The CGI is actually good considering how high the director was while making the movie.
how. high. was. he.
@@ripelivejam higher than the people on the international space station
You probably didn't see first move from 1996 where CGI was much more better.

I like it.
I don't know why but I always get a good laugh when he says
"Get out of Drake's way"
Then proceeds to yeet the guy across the hallway
I recall watching this as a kid and being completely awed.
Then I wondered why HBO never again aired the movie again.
Now... I understand why.
Why?
It's cheesy af, especially compared to the first one which is more about sacrifice as opposed to this which is about "hey let's add more dragons"
Evil Dude: *turns into a dragon*
Crowd: *reacts like they’re watching something embarrassing*
Lord Osric's transformation into a dragon is the best I've ever seen, and his dragon form is one of the best in film.
End of the line, say good to their ruthless Captain of the Guard.
I have seen it, actually.

i love this movie because of drake, because he is draco's son. He wanted to ensure the existence of his species so he never told Bowen if he is to have any offspring until he discovered his egg in his friend's cave when he grew old.

My favorite part of the movie is when Drake realizes that dragons can be evil as man can be at times. He knows Geoff saved his life when he almost gave the wrong person his heart.
James Plunkett
Boy imagine if Spyro and The Sorcerer the evil purple dragon from Spyro Shadow Legacy had another battle with each other similar to this.
That would be epic
Yeah, Griffin was willing to do everything, even sacrifice another member of his kind. All of it just rid himself from his curse. Quite a show of greed for a dragon who claims to be "saving his species from extinction" and get humans to "know their place". Draco would be disgusted at him, and proud of what his son became.

It feels so cheesy here when drakes saying brother, he called me brother, and then your not my brother.
It was just hillarious. 😂😂😂
Yah direct to video movies quite often have bad writing and dialogue. Direct to video movies ha ha.
You forget, Drake is essentially still new to the world around him outside the Chapel he was raised so. The fact that he found another Dragon, Griffin was praying on Drake's child-like innocence and desire for another like himself.

His dragon design is perfect for Dragon Villains especially ones for The Spyro the Dragon Series
1996 Dragon Heart had much better CGI. Just to show that just because the technology is there, it doesn't mean it's being used correctly.
Dragon Heart also had a much larger budget; in fact the film went way over-budget because of CGI-Draco, but the filmmakers felt like they had no choice but to go all-in because Jurassic Park had just come out and blown everyone's minds.
dragon heart 2 is straight to dvd so it has a lower budget, so of course its not going to look as good as the first movie
“I swear just this second I thought this was Malcolm in the Middle“
Interesting thought. Griffin(formerly Osric) is not much larger than Drake, this could mean he wasn't much older than Drake when he was Cursed and his heart removed.
Draco would have been proud of his son Drake your father is always with you Drake make Draco proud ❤❤❤
Considering Griffin isn't that much bigger than Drake (who is a young Dragon), Griffin is pretty small when you compare his scale to Draco.
Unless this was part of his curse that made him human, it's no wonder the other Dragons defeated him.
im sorry i cant look at Christopher Masterson without thinking of francis from malcome in the middle...which just makes this scene funny.
Dragonheart: Ps3
Dragonheart 2: ps2

Drake used ice beam

Original felt like a PS3 game cutscene whilst this feels like an early PS2 game cutscene.
Hell yeah! I dig re-watching these while listening to raw rockmusic like delta parole, makes me feel all excited
All things considered, this isn’t as bad as ppl think it is. Yes not nearly as great as other movies CGI wise but let’s be honest it’s cheesy but not terrible with how it interacts with the environment.
Whenever cgi mentioned, people talk about time period rather than money. Yes, this movie was three Years after the first, but with Lot Less budget("made for television")!
I LIKE DRAGONS SO MUCH AND THIS IS SUCH AN AWESOME DRAGON BATTLE🐉⚔️ 🆚🐉

I do too I also enjoy Dragon Fights in Spyro
This CGI is still 10 times better than The Flash
Mane late nineties early twos shows used this sparingly. Movies even made for television got between that and movie budget! Not everyone was power rangers.
1:02 Metro Goldwyn Mayer
Better cgi buddy movie than Sonic!
I'm know most comment on just the scene itself but I'm gonna delve into the movie as a whole. First off: I have such a strong connection to this and especially the first one because I watched these growing up. Even at 33, I still love these movies so so much. Now could they have delved more into the second one, yes. Second: I believe Draco would be so proud of Drake, yes he's young and he still has much to learn about who he is and where his place is in the world but he's on his way to become the kind of dragon his father was. I do wonder though, how much did Drake hear about his father growing up? There's also a part of me that wonders if Draco had not encountered Einon at all and would've been allowed to raise Drake, what would he have taught him? What wisdom would he instill in his son? I do like the scene when he learns more about the constellation Draco, where he says, "I've seen these stars before through the grate in my room. They always made me feel better somehow." To me that says that he didn't know very much, if anything about dragon elders teachings, nor did he know that his father was up there. The learning fire scene, while funny, I felt bad for Drake, he must've been so embarrassed. It's apparent that he can only breath fire through his mouth and not his nostrils like Draco, so maybe that was how his mother did it as well and perhaps that's where the ice came from too. Now as far as the interaction between Drake and Griffin, Griffin knew that Drake felt alone and he wanted take full advantage of that in hopes of twisting Drake into a cruel dragon that looked upon humans as nothing more than sources of amusement. Fortunately for Drake he had Geoff by his side, it's as he said, if it hadn't been for Geoff, he would've shared his heart with Osric and lost his soul...nearly making the same mistake Draco did when he had saved Einon. I am curious about one thing, Griffin is barely larger than Drake...which tells me that there isn't much a difference in age between them. It makes sense if you think about it. Griffin, being young and cocky, thinking he's so much better than the other dragons. I am certain that Draco would've had no problem taking Griffin out as he was much larger than the red dragon. Last thing: I believe the third Dragonheart should've revolved around an older Drake and Geoff, both learning who they are and where they belong in the world. How would Drake have looked as he aged? Would he have resembled his father more? Would he have gone to his father's cave to learn more about himself or his parents for that matter? What other things would the pair have experienced? As a writer of fanfiction, I look at things this way...trying to figure out what else particular characters would do next as they continued on with their lives.
say what you will about dragon heart 2 but its the nly one to ever have 2 dragons on screen together, just let that sink in
Dear lord, this was so much cooler when I was 8…

Power Rangers still did some impressive stuff despite lower budget! This was made for television.
Fun fact: the appearance of Griffin was based on the Medusa dragon action figure that was made for the Dragonheart toy line released by Kenner in 1996.
The people who had worked on the second film should've went along with the actual look of the Griffin dragon action figure that was also made for the toy line instead.
Holy werecats that's what I call a weredragon. Even the man who is pure in heart and say his prayers by night may be come a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.

Drake is a really good character who takes over for his dad and he's the cutest
I like to think Griffin was the Starscream or Chamberlain for Dragonheart if they'd focused their prequels correctly!
What gets me is that the first dragonheart had Draco looking so realistic. When this is so much more CGI style. It's like they went backwards in the graphics over the years.
Made for television! Bruce Campbell love bug released same year dragonheart, but lower budget, and got some obvious cgi.
Ok, I’m just questioning why this dragon is smaller compared to the original one, why he was human if his heart was taken and why he has a mustache. That is the weirdest eastern dragon I’ve seen in my life.
He looks kinda like a mix between an eastern dragon and a western dragon. And he said when the other dragon's captured him they turned him human as punishment.
Probably because Griffin was around Drake's age when he was turned into a human.
