Exactly! I love when Amber’s lawyer started asking questions and instead of answering yes or no like they wanted she would say “that’s not quite right” it was obvious that the defense was trying to question her credibility and trying to,i guess, cut questions to make them sound different than what they really were. She handled herself so well and didn’t fall for their tricks.

My mom was BPD so i know what that looks like but had no experience with HPD and found it tricky to imagine. I watched Amber testify and was left thinking, “Omg, THAT’S what Dr. Curry was describing.”

It’s the most relevant essence that is pertinent to all the issues that Heard’s defense tried to skew. That’s not the only outfit either. It’s very creepy stuff but people immediately picked up on what she was doing.

It looks difficult though having studied 10 years of psychology with latter specialisation in psychometric testing and statistics (considerably less than the psychologist on the stand and her specialisations) it becomes automatic to give answers like these because generally, 'people don't know a great deal about the ins and outs of psychological tests' so in everyday conversations / sessions you talk this educational / break it down way and it becomes automatic. Even I could have answered a lot of these and I was quite surprised given I left the field about 17 years ago. The ideas that she's talking about are so ingrained in the teaching / conversations it becomes second nature. Bit of a thrill watching at this end as I'd heard at uni 'what we're being taught needs to be legally defensible' (so we learned to speak from that place) but to see it in action is pretty cool.

The evidence and the doctors testimony corroborate and point to an obvious serious mental disorder. I've been around BPD, and the resemblance is uncanny. The idea that she planned this whole situation out just doesn't fit the picture.
It looks like she went into full ego protection mode toward the end, don't forget, the last thing these people can do is realise they are at fault or have a problem. Their ego defenses jump through so many hoops it makes your head spin.

This is highly educational. If there's any good thing that comes from this, I'd say it's increased public awareness of this kind of illness and it's symptoms.

I just want to remind people that someone having Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) does NOT mean they are a bad person or toxic or like Amber Heard. BPD people already have an incredibly difficult time getting help and are discriminated in medical settings. BPD is also treatable with a blend of DBT and long term 1 on 1 therapy.

There is always someone on a video about BPD who says something like this...I don't think what you're saying is untrue, but where are these people? I'd love to hear/learn from them. If they exist, I hope they gain the strength to eventually educate or speak on their experience.

It doesn’t mean they are as bad/toxic as Amber Heard but they are often bad/toxic people. Although it’s not the persons fault that they are on the cluster B spectrum, it’s also important that their bad behaviour isn’t minimised because they have a personality disorder. All adults need to take 100% accountability for their actions, whether disordered or not.

Did you have a negative experience in the past? I love studying psychology. It's fascinating and also the quite simple concepts and diagnoses (I've assumed) have helped people feel less lonely in their illnesses or personality traits. Like hey, you're normal. We all go through it... type of thing. 😄
