"I'm not an attorney, I don't understand necessarily all of these procedures."
What a classy way of saying "stop wording these in such a way to trick me"

    • @amberlance3221
      @amberlance3221 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I can't get over the fact she said she wasn't a lawyer, so she wasn't sure. The attorney just proceeds to assume the complexities of psychology.
(Paraphrasing): "mR. dEpP sAiD bOrDeRliNe AnD yOu SaId TyPe B pErSoNaLiTy"
Heard does have a type B personality. The evidence shows there is something wrong with her behaviour. Those audio recordings show she is emotional and destructive (classic for a Borderline personality).
Having a Borderline personality doesn't mean she is a bad person, but without treatment she is a danger to herself and others.

This psychologist was literally asked what a 'diagnosis' and a 'personality disorder' is (which in my opinion is common sense), but when asked what these are she answered politely. Meanwhile, when Amber's lawyer is asked about the terminology she uses (that a person who doesn't study law wouldn't know) she almost mocks her for not knowing. Says a lot about her in my opinion.

This is a civil case, so no jail time. It’s likely he’ll win this case since the burden of proof is beyond a reasonable preponderance (51% likelihood the allegations are true). In criminal court there has to be a 99% chance, he could also win. However, statue of limitation says 6 years, max, for domestic violence cases. So it’d unfortunately be thrown out, and prosecutors wouldn’t pursue.

Forensic psychologists are appropriate for a crime case this is not a crime case it's a civil lawsuit. Many people fall for this thinking that the forensics psychologist is going to help exonerate them... When would a forensic psychologist does is look for pathologies. A forensic psychologist is going to find pathologies in most everyone... But people innocently take any evaluation baking and believing that it somehow will exonerate them when would it is actually designed to do regardless of who is taking it... Is to find all of their pathologies. People believe forensic psychologists are just scientists free of bias... And that what they're doing could not possibly be anything but objective science. However that is not true. Regardless of who is being tested interpretation of facts and subjective interpretation is 100% of what a forensic psychology assessment is it's merely an opinion.. regardless of who it is about...

I think it more borders on the flaws in Heard's defense. Her entire defense NEEDS to be that Johnny Depp is abusive. She backed herself into a corner with the accusations. Since Johnny is able to prove that these statements are false and deliberate, she's only got one option to win: make his rebuttals seem unreliable. She doesn't want to plead guilty as that will ruin her credibility since she's a DV advocate, and it seems she was the abusive partner. She has to discredit Depp and stop him from stating his case. This leaves very little the defense can do besides objecting everything and trying to exhaust the witnesses to cause an (unprofessional) outburst. So far, Depp has a case where a majority of the outcomes are in his favor.

@@tffvn4492 It is a thing. The behavior pattern that constitutes the personality disorder needs to be present before or at onset of adulthood. Quoted from the DSM5:
"The pattern is stable and of long duration, and its onset can be traced back at least to adolescence or early adulthood."
During my clinical psychology degree, practitioners giving lectures on personality disorders generally told us that the behavior being present by the time one enters adulthood (age 18 in my part of the world) will make up 99% of all PD cases.
If you have a proper understanding of personality disorders and the intense dysfunction they bring, you will understand why it is so unlikely that such a large qualitative difference (going from no to a PD) would occur in middle adulthood. Furthermore she cut everytimes in if the doctor tried to explain a circumstance more precisly.
That's just awful and unprofessionell. (well at least in my eyes)

How annoying was the way the lawyer questioned all the time the professionalism of the Doctor, after her previous statement (with such precision) and all of her formative years. The lawyer questions sounded very insulting for a person of such formation

To be fair, from what I've read she's not really qualified for the job.. Heard's already won twice. Her lack of acting talent is the best defence she has.

How does a drink being served with dinner at a 4 hour interview where they are all grown ups speaking to each other show bias? This doctor can’t have a drink with the meal whilst being interviewed? What a joke. Depp called her borderline personality disorder and this doctor after an extensive evaluation decided to use that because he said that? I mean is that what’s she’s getting at? The tests the doctor administered are what picked out the bpd she didn’t just pick it out of thin air. The whole muffin thing was embarrassing.

This attorney uses a tone as if she's proving points when she just serves up a word salad of convoluted statements using double negatives trying to intimidate and confuse the witness This witness is rock solid and that dippy lawyer at 60 plus years old and who sounds like she just passed the bar exam is no match. It's embarrassing listening to her stumble all over herself while trying to sound quick minded and astute. Good Lord. AH will likely say she wasn't properly represented when she loses this case and she really wasn't. But good attorneys will at least avoid alienating the jury with an attitude meant to distract from their lack of proof that the op-ed didn't harm JD. She really underestimated the jury's intelligence.

I personally feel like she was trying to come off as confident and competent, for the jury and also to fluster dr curry.
But to do that she had to be purposefully obtuse and complicated, which made her come off as sketchy.
