My opinion on the rework is mixed. Personal opinion, it looks like its catered more towards newer players. And with the flat decrease to both his general stats, and no longer a speed buff, The exchange is he can consistently do 2x damage without having to eat for it. I dont really think its worth it but like I said, the character is still really good regardless. Its just more of a nerf than a rework.

I don't mind losing the speed boost. There's so many speed characters now that having some tankier characters gives more variation.
I'm also surprised he didn't abuse the fuck out of the marble armor, which doesn't affect Wolfgang's speed at full strength.

Speed runners: we don't need hp we need S P E E D
Slasher's ultimate flex is not using marble armor (no speed penalty perk) when the marble is sitting on the ground next to him on one of the hardest fights in the game.

@@vergilsgamingchair8772 I'd say DFly with no walls is somewhat challenging while Klaus is just straight up easy. Pretty much moosegoose level of difficulty.
I see this as an absolute buff, Wolfgang can literally farm birds and his need for food has decreased a bit
And also on his mighty form he can use marble suit without speed penalty
It was specifically stated in the update by Klei that it is a nerf.

You can make better dumbbells, a golden one and a gem bell
You can replace the potato sacks for statues or boss statues along with other things possibly?
While mighty he can use a piggyback or a marble suit without the speed decrease!

I dont see too much of a point to the lifting heavier stuff as they don't provide any better buffs besides quicker muscle mass. As for the dumbbells id say the gold one is fairly decent but they still suck as weapons so I wouldn't waste the gems on one unless it was a challenge

Dumbbell only challenge: kill a boss of your choice using only dumbbells, golden dumbbells or gembells (melee or throw, you choose)

i like the rework, makes wolfgang slightly more multiplayer friendly, makes him more consistent, adds more interesting gameplay for the character and all that cool jazz

The wolfgang rework is 100% a buff. Permenant 2x damage rather than a most of the time 2x.

@@Zanollo5 Where's this 2 minutes coming from? It takes literally 10 seconds to get mightyness from boss statues, and that's from wimpy. That's faster than you can cook a meaty stew to get from wimpy to mighty.
Let's not forget, that mightyness now lasts over a day, by literally doing nothing. You'd be starving to death in that same time frame as the old one.

Nah, people are mad because it dumbed down his previously complex gameplay to a more boring and easier to manage routine.
People, or rather those who are real main Wolf are angry because he lost his essence and all his ability by changing it for a boring minigame that spends most of your time creating, improving and playing it, in addition to the dumbbells that is stupid boring to mine every so often to create the 'decent' variation, people don't get mad at the 100 hit points less, because of his new strength meter, they're just mad that they took away the one thing he was good at and let other characters are ridiculously good in that same area, wigfrid having 25% natural damage and 250 effective health, wanda with his absurd damage at the cost of knowing how to kite, seriously, play wolfgang for 71 days with the old and now with the new, what you will understand

Wolfgang is definitively better than he was.
Sure, it's harder to get him mighty, but full hunger can make his mighty state last for nearly and entire day.
He can use piggyback AND marble suit without the speed decrease when mighty, making him arguably the tankiest & one of the most versatile characters in the game.
Plus, he won't eat your fridge.
Do you like a character better that can use 2 crafts that are not unique to anyone and everyone can do on day 2 just because he takes it for free? ... ok, I guess you have never rushed ruins or mounted beefalo xd
@@bewie656 I'm saying he's strong because he's versatile and reliable. He can get his benefits without beefalo or ruins, and only ever needs to spend some time lifting and foraging (things you will ALREADY be doing as Wolfgang) in order to get access to crazy high defense, excellent inventory, and 2x damage for an extended period of time.
No, the items that make him powerful are not unique to him. But the fact that he can use them to a fuller extent and get access to them easier than any other character is what MAKES him powerful.
Just because he doesn't have access to a ton of unique tools doesn't mean he is weak; a few important changes are enough, not to mention how well he can synergize with other characters BECAUSE of his simplicity.

how do you choose bosses to fight in these videos? Is it just random?
The no speed penalty when mighty which makes marble armor (it blocks 90% of damage) and piggyback (a backpack with more inventory slots and is fire proof), and also he can travel by sea faster when mighty too. His damage is now a flat 2x when mighty instead of the inconsistent tie change at the slightest loss of hunger. Also hunger is less of a problem as it's must more reasonable drain instead of the 3x drain when mighty. Don't get me wrong you still gonna keep him fed at least decently as hungry is tied with how fast the mighty meter drains, but at least with the rework he isn't as much of a destroyer to his team's food supply anymore. His might time can last longer than before. Sure he lost the mighty speed boost and his stats are always a 200 (expect the mighty meter which is at 100)
to say that you probably never play with wolfgang, piggyback with the old speedboost gives you 5% more speed, with this one you LOSE speed comparing with the old one
@@alysongoncalvesjorge314 for better damage since it's a flat damage 2x when might is a fair trade off that +5% extra speed carrying the piggyback when mighty, 5% extra speed is not a lot of extra speed. He's the strong man not the fast man. That belonged to a different character since the start of the original don't starve game. A flat 2x damage output is a huge upgrade from the inconsistent scale with hungry so that means less time required to eat which means better dps over the course of a fight which goes well with a higher amount of time to go from mighty to wimpy which is made even better now that gaining the mighty form is more simplified than his prerework counterpart
