic idea.
@@K.Marx48 the only things that are difficult are the things that you say are difficult. If you have the point of view that the Russian language is extremely difficult to learn, then that is the filter with which you look at everything and that becomes your detriment or obstacle. Yes, the language is complex but it certainly isn’t that difficult because if a child can learn it that anybody can learn it. The Russian language has a system of cases and so is German, they are only nuances and how the language is structured. It is kind of like mathematics, formulas work & you don’t question them, you simply apply them where they need to be used. Some people think I’m a genius and I don’t think so, I just figure out solutions without getting frustrated, it is like a game to me. In the beginning many of the words in Russian were difficult to pronounce for me and all I did was ask people to say it and I mimicked them. Nearly all Russian words have stresses and I just listened to people pronounce things and I then stressed the appropriate parts correctly. It really isn’t that hard.
@@jasonjackson5696 Sure, honestly the child analogy doesn't make much sense since it applies to every language in the world like mandarin Chinese for example, would you go as far as saying that Chinese is easy cause billions of children have learned it? I have studied German and it looks like a child game compared to Russian, maybe 🤔 I should switch to Spanish
You're a good man, Fedor. Thanks for what you do! I'm a beginner, started less than a month ago. Russian should be kind of my fifth language and, you know, there isn't a general method to learn languages, so I wanted to try something different from what I did with Greek and French these past 1 year and 3 months. I'm comfortable with notions of cases and perfective/imperfective aspects of verb due to Greek also having them, so I'm not stressing grammar that much. I experimented reading a book to get a general grasp of the language (the Penguin one) and I have been learning words (almost) everyday. I separated sheets to all cases with their terminations of nouns, adjectives, demonstratives and possessives and have been learning one thing out of time patiently while applying them to the words I already know in my notebook (I'm not studying exceptions now). I have also been watching your videos and from other channels too, and not only related to language learning, but also Russian culture. In general, I'm trying to not stress out, be patient and do a little bit everyday. It's not the first time I'm on this road, y'know?
I'm Russian and watching these because it's interesting for me how people lern my own language :))) and it's so nostalgic like I'm kid that goes to school in the first time. I know only basic of language how alphabet, numbers from 1 to 10 and easy words which are important for kid (мама, папа, привет, как дела, хочу есть and so on) всем удачи в изучении языка!!
I am thoroughly enjoying this Russian course. I am A-1 in my speaking skills and B-2 in my comprehension skills. I studied Russian at the University of Michigan, but it has been a number of years, since I graduated. This is a refresher course for me, and I am really looking forward to it!

And your response isn't what I'm expecting, i would probably end the conversation by saying Пока In conclusion, i'm not confident yet. The urge to speak russian to russians is there. Hello Fedor,, have a very happy New year! And congrats on doing a fine job on what you are doing. I cannot benefit much as I used to speak R. Pretty fluently (born in China - until 9 years, mother Russian from Chita, father Czech - then 28 years in Prague (lots of R. In Cz high school too) .And now 63 years in Canada where I used R. about twice at some engineering conference = I am now 90. So I have concluded I don’t need to study Russian any mor (except your short mini lessons on TH-cam which remind me of things I once used to know.. fthsnkd
I like the word by word translate portion. I think it is important to literally translate the sentence so the proper word structure is apparent. I understand sentences can be structured differently but I want to learn structure also. The phrase what is your name is structured How you called.
Could you perhaps questions at the end of the Russian to ensure that we understood, and then do the English translation after? eg: "how long has it been since they have seen each other?"
I live in Holland im a native Dutch speaker, ( and advanced in english ) i started about 4 - 5 months ago, and this (video) is a little to advanced for me. i feel like im still below A1 :( however i did understood a few random words here and there. i learn via Duolingo about 1 to 2 hours a week. i also watch RealRussianClub on youtube sometimes ( i am at episode 5.) and i have a native russian teacher that i talk to 2 - 3 times a week via skype, the problem is there is a 8 hour difference between us... I think I know about ( or less than) 250 words in russian and i do know that i struggle with some rules like, when O turns to A and so on when reading. perhaps i just need to focus more or spent more time learning. ( i spent like 1 - 4 hours a week learning ) but no rush XD PS. i feel like learning via youtube or duolingo is annoying because no one corrects me when i pronounce a word wrong. any tips or help is welcome

Все эти мероприятия/подходы/методы мне гораздо эффективнее помогают учить русский язык. когда в предложении "гораздо" нужно + как? что-то делать добавить слово. гораздо быстрее бегать, гораздо активнее запоминать слова, гораздо крепче спать
хочу исправить некоторые ошибки у вас, если вы не против :) я отвечаю на твой вопрос - всё ок, но можно сказать и "отвечу на твой вопрос" каждый день с тренируюсь с дуолингО - это слово вроде как не склоняется, так же, как и пальто, кимоно, кофе и так же я смотрю видео на русском - посмотрю относится к будущему времени из-за совершенного вида, который слово приобретает из-за приставки "по", а так же предлог "в" тут не к месту, лучше использовать "на" и так же я вхожу в/посещаю русский клуб, в котором мы делаем уроки из книг - вам не хватает какого-то глагола, о том, что вы принадлежите к этому русскому клубу, поэтому, можно сказать, например "вхожу"; не совсем правильно просклоняли слово "книги", здесь у нас Р.п кого? чего? из книг, но вы написали так, будто это П.п. о ком? о чем? о книгах сейчас мы посмотрим кухня - было бы уместно так сказать, если вы посмотрите сериал прямо сейчас (we will watch it right now for example), но тут лучше "мы собираемся посмотреть кухню" (we are going to watch it) всё это помогает мне учить русский гораздо лучше - ох, тут много недочётов 1. всё это, а не эти. сложно объяснить почему именно так, но имеется ввиду, что ЭТО как бы обобщая всё ранее перечисленное в одно целое 2. помогает, а не помогают - вытекает из прошлого пункта, тк здесь единственное число, а не множественное 3. учить - это помогает (что делать?) учить. как аналог тут можно поставить слово обучаться, но тогда уж русскому 4. гораздо лучше - слово "гораздо" употребляется вместе со словом, которое его определяет. то есть гораздо (как?) лучше, хуже, теплее, холоднее и так далее. подобно, как сказать most и нужно еще слово которое дает понять зачем нам most, например - most likely, most recently и так далее текст вышел большой, но искренне хотелось помочь вам в изучении русского. удачи с учёбой!

