- During his testimony on Wednesday, Johnny Depp told the story of how his finger was severed during an incident with Amber Heard. Depp alleges that Heard threw a glass bottle at him, causing his finger to be severed. Depp stated, "I was looking directly at my bone sticking out, and the meaty portion on the inside of your finger and blood was just pouring out."

Yeah, we really need to normalize prenups as a society. Nowadays if you try to get a prenup you'll get flamed because "you're not dedicated to the relationship and are planning for it to fail" but it should be viewed the other way around and be the default. You should automatically have a prenup and have to specifically opt into one and it should instead be viewed as "ohh why do you want a prenup, are you assuming we're gonna get a divorce in the future and you want money if and when that happens, is that the reason you want to get married?" Like it really shouldn't matter if you get one or not, if the relationship works out like planned then it'll never even come into play. Same thing with wills, you shouldn't even worry about that until you're old and sickly, that's basically like planning for your partner to die and it's suspicious if you even bring it up so early on in the relationship... If you're still newly wed and your partner dies unexpectedly then money should be the last thing on your mind anyway, you just lost the love of your life after all...

My impression is that she doesn’t have much support, male or female. I am even a woman who has been (falsely) accused of domestic violence by my ex husband during our ugly divorce so I know firsthand that can happen, but I don’t believe her and I don’t have an iota of sympathy for her.

As a woman, I just want to say to all the good-hearted guys, don't you ever put up with this kind of thing. If a woman loves you, she would never want to hurt you or make you feel bad, or make you feel guilty for just living your normal life and enjoying your hobbies and friends. She will lift you up, and encourage you. If you are in a relationship that makes you feel bad about yourself, or you find yourself withdrawing from family and friends, or losing interest in things you loved, run the fk away right now.
You deserve better, and you can definitely find a good partner who will love you with kindness and understanding. Don't ever stay with someone who makes you feel isolated like this because you're scared you can't find someone else or of being alone. You are stronger than you think, so don't give up on finding someone who understands how love is supposed to be.

Might also be a courtroom thing where hiding implies concealment which changes the situation, I could see his lawyer coaching him to not say it.

As someone who was once in a relationship with an abusive woman, this explanation of locking himself in bedrooms/ bathrooms and making excuses for them rings so true.
exactly what i would do with my ex wife. she would throw plates of hot food at me daily, threw meat cleaver at me twice, kicked me most days till i bled, stomped my feet with stilleto heels, smashed a laptop on my head. i locked myself in a spare bedroom and she managed to rip the door from the hinges. it got to the point were i duct taped a plastic bag over my head and then wrapped the tape around my arms but i wasnt quick enough because she found me, tore the bag and then proceeded to punch and kick me. It was so exhausting - just trying to keep a "monster" at arm's length whilst the blows rained down.
As a guy - all I ever got from people was to hit her back, or she cant hit that hard. we divorced in 2008 and i am without any doubt that if we had stayed together I would have been dead by 2009

In retrospect that’s probably not the best way to deal, but from what I saw people’s reactions were a lot like what you said, ‘hit her back’, ‘she’s so much smaller than you’, etc… I don’t even know if support groups were a thing back then, I can remember that all I wanted was out. It’s akin to getting out of a burning building, I felt like anything I would have done was just throwing fuel on the fire. I’m sorry that took you to such dark places, but I’m glad you made it out.

2. Johnny depp was a great career move and a very good financial move
3. She wanted to be entitled to Depps money
4. When she learned about the legal process taking place that would keep their financials separate she was furious
5. She freaked out on Johnny to undo this because she's use to getting her way
6. She assaults Johnny, and quickly realized that she really screwed up, and how do you get out of assaulting someone?
7. She accused Johnny of being an abuser
8. She used this accusation to get further ahead in her career

Same, I didn't follow any of the dealings between him and Amber. I'm taking in a bit of this trial and it's so easy to see she's horrendous. I hope he wins this. He deserves some justice.

The thing that annoys me the most is the fact he took drugs to get away from his abusive relationship as a way of relief, that she even used his only escape against him to make him look bad for needing to take the pain away people take drugs for one reason only, to take away the pain
This is so painful to watch; I can't imagine how much more painful it must be for him. He may not be a saint, but there's no doubt in my mind that she was the abusive one, and that her claims are a bunch of lies. Hope the jury sees the truth and makes an example with her.

He honestly looks better than he has in years. I think the stress of being vilified is lifted off his shoulders now that the truth is finally coming out. I wish him nothing but the best

I bet that when she finally does take the stand, the whole testimony will be in TEARS (like the actress she is), trying to get sympathy.
