Wilsons Rework is in all honesty exactly what I expected it to be(in a good way) However I do still think there is some room for improvement. Wilsons number one pro is actually not his beard, but the fact that Wilson has no downsides. So Wilsons issue in regards of a rework is giving him abilities that are an improvement that simultaneously don't make him too powerful and thus ruin the intrinsic value that is Wilson. And because of this, I found the torch throw somewhat useful along with beard storage and alchemy, and those were all good small buffs that give Wilson just that slight extra push. In other words, I could probably come up with a cooler way to buff him without forcing a downside on him but for now, my minds a blank good job to Klei for buffing Wilson while still knowing his limits.
As for the Day walker... Klei, are you guys watching my theories? No Im joking (Unless....) But yeah I have to say with the release of both my monster meat theory and my pig theory to then one month later, add a boss that is heavily related to both monstermeat and pigmen is honestly pretty cool. The Nightmare Werepig could be the exact missing piece of my pig theory and whether or not he is actually wilbas father could give us a key insight on what dont starves next story arc is! Anyways, im a fan of all the new content, Dreadstone armor is cool, And I was right about everything.

I know there is that one mod that makes it so that caves server will stop whenever you aren't inside it to stop lag. It doesn't work on multiplayer but it is incredibly useful for singeplayer as it basically removes the lag from your game. I don't remember what it is called, but it starts with singleplayer.
Obviously it is made for singlaplayer and removing the mod from the world once implemented or making other people join will cause issues.

Wilson technically is the best character now. Previously he had 1 upside and no drawbacks. Now he still has no drawbacks, but he has like 10 different kinds of upsides now.
I mean, what drawback does Wolfgang have? Losing more sanity in the dark is honestly a bonus rather than a drawback

@@myszycygaming409 His hunger is evened out. Its more when hes big and less when hes small. In fact if you arent fighting and your hunger is less thats not a drawback, that's a huge benefit
@@Razmatschannel the only real downside wolfgang has is the little animation that plays when he goes from mighty to normal, but if you are actively fighting stuff this will never really effect you because fighting keeps your mightiness high
@@Razmatschannel He does have some drawbacks and while some people can construe that yes they may be upsides, they can still be detrimental in certain circumstances. Wilson lacks any form of drawback that has the possibility of harming him in the long run. Wolfgang is always seen as the "Best Character" because of his huge damage output and high health pool, and I'm not saying he isn't one of the best characters he definitely is, its just that it gets boring when playing as him. Little to no challenge. Sure it's fun for a while and I play Random so if I get Wolfgang I just roll with it but he isn't the only character. Also losing more sanity in the dark can be a bonus since more nm fuel, but I don't want to be insane all the time.
Daywalker is such a cool boss. I feel like the way it lunges at you to attack and can “combo” you is just so good. It’s not like the other bosses in my opinion since they don’t really have two melee attacks most of the time. Most bosses have their basic melee attack and then a special ability which is cool and all but sometimes it’s more annoying than fun to fight.
It’s also unique in that it knocks you off your beefalo, if you have one. (I don’t know if any other mob can do that)
The lunge attacks are always annoying though
The Warrior Spiders and some others are proof of that.

Nobody can be a higher tier than the 'Bad Luck Magnet' that is Wes. He suffers so we don't have to. Also, since his rework, he's a lot stronger than people give him credit for. Low stats means easy to fill up again. Which also means you don't need much stuff that restores a ton of health, you don't need high hunger restoring foods, you are a literal walking nm fuel machine (Make a ton of party balloons to go mad, kill shadow monsters, pop party balloons, get sanity back.) He has lightning proof balloon helms, day 1 temporary walking sticks, life vests etc. Wes is meant to make everyone's lives easier, and boy does he do a good job at it.

wes was definitely not intended to be good, his support capabilities are a side effect of his rework. he is the challenge character, after all

unfortunately, little did slasher know, this was the beginning of klei introducing skill trees to don't starve together, and as such, he now needs to do an op rerework video for every single character apart from wilson, starting with wolfgang, woodie, and wormwood as those were the first to get skill trees
"wilsus" is such an amazing concept, imagine wilson, but he's gotten the entire pierogi chest and then there's the dst cast following him while he walks with some funny song playing. They enter wilson's base and wilsus starts walking without armor while other dst characters without armor dance, truly one of the moments ever

Don't know if you ever gonna see this but SOLO DON'T STARVE, yeah, search this mod... It simply will deactivate the caves running together with the Surface, then your lag goes to zero. Once you enter caves, it simply sincs the 2 worlds... Cant play solo DST without this mod

doing the moonstone event gives werepigs that drop pig skin, but i do think it would be cool if it dropped some pig skin, like how toadstool drops frog legs

I never thought there would be a Wilson rework, like he is just a dude with a beard, but here we are.
Is a bishop bullying you unfairly with stupid projectiles no problem for the cost of 2 twigs and grass (I think) you can make a torch and after taking classes for only 69 gold a month you canearn stuff like lighting the bishop on fire so it can't attack especially useful for a 2 for 1 bishop deal.

the gem isnt what slows down the rush, its the pearl grind and crab king
@@vizuallyimpaired yeah its cool for getting astral detector early but characters that can get stuff for pearl faster are probably still better, crab king isnt that hard because you can just use bees but the pearl tasks need a lot of resources

I’m just gonna say it, Wilson’s rework is weird and the “progression based off time survived” should have been a general mechanic.
I wish they leaned more into the mad science aspect of Wilson, like giving him year long access and specials crafts in the mad science lab.
I think they wanted to keep Wilson as a beginner friendly character, and I'm glad they did.