I have pretty good accent by now but still can't build perfect sentence. I have to watch Netflix series a lot, Gimme some interesting movies which are Russian
I'm beginner, I only want to speak Russian in the future. Currently, I only know basic verbs and little vocabulary. I'm memorizing words as much as I could everyday, And try chatting in Russian. Other things in Grammar I think I don't need, Because Russian is similar to Arabic.

Как по мне мы чаще общаемся проще, чем в таких диалогах. Я понимаю, что так легче научится языку, но я думаю всё таки чтобы нормально научится свободно говорить на языке надо хотя бы неделю пожить в стране в которой говорят на этом языке
Мы так же, как англоязычные люди сокращаем слова и т.п. И мне кажется, что все вообще говорят отнюдь не по общепринятым правилам. Также многие часто используют в разговорах жесты типо кивка и т.п. Также маты(насколько я знаю на этом канале было видео про маты). Короче мой совет: учите русский, но как минимум съездите в Россию хотя бы на неделю, это точно поможет вам поднять знания о русском языке и культуре русской речи
Here's my advice - stay away fro Russian grammar. Sentences, sentences, sentences. After you know 5000 words or so by reading and listening and repeating sentences, maybe then try learn grammar. You'd be surprised that you already intuitively know everything.

Using Duolingo everyday. I would say a bit ahead of beginner I would say. I listen to music and understand some sentences

I understood everything because 70 percent of the words are the same and similar as in the Croatian language 😀

Я отвечаю на твой вопрос: Каждый день, я тренируюсь с Дуолингом. И также я посмотрю видео в русском. И тоже я в Русский Клуб, в котором мы делаем уроки из книгах. И также мы смотрим русские сериалы - сейчас мы посмотрим Кухня. Всё эти... мне гораздо помогают учусь русский язык. 🤘😎🤘😎

когда в предложении "гораздо" нужно + как? что-то делать добавить слово. гораздо быстрее бегать, гораздо активнее запоминать слова, гораздо крепче спать

я отвечаю на твой вопрос - всё ок, но можно сказать и "отвечу на твой вопрос"
каждый день с тренируюсь с дуолингО - это слово вроде как не склоняется, так же, как и пальто, кимоно, кофе
и так же я смотрю видео на русском - посмотрю относится к будущему времени из-за совершенного вида, который слово приобретает из-за приставки "по", а так же предлог "в" тут не к месту, лучше использовать "на"
и так же я вхожу в/посещаю русский клуб, в котором мы делаем уроки из книг - вам не хватает какого-то глагола, о том, что вы принадлежите к этому русскому клубу, поэтому, можно сказать, например "вхожу"; не совсем правильно просклоняли слово "книги", здесь у нас Р.п кого? чего? из книг, но вы написали так, будто это П.п. о ком? о чем? о книгах
сейчас мы посмотрим кухня - было бы уместно так сказать, если вы посмотрите сериал прямо сейчас (we will watch it right now for example), но тут лучше "мы собираемся посмотреть кухню" (we are going to watch it)
всё это помогает мне учить русский гораздо лучше - ох, тут много недочётов
1. всё это, а не эти. сложно объяснить почему именно так, но имеется ввиду, что ЭТО как бы обобщая всё ранее перечисленное в одно целое
2. помогает, а не помогают - вытекает из прошлого пункта, тк здесь единственное число, а не множественное
3. учить - это помогает (что делать?) учить. как аналог тут можно поставить слово обучаться, но тогда уж русскому
4. гораздо лучше - слово "гораздо" употребляется вместе со словом, которое его определяет. то есть гораздо (как?) лучше, хуже, теплее, холоднее и так далее. подобно, как сказать most и нужно еще слово которое дает понять зачем нам most, например - most likely, most recently и так далее

Currently, I only know basic verbs and little vocabulary.
I'm memorizing words as much as I could everyday, And try chatting in Russian.
Other things in Grammar I think I don't need, Because Russian is similar to Arabic.

Лол, англоговорящие учатся по таким же нереалистичным диалогам, как и мы учим английский))
Как по мне мы чаще общаемся проще, чем в таких диалогах. Я понимаю, что так легче научится языку, но я думаю всё таки чтобы нормально научится свободно говорить на языке надо хотя бы неделю пожить в стране в которой говорят на этом языке
Мы так же, как англоязычные люди сокращаем слова и т.п. И мне кажется, что все вообще говорят отнюдь не по общепринятым правилам. Также многие часто используют в разговорах жесты типо кивка и т.п. Также маты(насколько я знаю на этом канале было видео про маты). Короче мой совет: учите русский, но как минимум съездите в Россию хотя бы на неделю, это точно поможет вам поднять знания о русском языке и культуре русской речи
это из-за А1 А2 :) Реалистичный диалог не таком уровне не получится :)
You swallow the end of your sentences. I have to turn up the volume to hear you.
Here's my advice - stay away fro Russian grammar. Sentences, sentences, sentences. After you know 5000 words or so by reading and listening and repeating sentences, maybe then try learn grammar. You'd be surprised that you already intuitively know everything.
