    This has to be the clearest and best explained repair video I have ever seen. I know a lot of guys are trying to shoot the video and explain at the same time so it doesn’t come out great but this was amazing. Thank you!!!

    thanks for the video, well made and easy to follow for a quick refresher on how to talke the job. I like to see the installs before hand to not miss a fastner that could break something like a plastic panel

    Laura, thanks for taking the time to edit and post this video, very helpful. You mentioned in your tool advice a 7/32 socket (some might want to use a 5.5 mm if they only have metric tools). Also, you mentioned a 7 mm socket to remove the lower bezel, (might have meant a 7/32 or the 5.5 mm). If you ever edit this, you could add the 8 mm you used to disconnect the battery cables. Final addition, on the back of the new clock spring are two small guide pins that index into the steering angle sensor. They are delicate so advise your many viewers to be careful not to break them. If after this repair, it is remotely possible that a scan tool might be needed to "re-calibrate" the steering angle sensor.

      Is there any programming that needs to be done after installing the clock spring?

    • @hopfammedia
      @hopfammedia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No @hphillips7425, there is not.

    Very complicated electronics but not as bad as replacing a sensor matt that is integrated into the seat. Very easy to break when you insert too much pressure on the seat, like knee on it. Or put something on the seat that is very heavy. To replace it you need to dismantle the entire seat or just find another matching set of seats. Since it is a pressure sensor inside the seat it means also that once the micro connections get broken the airbag light will never go out from the dashboard. Air bags can actually kill if not handled properly so good call on safety working with the vehicle.

      Wow, that certainly sounds intense. Thanks for the input, Steve!

    My steering wheel buttons are all mixed up, and i'm pretty sure it's the clock spring wearibg out on my 2016 F150. I noticed the recall was F250 and up, but I have to wonder if this is the same issue related to the recall ? I have no problem doing the labor, but I was hoping Ford would give me the upgraded replacement part.

      Hi Brian! We haven't run into that issue before, but it might be a good idea to input your truck's VIN at www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and see if there is a related recall. Another possibility is that the buttons have been removed before and then replaced incorrectly. Hope this helps!

      Today, Ford dealer just replaced my Clock Spring in my Ford F250 Super Duty. (7/19/23)
      Ford sent me a letter in the mail a safety recall.
      I bought this truck used 8/2022.
      Send in your vin number to Ford!

    could this be the reason why my high beams are stuck on even when the truck is turned off. I just got the truck and the steering wheel is also misaligned which I plan on getting it aligned this upcoming week. I read that a steering wheel misaligned could be the reason for the stuck high beams.

    Mine went out in my 2016 Expedition. Steering wheel controls quit working. Took to local Ford dealer. Charged me 135.00 for diagnosis. Then quoted me 683.64 for the part and 202.50 for labor. So i would have had a bill of 1021.14. I bought the part online for 156.51. Took less than 1/2 hr. to replace. I wonder if ill get back what they were going to charge me when these are included in the recall? FORD DEALERS WILL STEAL FROM YOU WHEN GIVEN A CHANCE!
